Joebie: My brother the immediate job any coach we appoint is to qualify us for the WC. Considering we did not qualify for the previous mundial that should be the top priority, though a tough one. If we want to talk about doing excellently well in the tournament proper, are we saying he is the best choice for the WC proper? Or should we say we hired him mainly for the next AFCON? Our World Cup chances are too slim except a miracle, World Cup qualification aside is it chelle we should be going for even afcon? What the hell are we thinking. This is just too ridiculous, we are just giving the likes of amunike, sia sia, oliseh and their supporters more mouth cos honestly chelle no even better pass these guys. How can we go from paseiro, finidi, Eguavoen only to land finally with chelle, o wrong na! |

We ought to be appointing coaches with great pedigree in past tournaments. Our greatest headache is not just qualification but doing excellently well in tournaments and you need coaches with well rounded experience in that.
How can you sack a coach who came second in afcon and later appoint another coach who crashed out in the quarter finals. And I see folks here talking about playing style. So we are still looking for tiki taka coaches abi. We no well at all! Kotinu! |

We keep using our national team to beef up the CVs of lower grade coaches. Looks like we don’t understand how big our football brand as a nation is. We’ve produced two APOTYs in a row and still we just dash the national team to just any coach for as long he doesn’t carry the green passport. Phew |

jedisco: Hehe. It's called see-finish. He thought he was about to serve Kier Starmer breakfast but now he's been advised to ho wash plates at the big mans house. I wonder what he'd do if Elon offers £100m at this stage - he'd say master, I know you were pulling my legs.
It's insulting finally. Reform is Nigel's personal business which is registered as a company with him being the main shareholder. Its like saying Elon or Trump are not good enough to oversee the vision of Space-X or Truth Social respectively. With all this, the humility in Nigels response is telling. Imagine his response if it was Kemi that said same thing. He has already said he doesn’t want to go into war with his sugar daddy and intends to discuss with Baba Trump when he attends his inauguration. It’s difficult to get rid of Musk the only way is to ensure his puppet doesn’t get into power, even Trump can’t go against Musk unless he wants to be cooked with twitter (ask stammer for starters 😜) that’s how choking is it with Musk. There’s no insult I can see here for Farage except he wants to fund his company or party all by himself. As for kemi trust me she too won’t mind washing plates for Musk, na who no want the world richest man as a friend. That’s what desperate politics or lust for power can do to any one. You throw all caution to the dustbin! |

jedisco: Hehe.. I never watch that one oo.. I'd leave it under tge free speech narrative.
Tommy Robinson doesn't have the right background. He might get overt support from rioters and inward support from others but the average British middle-upper class (e.g Rees Mogg) is not lining up behind him. Nigel Farage appeals more to that group- he has the oratory, education and carriage. Even most of Robinsons protests tend to be in deprived regions. This free speech movement is really doing wonders o where someone wants the King to send the entire parliament home or for Britons to be given asylum in the US 😜 Farage is the one that messed up himself going to Malarago or whatever they call it. Anything his eyes see he should collect it all by himself including handing over to Robinson as demanded by sugar daddy musk! |

jedisco: Lol@ Tommy Robinson - the defender of English values and the only one speaking the 'truth' Nigel Farage is not obedient enough to lead the cause.
True, the UK system may have not be as financially laden but it's heavily susceptible to the media. I've noticed that many elements of the Right in the UK are also not huge fans of Trump.
With most of the developed western moving right, the next few years should be interesting. Hopefully its their Brexit moment with similar lessons to be learned You have not watched that GB news interview with Musk’s father where he said the future of the Uk belongs to Tommy Robinson? |

Elon is something else- for even NF to say this one is too far right and disagree with him should make folks unsettled. I wonder what role his aparthied South African roots are playing in his world view Elon is just a manipulator taking advantage of far-right ideologies to bully his way into political influence. When he's done he will start shouting about the shortage of engineers and skilled workers to advance his business interests. Just pity those who see him as their savior to advance their desire to chase all those they don't like or want out of their country and right now many of them are confused and can't just understand what the hell is going on |

jedisco: Hehe... Kier is having it tough.
UK kowtowing to the U.S no be today but got worse since Brexit as standing alone leaves the UK at the back of the queue hence we have become more desperate for any trade agreement. Obama warned about this. Must issue came to the fore when the UK went cap in hand begging him to open a factory here. Chap ultimately looked the other way siting Brexit even after a sitting PM 'interviewed' him. Imagine the PM interviewing a private business man. Funny enough, it was the much hated Indians that came to UKs aid and agreed to build a battery factory after securing generous terms.
Many whites (in other countries) who are native english speakers see the UK as their family house for historical reasons esp white South Africans His father has called Kier a fascist. X has left Tommy Robinsons hate filled documentary on. He is now calling for Tommys release. The UK can't do much about him cos upsetting the coming US president is considered too risky a venture. All Musk needs to do is dangle the possibility of a factory and the those in Westminster would start singing a different tune. Odiegwu that's all I can say cos this film is pregnant with many seasons and episodes. Happy viewing! |

this is petty, a president is just like any other person who goes back home to celebrate festive activities with his family while Abuja is just his workplace. chrisooblog: Bro do you really think if Lookman repeated the same feat during those Toure years he won't have won?
Plus the year Mikel came second it was only the AFCON title you could hold as his major achievement that year and he wasn't even the MVP sef?
Club football Mikel was nowhere to be found but individually Yaya was just levels above.
Don't forget after Kanu you're talking about two players who are the highest ever ranked Nigerians in Balon'Dor and FIFA awards.
Was Mikel even nominated for Balon'Dor in 2013 before even mentioning where he finished finally? The thing about players like Yaya and Eto is that they were doing great stuff season after season and their impact even at their clubs was too much to ignore, you know why some folks here slam osihmen despite how excellent he is? It's because they want to see that dominance like Eto or Yaya cos that's how he can have 2,3 or 4 APOTYs. Mikel was also consistent despite the criticism and he was a major reason we won Afcon 2013, He's the reason Yaya couldn't do much damage to us in the quarterfinals that year. Lookman or Osihmen still needs to power us to an afcon title before we can finally consider them as one of our greatest players ever, Kanu won Olympic Gold for us despite not winning Afcon and that's why he's still miles ahead so Osihmen and Lookman still need to land us something big for us as a nation or surpass Yekini's goal tally. My view please |

Napoleon55: Why not, they beat prime Salah, if they perform better, they would .
Mikel could not beat Yaya Toure because of extremely low goal contributions count for both country and club compare to Yaya. In the seasons under review, Salah was not dominant enough to beat Osihmen and Lookman. Yaya Toure was more dominant than any other African player in those years he won, only Samuel Eto before him has such a feat. It was even the Afcon win in 2013 that gave Mikel a slim chance but not enough to match up to Yaya. A player winning APOTY 4 consecutive times is no child's play. Salah I doubt will ever match Yaya. |

chrisooblog: Good point you make on the flipside Mikel and Moses for all their achievement never won AFOTY unlike Ademola and Victor plus the latter's achievement is more noteworthy considering they didn't play for European top echelon teams. but for Yaya Toure, Mikel or Moses would have won APOTY, even Lookman or Osihmen wouldn't have beaten a Yaya Toure, make we talk true o! Yaya won APOTY in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, that's how dominant in Africa he was o! |
