Cyberknight: Read the FAQs, especially the one concerning maximum policy duration. Ultimately if you cant get any for more than 90 days, then buy more than one policy with overlapping start and end dates so your mother is always covered.
Exactly what I did for a relative, I even used a combination of Allianz and Axa to cover the entire duration of stay. Best option I think
Mujtahida: When Europeans were in Africa did you just accept it? No! It was resisted as it should. We fought it hard. You remember the wave of resistance to colonialism that swept through Africa in the 50s down to the 80s
You've got Indians pouring in, Chinese, Pakistanis, Nigerians, Syrians, Arabs pouring into the small island of England, changing its demographics and culture and on the basis of migration, you'd want an Englishman to accept that? Would you accept it if the reverse was the case? Walahi I will not. Nations are families. So just about any person will come to my house and stake a claim in competition with my child? I will boot the person out.
You migrate to another man's land, you are a migrant. Even deep inside you, you know it.
My point is that self preservation is the first law of nature. Every people have the right to do what is best for their people. As an immigrant, migrants are doing what they feel is best for them but they should not be surprised when they meet resistance.
In Nigeria, you see the same idea in that every ethnic group has their geographic space with certain privileges and entitlements. To flood a nation with different people each with their different cultures to the point where the indigenous people and culture is almost eradicated is nothing but a form of genocide and cultural suicide.
You have valid points and I really admire them but don't forget all this multiculturalism and changing demography didn't just happen by the will of those who migrated there, in fact, it was the making of the West as they saw it as an opportunity to enrich themselves at the expense of others (that's the fact) and one thing I detest is when they start kicking against what they created by themselves. The blacks who play for France didn't select themselves and impose themselves on the team, is their coach black? So they knew what they were doing all these while but because it is beginning to threaten their supremacy is the reason they are now crying foul and the reality is that they can't eat their cake and have it. They all took advantage of mass migration to get cheap Labour to maximize profit for Business. The West is very transactional in their dealings and doesn't do charity in any way and will continue never mind all this noise, it's not that straightforward. It's all about the cowries for them.
Mujtahida: I don't understand how black people cry for space in white man land and when they don't get it, they start crying racism all over the place. I can understand if its America because of their peculiar history but Europe, mbanu. European people - just like any other people - owe themselves a duty to put their people first and even last.
That's how Larry Madowo, the Kenyan CNN reporter went to Argentina and started complaining that he did not see any black man. Haaaa so have you seen other races complain of not seeing their people in Africa?
If there's one thing I hate, it's DEI, multiculturalism and every other woke nonsense that panders to the idea of making homogeneous societies less homogenous. I look at the present French team and I feel sorry for the French people.
Look at England. They basically have tribes now: black tribes, brown tribes, Muslim tribes (I have nothing against Muslims, I'm just stating a fact). They have become a mixed people.
And that signifies that they are going down. Because I feel one of the reasons why Nigeria is the way it is, is because of the mix of over 300 ethnic groups. It's literally babel. So if Europeans allow themselves to be bludgeoned and surrender to DEI, they will become babel.
You can't understand until you truly live among them bruv. Humans are migratory and no one should feel apologetic about advancing their human potential wherever they found themselves, the same Europeans migrated years back to South Africa and all over Africa to seek the same opportunities blacks are now seeking in the West same thing they did in North America, Australia, and others. So they took multiculturalism to other places including here in Nigeria and they even divided Africa among themselves back then so how has it become now a sin to have the same in Europe?
jedisco: Lol... na today? Its a well known fact- we are only here only cos we're needed not wanted and reason why I'm unapologetic in seeking out the best for myself. To be fair though, this is an opinion piece on the Torygraph They should bring AI on, let people benefit. In their minds, after care workers have suffered for 5yrs on minimum wage and taxed heavily for settlement fees- what stops them as citizens from descending on the benefit system with vengeance... afterall everybody get wetin dey do am and what some of them go thru is enough to cause PTSD.
The odd thing is that a good chunk of the labour shortages in care, farming, construction etc can be filled locally by supporting the millions on longterm sick back to work but any proper conversation on that is shot down by a baying mob.
Torygraph indeed, omo those people no get joy at all. Make content creators no spoil this AI o, na to dey form AI specialist bayi, AI care, AI baker, AI construction worker etc. AI fashion designer sef
All this talk about Amunike and Co. is because of our administrators who always lower the bar when it comes to the selection of coaches and players. Just like the issue about our midfield when the issue of Nwakali keeps coming up.
If you want a coach for the National team, please get an experienced coach with a very visible track record or when you invite players make sure they are those who can truly deliver and all this noise about alternative coaches and players will cease. But for as long as we keep enduring mediocrity the arguments and conversations will continue. We can't be replacing coaches with people who don't have better records than those they are replacing. This has always been the norm in our football (I can give examples wella) and we think we will just conquer the world, haba
codemaniacs: when they eventually win the laurels they don't attribute to the black players...
when Osimh:en scored and assisted consistently for Napoli which led to them winning Serie A how did Napoli and the ital:ian media treat him ?
yes na, shebi even some folks here were blasting Osihmen for his behaviour and some of us here were constantly explaining reasons and how terrible the club was but No some believed it was Osihmen at fault. It's all use and dump and never wanting to share the spotlight, is the reason why it will be difficult for many black coaches to emerge in Europe.
codemaniacs: been born in Wes:tern nations' or carrying Wes:tern nations' passports does not make the person ethnicity to become European or scot or english or welsh or german or italian e.t.c..
it is not subjective.. ethnicity is very important..
but the same ethnicity is not important when they want them as players to win laurels
codemaniacs: there are thousands of black coaches coaching in African countries so yes coaching is easy for black men in West Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa I don't know about Northern Africa...
getting jobs that has nothing to do with medicine or tech or care jobs in Europe or U:S would be difficult because they have to consider their people first..
that's subjective as many blacks now carry European or other Western nations' passports or were even born there so you referring to considering their people first surely has a different meaning
E:urope have to put their people first, it is not marginalization for them to put their people first..
African coaches and players should come back home and open football clubs and academies... the African coaches are not as rich as the players so the coaches should not be the ones with the responsibility of building academies..
let African coaches and players and wealthy Africans work together and build academies and football clubs and use their knowledge to create jobs in the sports industry in African countries.
Agreed, but let no one continue to fool us with the meritocracy bullshit
TheGoodJoe: Totally agree with you. That is why Kompany getting relegated really stung me. Glad he got another chance to redeem himself.
There are many factors and one stint is not enough for a coach. Look at Graham Potter at Chelsea. Despite his remarkable history in the past, he still had a poor stint at Chelsea. Look at Ten Hag at Ajax, and his time at Manchester United.
So a poor run can't define a coach. If Kolo Toure with his achievement was a white European, he would be on a higher level. Look at the likes of Lampard, Gerard, Rooney. Fabregas, Xabi Alonso, they have high grade jobs and a bad stint won't mar their images.
TheGoodJoe: That is one of the reasons I am supporting Vincent Kompany. I believe him succeeding can open ways for more black coaches to get trust.
For instance, just checking, a whole Kolo Toure is assistant coach for Manchester City U16s.
As in, a whole Kolo Toure, captain of Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Miami fashie this thing.
Laugh is choking me.
Kolo Toure has a UEFA Pro License and UEFA Executive Masters and is doing assitant work in academy. Someone that was coaching in Celtic, Leicester City, Wigan.
Are you surprised? That’s how the global world works na. Some folks will say black folks have victim mentality when they are actually ignorant of the world they live in. They will be shouting meritocracy up and down when in truth the world never and will never operates on meritocracy. Just wait when president Trump tenure begins and we see the total eradication of DEI in the western world then folks will understand better. phew
jedisco: Didn't take long. Telegraph is already arguing against ILR for our great british care workers. When they were used to subsidize care costs, they didn't know they were 'low-skilled'. Now its time to become citizens, they don remember their skill... lol Interesting how these folks advocate a UAE-esque system when it suits but when it doesn't, accuse those folks of human right abuses. If its a mistake, why is the visa pathway still open? Well, I'm happy Keir is overseeing the return of migration numbers to 'normalcy' Over the next two years, many of those who arrived since 2021 will become eligible for indefinite leave to remain. Once this is granted, no matter how expensive they may turn out to be, they can stay. The priority for the Government should be preventing this from happening – extending the time taken for eligibility, imposing fiscal contribution thresholds and, in the longer term, shifting towards a guest worker model for short-term, low-wage work. The alternative is too costly to contemplate.
After creating something no one forced them to do then they will start fighting against it whether it’s post study or startup visa as if it was in Sokoto the pathway originated from. This is why am not excited about the AI pathway cos tomorrow when those ones too are eligible for ilr they will start saying another thing again like they are responsible for many Brits sitting down at home and damaging the economy.
It just shows the exploitative approach all these programs are and never about progressive ideological way of solving problems. Like I always say it’s a hit and run system.
DABIGATRAN: I am backing Eric Chelle to do well because that will be a win-win situation for us and for African coaches.
Are the thieving politicians running football interested in Chelle succeeding? Never! Very soon the government will release billions for the so-called WCQ project.
There is no Senegal in our group, no Morocco or Egypt. Just Rwanda and Benin and we have had 4 coaches. Una well done 🤝
It's terrible. I have never been a fan of changing coaches like this. I hope this current coach stays at least until the next Afcon to maintain some form of stability, no matter the immediate results.
Mujtahida: I watched some 90s football clips yesterday. See shot upon shot. From outside 18 oo. Chai I feel like saying it shall not be well with Guardiola but I won't say it.
TheGoodJoe: When his CV is brutally above the competition, I see some bad eggs switching to plan B of giving him the job and massively sabotaging the person. We saw it with Stephen Keshi. It was literally open. He was winning games and qualifying for a tournament and still getting reports of bringing in a technical adviser (won't mention the name of the person but a footballing Super Eagles legend).
This time, I think those eggs did not want to take the gamble.
Amaju pinnick was one of the arrow head insisting on a foreign technical adviser when keshi was our main coach. The same Amaju now accusing Nigerians of racism because of Chelle. phew
wittydee: This is wickedness. He can donate billions in Ukraine for people to kill themselves in Ukraine, he can set aside billions for children to change their gender through surgery, but you can't give your citizens that have been paying taxes through their nose enough money to restart their lives. Na woo for this world.
He's already on his way out of office, when trump comes in he can open the treasury and give the citizens 1m each
TheGoodJoe: Ironically, he was a good player but his attacking style did not suit Okocha's style. I think Ogbeche suited Ebiede more. Ogbeche liked the ball released early to him when in space while Okocha preferred breaking the midfield with his skills to create room for the forwards.
Okocha's style was pointed out by some analysts as a hinderance to Ogbeche. Ogbeche had a history of being a good player from FGC Okigwe to Unical to the local league scene.
Unfortunately, despite the array of creative midfielders in that time, Abubakar Musa, Ebiede, Ibeji, Oruma etc, Okocha was untouchable to get dropped. So Ogbeche had to go.
Oruma never had a good run in the Eagles because of Okocha. So sad
TheGoodJoe: Nope. Not really. My focused watching started in 1996. I used to watch all the past games but more of waiting for a goal to shout with everyone around.
If anything is scrapped, just know it will still come out of the same taxpayers' pocket in another form. Nobody can be wiser and smarter than any govt. They will still collect that fee from you
Joebie: A very good point i wanted to make earlier. Chelle will meet a different profile in SE, will he be able to make our midfield click? Time will tell. Let's hope for the best with him at the helm
That's why I have reservations on the coach but folks here think am just being flippant.
Joebie: Lose? no be draw draw Peseiro bin dey draw...
Mali still has some decent players.
Mod I just tried to attach a list of players that Chelle utilized with Mali, but I can confirm attachment functionality is broken
The free-flowing football Mali played at Afcon is what is deceiving many, forgetting the Super Eagles don't have that spine or personnel for it. Even one-touch football is a problem, Whether it is Chelle who will play the midfield himself for us, we'll wait and see.
Joebie: If we are truly patriotic and we belive our nation is a big nation at least in football then we should demand someone befitting. We can't watch and see other African nations employ proven coaches yet we say we can't afford it. Can we truly not afford proven coaches, put together a long term plan etc? Aren't we Nigeria?
Modified
They tell you they don't have money and we suck it in like a simp. Whereas people are sharing salary.
They will soon tell you to be a man and stop moaning. And that you can't change anything. They are coming. Jokers!
