Joebie: My rationale for Saintfeit is simply his love for handling the Super Eagles which he has applied fir severally, and very likely his knowledge of our team that he must have heen following. I see there is a new PR attempt for Chelle that the Super Eagles has been deer to him since he was 12. May be true....
Back to Seinfeit, yes he is a blank slate as well, and he has not even managed teams at the level of the Mali national team but he has some experience with African national teams.
And if Chelle doesn't give us glory in the next AFCON, would we see it as a failure? I can see there is more expectation from him based on past AFCON. Let's not forget he is a young coach with limited experience. So we should keep our expectations realistic and be patient as he tracks his CV and hopefully achieves something new with us in the process.
On quality of play, we have seen that from some of our indigenous coaches. At the end of the day, it's the results that will matter
That's why one keep asking on what criteria was the selection based on. If na ambition even coach elyte on this thread, his ambition is well know to us 😆. This wayo from nff needs to be studied. Our senior national team don use style become entry level job.
Joebie: Thats saying things as it trully is. Most of what i see is PR stunts. If you support a specific candidate, say why but dont and sugar salt and all kind of spices.
I'm actually okay with Chelle if we are going to be patient with him.
The criteria used in selecting the coach is flawed but when you look carefully like you said a very good pr has been put in place to sell the coach no matter what anybody thinks. We’ve been through this route before and one only hopes it doesn’t bite us too much in the end. Gracias!
Really? So foreign coaches can't be corrupt? Have we not heard about foreign coaches splitting their salaries or being involved in transfer deals to accept or keep Eagles' jobs? That is not corruption abi
Tessyy1701: Nobody is making excuse for anybody abeg....
We were all here when Finidi was given the chance, many were sceptical and he later prove them right and some of us who are glad to have him, he proved us wrong that he is not yet there.
Sir Equeavon came in and after the Rwanda game - the chorus of he is not good enough, due to his substition this and tactis that was loud for everybody in the room to hear.
Our brother with US U19 team hasnt gone proffesional and you like many other will criticise a white man if appointed in that position.
SiaOne (Our special one) is just coming back from suspension and due to the corruption thingy many wont want him.
We are only left with Pep's classmate and I believe He will get His time.
The foreign coach that we might be looking we cant afford them and thats our reality
We are just deceiving ourselves we know we couldn't afford a foreign coach, then why don't we continue with Eguavoen as interim coach or do what we did years ago when Eguavoen led a consortium of local coaches and we ended up with an afcon bronze. The nff just fooled us for months claiming they were shopping for a coach only to end up with a coach they want to experiment with. At this stage of our football haba this is ridiculous and we are now using all manner of examples to justify this gamble. No wahala make we continue
kentebemoney: With the kind of football he played at the last afcon, I'd take the risk with him. Alex Ferguson was an experienced coach, small boy "pep" beat am like thief.
Then we should have continued with Finidi and take risk cos we saw some beautiful football too
Tessyy1701: Alonso's record was blank before Kusen gamble on Him, The great Pep was not of the world class before Barca promote Him, Herve Renard has nothing to do with RECORD prior to 2012.
We can't continue to make excuses to justify this nonsense just because we must appoint a coach. It's a disservice to our experienced indigenous coaches and if that is the case then let's pick an indigenous coach with a blank record. The idea of going foreign is because you think your indigenous coaches lacks something so why go for a foreign coach with a blank record. That's hypocrisy
Joebie: But the Malian na black man na. I call it self hate. Anyway, as far as this thread is concerned the issue has been more about his records. Na this same thread we dey when people criticized Peseiro-s appointment. Na the sane energy I dey use for Chelle. Check my record here
I don’t even know where the racial excuse is even coming from, Questions are being asked about his pedigree and experience but folks think it’s because he’s not a white man. One just needs to ignore some opinions here I tell you. Whether white or black am not sold on the guy and can never be. If he performs thanks to the nff for improving his cv. That’s all
NothingDoMe: Seize her hand immediately he parried her strike. He just basically stood there to be killed. I agree with the person you quoted. Nor be man.
My guy if that man attempt to seize her hand as you said, the man will be a dead man and will be very easy for the woman to claim self defence. He tried protecting himself. That was the best he could do.
Bannedlargejr: So, we refused to renew a coach contract that helped us to reach our first finals in 11 years while signing the one that got eliminated at the quarterfinals and starting afresh. Omo who do us. (Fans, FA, sports ministers)
The fans want entertaining football nah! a.k.a sexy and penetrating passes
jedisco: Hehe.. popcorn mood. Its the payer vs the player finally.
Elon is a nasty piece of work just look at his response to Justin Trudeau after Trump had been disrespectfully goading Canada. Imagine if it was a Chinese business man saying such.
BTW, some white South Africans in the West tend to give that bigoted vibe. Wether its the one who fired on the UK riots or Elon sef. Only got to know Elons dad impregnated his half-daughter. I watched a clip of him speaking about their upbringing and the roundabout on how he impregnated his daughter. The way he goes about it is so nauseating. Imagine if it was a Pakistani rich man who had clamoured for an extremist PM saying same.
May be a dna test should be run on him, he fit be Pakistani o 😜 cos na only Pakistani Dey do that kind thing according to Elon
As for Canada, been seeing lots of Canadians saying they thought Trump was initially joking about the 51st state ish. I just Dey laugh, 😆 no be the same Trump who came to the uk years ago boasting about buying off the nhs?
Mujtahida: Who else reads TheGoodJoe's analysis with more focus now like I do? The way I concentrate to absorb what you write now ehn. Mehn, thank God for preserving you. That's all I can say.
You don’t know what you have until you lose it. That’s life. There are folks here controversial or not that spice up this thread including the eminent Quintessential. Everyone including you brings something special to the table irrespective of their views and opinions.
Under his leadership, Mali recorded 13 wins, five draws, and only three losses, a statistic that highlights his ability to extract consistent results from his teams.
2. He is known for attacking football, often deploying a 4-3-3 or a 4-3-1-2 formation that emphasizes high pressing, quick transitions, and creative runs in behind.
His teams are characterized by their flexibility, adapting shapes and strategies to exploit opponents’ weaknesses.
3.A cost-effective solution Financial constraints have played a significant role in the NFF’s coaching decisions in recent years.
After parting ways with Portuguese manager José Peseiro, who reportedly earned €50,000 per month, the federation struggled to meet the financial demands of high-profile candidates like Hervé Renard and Tom Saintfiet.
In summary, we went for the cheapest thing in the market. Na condition make crayfish bend, Thanks
TheGoodJoe: Personally, I think Eric Chelle's appointment is an unambitious one. Unfortunately, the NFF are cash strapped and we have to make do with whatever decision they make.
Eric Chelle is actually a coach I liked from his AFCON performance, played bright free-flowing football that entertained me. I think I made a comment about him when Mali got knocked out.
I also feel Samson Siasia is more deserving, since Amunike is now working on an interesting project at Heartland FC, I would want to see what becomes of it in the next 3-4 years.
I don't think Chelle is more of a tactician than Samson Siasia and Siasia would have easily been able to put a sound team together.
Either way, we have Eric Chelle as our coach and we need to throw our full weight behind him and hope he succeeds.
I pray he does well with the Super Eagles and have us playing breath-taking football.
We should have just stick with our indigenous coaches. Again my apologies to them and all their ardent supporters. No thanks to the Nff
A cabal that can get dead refineries working despite all the sabotage must truly be an educated, ambitious and sophisticated one so Dalung you’re right and have just indicted a previous govt you were part of
WarHammer2000: Very sad to see many Nigerians rejecting Chelle not on the basis of his record but on his nationality and skin color. Racial inferiority complex really has a firm grip on most of us.
I think Chelle should introduce himself to the SE team and Nigerians in general as a Frenchman, not a Malian. That would help us believe he is capable.
