Mujtahida: Wait ooo my people. I've scanned my memory. It's as if Obafemi Martins never played for Nigeria. I can hardly remember any match where he was lit. He's just a blip, nothing more. Yet he was on fire with his blistering pace those days. Dude was a great player, my point still remains that the current crop of players am seeing are better. Another player we still Dey underrate na Simon, I saw a goal he scored for his club the other day and i jumped out of my chair, the guy raced pass players in the box like lightening and blasted home. The whole stadium went mad. |

Nigeria needs to restructure along regional lines state creation is a scam. Many states all over the country are not viable and can’t even pay salaries. They are just liabilities and we want to create more? Are we okay? |

solonnachi: Morrocan fans booing Ademola Lookman and calling him thief (Saariq) yesterday is uncalled for. CAF should stop hosting this CAF award event in Morocco please. North Africans are always bad losers, even when it’s obvious they were not better in a competition they lose. My hope is that one day they will exit African football and join their Arab colleagues in Asia. It’s about time. Their bad sportsmanship is nauseating. I remember Eto and other stars winning the award in Nigeria, na we go Dey hail Dey sing your praises. Honestly we don’t know how better we are as a people than others out there. |

Our people were arrogant making him feel he was atrocious in his demands we should have negotiated and come to a compromise, the price we are paying for today. When a man has surpassed the target you gave him, easily he has the upper hand but the bad press the coach had made it look as if what has he even achieved and of course his assistant ended up carrying us inside the bush. Na our story be that. |

Zahra29: Thanks for confirming that you haven't read NOI's book 😋
Yes international, i.e global i.e. countries outside Nigeria...You do know what international means? And that thanks to the invention of the internet, I and many others are able to purchase books by Nigerian authors without visiting Nigeria or being Nigerian? Blimey lol
Chimamanda is a perfect example. Half of a yellow sun and Americanah went viral in the UK and elsewhere. The movie Half of a yellow sun also did very well in the UK with a mixed audience. You’re trying to justify international readership for Nigerians not reading and that’s why I said it’s a comedy. Of course I know that Nigerian authors are patronised globally or you think am daft to know that or am one of those Nigerians that doesn’t read. Issorite 😂 whatever suits your fancy o! After I gave examples of books widely read in Nigeria you’re saying something else 😂 |

opes: Lucky Peseiro. In his 18 months as Nigeria coach, He can boldly say 2 of his players named Africa best respectively..AFCON good show helped Lookman together with his club form As bad as we think that coach is he sparked something in our players but as usual all Nigerians are better coaches, so sad. That man deserved a raise in his salary for him to be retained. Till today we don’t know where we are in terms of coaching. We must always choose the harder way |

[Zahra29 : cos Nigerian authors make huge fortunes so how will they if Nigerians don’t read. Erm because they also sell to an international readership? 🤨 You do love to miss the point. My original comment was that very few Nigerians, [b] including yourself I might add lol , have read NOI's book about the systemic corruption in Nigeria. I didn't say none, I said very few (in relative terms).International readership? this is just comedy 😂 |

willyede: At this rate, it appears you are unwilling to embrace the much-needed change in the country. It seems you are focusing on criticizing the messenger rather than the message itself. Have you seen the latest news that the Inspector General of Police has banned the Nigerian police from arbitrary arrests, detention of youths, and the collection and checking of phones? This is one of the positive outcomes we are beginning to see, thanks to Kemi's advocacy. Let’s hope this momentum continues, as it seems our solutions may eventually come from external pressure. And you think it’s today such directive have been given on such arrests? Was such directive not given after the end sars riots? So what has changed? Please tell me Kemi is not doing any advocacy, she’s just politicking, perhaps you should go and watch that arise tv video I posted a while back. As it has been said it’s up to us all to believe whatever we want. |

Zahra29: The charges brought against Farotimi state:
“That you Dele Farotimi ‘m’ on 28th August 2024 knowingly and intentionally transmitted communication in an online interview on Mic On Podcast by Seun Okinbaloye on your YouTube Channel (http://youtube.com/watch?v=4USuxB…) in respect of a book authored and published by you titled: ‘Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System’ wherein you stated in the interview that: ‘Aare Afe Babalola corrupted the judiciary"
It was the podcast that led to the petition being brought by Babalola, not because masses read the book. If Farotimi had not done/shared that podcast, he would likely not have been arrested despite the existence of the book.
I'll let you return to hiding your head in the sand that you love so much lol What you’re implying is that Nigerians would never have read that book and am saying it’s not true cos Nigerian authors make huge fortunes so how will they if Nigerians don’t read. Even your darling Kemi’s father was also a publisher and you expect me to accept and believe that Nigerians don’t read abi for you to prove Malcom x as true? Noooooooo! |

willyede: As of 2018, Nigeria's adult literacy rate was approximately 62%, indicating that a substantial portion of the population lacks basic reading and writing skills. That’s not even too poor for a developing country and the huge population and we know the areas or regions which keeps it that low especially when you compare to other developing nations. Am even surprised it hits 60% |

How many Nigerians had bought or read Farotimi's book before he was arrested and went viral with the likes of Obi and Atiku speaking out against his arrest. Try being honest. You have just shot yourself in the leg, If Nigerians don’t read, the book will never be written. Lots of Nigerians have made huge fortunes as authors. Your Malcom x quote is stale. |

Zahra29: Lies are the comments Goodenoch made about BH.
Yup sure, almost every Nigerian has read Iweala's book. In fact it's even been added to the school curriculum. Whatever pretence keeps you happy 😂
I'm not working hard oh, I'm in full wind down mode now for Christmas and the new Year. You can follow up with Oluomo of Derby and the many other non-separatist Nigerians who support/ don't mind Kemi 😊 Thanks to kemi for dividing Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora just after few weeks or months as Torries Leader. It’s a worthy achievement to be celebrated and we are very grateful. There’s no book written in any Nigeria on any issue that impacts the polity that does not get traction. The former president obasanjo wrote a book called ‘my watch’ where he lambasted his VP Atiku. Till today that book is still a talking point. Okonjo Iweala in her book wrote how risky it was fighting corruption in Nigeria which still forms a major highlight in the fight against corruption today. Try and get more educated with things that happens in Nigeria if you’re interested so you don’t come here and quoting Malcom x for us in an era that does not make sense anymore. The same Nigerians that spend huge fortune all over the world in academics and people say they don’t read must be greatest fallacy that only exists in the Stone Age. |

willyede: From this analysis, it appears that Kemi's decision to share her views via a podcast may not have been the most strategic choice. If she had instead presented the same points in a book, the reaction might have been more muted, as we are not a nation that heavily engages with reading. To speak candidly about Nigeria and avoid backlash, putting such thoughts into a book tends to be a safer and more effective approach. But it’s a book and not a podcast that got Dele Farotimi an human rights activist or lawyer into his current predicament of his hard stance against the Nigerian judiciary. Where is this assumption that Nigerians don’t read coming from? |

forgiveness: Inter Milan was not different from Napoli, Atalanta, Nottingham forest and Leverkusun when Martins won the Seria A with Inter Milan.
Even Martins won League cup with lowly Birmingham City
So, don't be confused. So, give honor ro whom honour is due. Really? That inter Milan lineup of those days? haba fear God o. Napoli was only a big threat in the days of Maradona. I followed serie A well in the late nineties and early 2000s Napoli was not on our lips like Juve, Milan, Roma, Lazio, Sampdoria and co. We have forgotten how difficult it started becoming for Nigerian players to be signed by the big clubs in Europe. |

Zahra29: Quite rich coming from you who boldly claimed that Boko haram has no ethnic bias or ethnic grouping and has never killed anyone based on their ethnicity 🙄 and yes, very few Nigerians know of the book , especially compared to the numbers that have heard of Kemi's comments.
Biko, e jo, let's dead the topic/ move on. You, Shettima and others are free to continue hating Kemi and seeing her as the problem.
Others also, both in the UK (even Oluomo of Derby stated that he is very supportive of Kemi) and Nigeria are free to look past the messenger and accept that there is some truth in her comments. Stop the lies, that book was well published with so much awareness and support in Nigeria because of the kind of persona involved and her diligence in the Nigeria polity just like Goodenoch said. I know you’re working so hard to validate Kemi’s divisive comments but it won’t change anything as there’s so much spotlight on her now especially as Igboho has gotten big validation now for his separatist ideology and yes there’s a followership for that too who will continue to agree with Kemi’s comments for obvious reasons. |

I think we can regain the form of the 90s with Naija players being at the top. Lookman is already on track for another CAF POTY.
If Atalanta win the Scudetto and make a deep run in UCL, I don’t see why he won’t be front runner especially if he keeps on putting up his current numbers. You’re very right including victor Moses but yaya toure was just too much in that era. Salah with his crazy form now might just be the challenge for Lookman now. (In reference to Boniface) 11 games 0 goals for the super eagles compared to Obagoal? (Be honest broski). Anyway, it’s not too late for him to succeed at the super eagles. He just has to stop joking and become more brutal Boniface sin is national team performance and I I get that like you said he still has some time hoping he makes use of it but professional wise he’s had an outstanding career. Oba goal on the other hand got us no where in the national team if we are being honest too. |

Boniface is an extremely talented player but he wasn’t better than prime obagoal bundesliga or No bundesliga. Sometimes, you just had to watch the actual games to judge Una go explain tire, what you folks are not observing is that the current crop of Nigerian players are taking clubs that are not in the elite category of European clubs to the highest levels of accomplishments e.g. osihmen with Napoli, Ademola with Atalanta, boniface with leverkusen, even an Aina with notts is currently 4th in the epl can you beat that? It tells you the impact of these guys in teams with no big players but still pushing them to the summit of the game. And that’s the outcome we are seeing with these awards. jedisco: You put this succinctly. I wonder why folks wrongly thing immigrants would be against immigration enforcement.
What we stand against is the folly of granting a million visas, dissipating the funds received and turning around to blame migrants for every problem in society. This allows rioters and riff-raffs to point fingers accusing productive members of society whose roles they cannot replace as being the reason for their sorry state.
Like I've long chorused, the UK needs to move on from this. They should determine what number of migrants they need and enforce it. It's so easy- end the post-study visa, end the care visa, stop or severely cap the NHS granting visas and the numbers arriving within a year would be in the negative. I'd rather a trial of that for a decade and let’s see the prosperity it brings. easy? My brother make I talk am again, sapa no get respect 😜 no take reggae spoil dem blues o |
