chrisooblog: Question for the house do you think Ekong, Lookman, and Osimhen have done enough to be included in the greatest Nigerian top 10 players ever or they still need to win a title?
Personally apart from the usual suspects like Kanu, JJ, Yekini etc. can't think of anyone else in the current top 10 better than these individuals. Anyway just my opinion love to hear other informed thoughts on the matter. Lookman, osihmen and friends need to win an afcon title to get ahead of even Mikel, Victor Moses and enyeama. Both Mikel and Moses even have European club titles while enyeama has an African champs league title to add to their Afcon title |

Gloriouscrown: Compliments of the season everyone. Does anyone know if there is a way to switch to the eVisa without using the brp card? I have been struggling with this for a long time as I can’t seem to find my brp card and waiting time on the phone with uk immigration is really really long. My dependants have successfully switched just me left. @zahra, Goke, Justwise and other sabi people please help. Thank you wow this is hard as you need to scan your Brp for the evisa, you just need to keep waiting to get through to uk immigration to help you out and let them know you can’t find your Brp. Firstly I think you need to report the lost Brp using this link https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits/lost-stolen-damagedThen see how you can still get the evisa without Brp. |

lavida001: Third worlders especially Indians should be placed on visa ban to the west at least for a short time. They are the highest immigrant everywhere Canada, us, uk, Australia. fgs they have their country why can’t they develop and make it enticing last time I check they are the 5th largest economy. Don’t get it twisted, this visa issue is also a commercial thing, how can you ban your largest market share. See it’s great subsidy for any nation to get into their country talents they never invested into to become tax payers in the country at no cost at all. Who is the mugu that will let that go. The benefits outweigh all the whining. For free you get doctors, nurses, techies you never spent a dime on to come into your country and you tax them to their death. Free ROI just like that. |

jedisco: On a final note, it's quite funny how quickly things went full circle. Elon wants numbers increased, Vivek wants wider national quotas eliminated. Its clear where this is headed and MAGAs knowing their capitalists well are having none of it.
They said is they want to increase it to 0.1 % of 'top talent'. What percentage is it now- 0.001?
Same Twitter/X and co that have laid off thousands of 'top-talent' workers
I also gather some of that 'top engineering talent' worked in Trumps properties - perhaps as a tech bros
The good thing is North America favoure family migration with citizenship by birth. Can wait for top 0.1% of engineers, farmers, carers and even hookup staff to arrive. I wish Elon well in this fight H1b is not for any 0.1% Elon can keep deceiving himself, O1 visas and other employment based green card categories takes care of that. H1b is for temporary workers. The capitalists are in need of temporary workers to do all the grind all those whiners can’t. Funny enough h1b is not even easy to get so I wonder why all the hue and cry, their dependents can’t even work except the main applicant gets a green card approval while waiting to adjust status. But because as usual just like here in the uk folks are generally ignorant of visas and their requirements and how they truly impact the economy they just lump every immigrant into the same category and blame them for their woes. H1b is one of the most regulated visa category in America and just about a 100,000 scale through yearly for an economy of the size of America. So much lies out there about h1b. I just hope it’s not a mind game the capitalists are trying to play with their fellow citizens by distracting them from the illegal border crossing the govt should focus on cos those undocumented ones are what capitalists actually take advantage of for their cheap labour including baba trump himself. We wait and see. |

Odunayaw: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fined the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) $50,000 and ordered the country to play two matches behind closed doors.
In a statement on Sunday, CAF charged Libya with “misconduct” during and after the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification game against the Benin Republic in Tripoli on November 18.

For Vivek, its quite sad how his support base who hailed him for 'speaking the truth' are now debasing him. Unlike Elon who is threatening war, he can't even take it up to them. He's rather deleting posts.
Elon has already started curtailing some on Twitter. They should migrate to Truth Social.
You penultimate paragraph is the reason why we need to stop caring about somethings folks think about us. Nobody wants us here. We're here because we're needed. Its also the reason why I'm unapologetic about legal migration- each should do as they see fit. 😂 so much for ‘You’re now the media’ and all the ‘protection of free speech’ partygoers. I wonder how many here actually think Vivek was saying the inconvenient truth. Hope Kemi is learning- for the inevitable day she's forced to say the 'truth' what he said made me remember Ben Carson's book; 'Gifted Hands' where he said that Michael Jordan's picture on a popular brand product is becoming more popular as a model to younger genrations than an academic or a successful professor. True- Trump was able to galvanise support across board. However, its the strong financial backers that would determine most decisions. They may simply see the rest as numbers only useful as workers or in an election.
With time, all this would morph more into a class war. With owners of capital subtly favouring migration and workers against it. True but you see those Latinos no try them o just wait and see when those deportations go start na there yawa go gas 😜 |

jedisco: Capitalism is brutal as human greed is predictable. What's Elon/Vivek asking for- an expansion/reform of the H1B visa or do they just want it to remain in its current form and not be scrapped?
Elon and tech companies would ask for top engineering talent, farmers for top farming talent, hospitals for top medical talent, haulage companies for top driver talent... etc.. hehehe.. MAGAs know how e dey start and arent buying it.
Conservstism tends to promote a free market economy. In decades past they were able to do this without relying on migration as native population and productivity was still growing. There was also lots of low-hanging anti-migrant policies that have mostly since been adopted.
Let's watch and see. Wouldn't be surprised Canada has their own Boris Johnson moment with a new conservative leadership next year. Everybody go bear their papa name las las. The economy outlook is not smiling and if people voted for Trump to revamp the economy then that must be top priority or the midterms elections will go the way of the opposition like we saw in Trump first tenure. It’s a dicey one for the conservatives I must say |

[quote author=jedisco post=133488949]Oops! Green card to those who graduate from U.S colleges from day 1? Fingers crossed.
Did Trump actually say this? Why are MAGAs complaining then? The statement from their oga was clear.
This is not good news for the U.K. if the U.S starts a PSW-esque pathway or something better (bearing in mind they still have citizenship by birth). That wouldn't be good news for UKs education market. All said we need more competition in the post-graduate education market. Western nations should come forward with their A-game.
was a campaign rhetoric but alas na wetin dem go use hook Trump be this.
Politics is brutal as you have to say all manner of things to get the required numbers. The MAGA base couldn’t have delivered Trump back to the White House without huge support from other minorities like the Latinos, Arabs and black males. That mandate is not a MAGA mandate but a huge coalition of all varied aligned interests and with Trump aligning with Musk views on the h1b now that tells you it may be a different game now from his first tenure and remember the democrats are there to pick up from any slips as the republicans don’t really have that overwhelming numbers in the congress. |

Cyberknight: Watching in 3D. Let's see what Trump does as that will guide Farage accordingly. I think that Trump will come in and do some initial gra-gra, pluck some low-hanging fruit, then pay close attention to the business leaders who are telling him in no uncertain terms him to remember that the US functions on the back of low-paid labour. I just laugh 😆 about all these low paid labour thing. Folks wanna dictate to employers how much they can pay? Please kindly form your own company and pay yourself all the high wages you desire. Even Trump himself is using low paid labour. Your submission is on point, all initial gra gra. Not looking good for Farage, how do you collect huge donations from a pro-migration exponent. |

TheSuperNerd: Update on TheGoodJoe
NB: Please kindly put banters aside and take this seriously. Resist also the insensitive temptation to link this to Man City's current run of form. This is no joking matter, I plead
Now, I know a couple of monikers have been asking for weeks now about the whereabouts of TheGoodJoe. Truth is, I didn't want to share anything even though I knew all along what was happening with him and that is because I had not gotten his consent yet to share it (I have that now). He was going through a whole lot healthwise and I kept touch with him from the onset. I just didn't wanna bring something so sensitive and private without his consent to the thread.
About 2 weeks ago or so, TheGoodJoe suffered a diabetic mini-stroke that really knocked him down. It led to him entering a semi-coma which kept him bed ridden for days but now he is up and fine again and has even been discharged as recently as yesterday.
He is fine but still undergoing serious followup checks with his doctors and more.
Please, kindly channel some of your prayers 🙏🏽🙏🏽to TheGoodJoe's health. Pray that this diabetic episode won't see the last of him. It is well. Amen.
In all, TheGoodJoe is sound currently. He can walk again and move around. He couldn't as at several days and weeks back. He is okay but still needs checks to ensure no relapse occurs. We thank God for his Life.
He also wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year ahead. I knew something was wrong cos it’s unlike Oga Joe. Good to know he’s alive and recuperating. Thanks for this update and please send my personal and everyone’s regards to him. Please let him know we miss him dearly and can’t wait to have him back with his iconic fonts. |

Cyberknight: They can actually, if they put their minds to it. Nothing actually stops the UK from becoming a sort of Singapore-on-Thames if they so wished - just the political will to do so.
Britain's always had the fantasy that they could continue to have a mix of low[ish] taxes and first-world public services, straddling the ideological gap between the US and western Europe. Increasingly impossible to do in an increasingly financialised economy. The US functions largely on cheap immigrant labour. Healthcare and social care in the UK would break down without constant infusions of people at the lower end willing to work for the pay that's on offer which simply doesn't go very far.
The UK could decide to experiment with the model in most of western Europe, whack up taxes, increase pay, provide better public services, introduce health insurance for the better off, etc., but hasn't, with all the main parties hewing tightly to the status quo and just tinkering around the edges. It was basically the Tories, out of self-interest, who brought in this immigration increase with the aim of keeping wages and taxes low. It’s a uk thing and I doubt it will change soon. Remember it’s also a monarchy hence the conservatism. Merry Christmas 🎄 everyone! |
