Then you are either ignorant of the truth or being mischievous.
Tinubu introduced religion into SW politics after destroying the AD to form AC.
ok let's continue, shebi na this country we dey! so funny you guys are still accusing the man of destroying AD after how many years? You guys forget how obj deceived the other AD Governors in 2003. We get problem for sw, issokay continue to blame Tinubu you hear?

Blame Tinubu for that. He introduced religion into SW's politics by handpicking muslems like Aregbesola, Amosun, Fashola and Ajimobi.

CDC was a jihadist party yet Tinubu aligned the ACN with it to form APC.
you see our problem, religion is now an excuse to blame ourselves. Tinubu is not our problem but our way of thinking.

Love the loyal defiance displayed in these numbers. Anambra delivered for Obi, even though he is the No. 2 in similar way Katsina delivered for Buhari.

The poor standing of Atiku in Adamawa and to an extent Osinbajo in Ogun is not impressive from a political standpoint.
In the case of Atiku, it shows he is loved and despised at home in equal measure - and a consequence of that looks like an imminent loss.
In the case of Osinbajo, it shows he has relatively no political clout and he cannot say he contributed anything politically to the apparently victorious ticket. That is a not a good bargaining chip in a "wetin you contribute sef" type of democracy Nigeria operates.

You don't need to be told how the emerging northern federal government would posture towards the SW.
The SE are already used to it by now, so they would shrug and get on with it with indifference.
The southern region that would benefit ironically from this all would be the SS.
This is an objective and balanced political analyis but my sw brothers go still dey blow grammar all in the name stupid conscience.

What Atiku could not get in his comfort zone but now relying on the popularity of others to get him block votes. It was Adamawa results that made me conclude Atiku is not as popular as we always see him. Someone that couldn't defeat GMB with a wide margin in his strongest point. He is over hype politician.
you are very right, the day I saw the pic of youths washing the road after atiku visited his traditional ruler, I knew he wasn't that popular back home. That was not a good sight to behold for a former VP is the first place

He sank the economy by refusing to devalue the naira . For some reason buhari didn't know that the precious naira he sought to devalue was already devalued on the black market . This lead to a massive capital flight .companies shut down . Inflation was roaring.
and what is our present state now?

I honestly feel bad that some Yorubas even came here to support this man. I am Igbo and I think SW is the only region in Nigeria that votes out of conscience not religion, ethnicity or hatred and this man is talking trash yet some of the so called people he is abusing is supporting him. I think this is quite sad, you don't have to be cowards or force affilations with people that use you.
Politics is give and take bruv, if some people have been fair to you, it's only normal you reciprocate in good returns, did the yorubas complain of marginalisation under PMB like they did under GEJ. Did the igbos not not make GEJ their hero fro giving them all the 'juicy appointments' to use their own vocabulary

We try to be too leaglistic at times. Politics is a game and fair is fair.

Only in a backward sh*hole like Nigeria does one find politicians stupid enough to openly talk of a region "betraying" them by voting for someone else, as if the voters were the ones with an obligation to the politicians, rather than the onus being on the politicians themselves to show themselves deserving of voter support!

If Buhari has failed to receive the same support from the SW as he did in 2015, then he has only himself to blame; he waited 6 months to appoint a cabinet when he should have been ready to do so on the day of his election, he then spent most of the following year receiving treatment in London for a mystery illness he's still yet to disclose, and on his return he capped this dismal record by insisting on a wrong-headed "strong Naira" policy that drove away FDI and sank the economy. Just because he gave "juicy" appointments to a few lucky politicians, and borrowed lots of Chinese money to start work on a railway line that ought to have been completed before the unviable Kaduna-Abuja portion, a few northern political hacks think all Yorubas should be ignoring the economic wreckage Buhari has wrought?

Given Buhari's atrocious record, by all rights this election should have been a walkover for the PDP, if only they'd bothered to select a new face with credibility. Luckily for Buhari and his camp, the PDP insisted on repeating its old mistakes by selecting Atiku, another septuagenarian with a well-earned reputation for misusing his offices for self-enrichment. It's almost as if the PDP bigwigs were deliberately trying to guarantee Buhari another 4 years!
how did PMB sank the economy? am open to this debate cos I think this narrative is false. Lots of misconceptions out there, yea we were in recession but we came out of it, so how did the economy sink? Despite this false narrative by the pdp, they have struggled in places where we expected a clean sweep.

When did the north ever hve plans to cede power to the south. Obj was an act of compensation not because they wanted to. Which is why they started sharia law and the crisis that followed. Mind u shagari, gmb, ibb, abacha, abdulsalam were in power, yet d north did not call 4 sharia law until obj bcame president.
the best way to wrest power is to have the numbers and deliver them when it matters most. we in the south are yet to understand this game of politics

yes we are stupid, we don't know what we are doing, aregbesola and ajimobi have finished their tenures, what is wrong wth our people, must we always be blinded by our bitterness. Akeredolu a supposed SAN has messed up all because of over bloated egos. Can't we be futuristic in our thinking and calculations?

We say the SE are not Strategic, you know what they are gradually learning fast but we in the SW are loosing it fast

abbey621:
The only reason 'O to ge' succeeded in Kwara is th fact that the opposition was far better than Saraki. In Lagos, this is not the case. Tinubu is very smart, he does not rule with absolute tyranny, he listens. When he wanted to replace Fashola, he listened to the people and changed his mind, when the people and party members got tired of Ambode, he listened and made the necessary adjustment. All it takes is for Sanwo-Olu to replicate what Fashola did and Tinubu's psoition would be cemented for another 8 years, hate him or love him, he is truly Jagaban!
@the bolded, this is what a lot of non yorubas have refused to understand. Obafemi Hamzat once gave a story how he and other commisioners were arguing with tinubu as governor in his office and a south south governor walked in and asked tinubu who were those arguing with him, tinubu told them they were commisioners and the south south governor was stunned and could not believe his eyes. He said tinubu told the ss governor that this is how they do governance here. Lagos is one of the most democratic states in pratcice but the narrative put out there is that of a trynanny which does not exist at all in the way Lagos has been managed under the APC

You are wrong. Tinubu did narrriiin. Lagos has always has that natural tendencies to be ahead. It has nothing to do with Tinubu.
this is the problem you guys have, do you know the kind of investments the man keeps attracting into the state thereby boosting economic activities? The Dangote refinery had no business to be in Lagos in the first place but was initially planned to be in Ondo state until things went sour btw the then Ondo governor and dangote. With Tinubu and Fashola, they brought Dangote in and The Dangote refinery is a major reason for the real estate boom in the ibeju lekkki corridor right now.

The Tinubu's cabal in Lagos are master strategists in attracting all sorts of investments into the state. call them thieves but they keep on delivering

The economy is in a dreadful state and that's why they are voting for Atiku. Last year, the economy only grew by 1.81%, not even up to the population growth rate of 2.5%. That means Nigerians we're poorer.

The country needs to grow by 7% just to create enough jobs for those entering the labour market for the first time.

From 1999- 2012, the economy grew by 6% yearly AND GDP doubled and middle class grew.

Buhari's poor handling of the economic downturn brought an extremely severe recession that led to the loss of 11m jobs. Lamido Sanusi , Soludo and other economists were warning him that those policies have not worked anywhere in the world but he wouldn't listen.

As Amaech said, he listens to no one. He has only himself to blame
So we were in Dubai before PMB came? Una lies need Nobel prize

Oga, if you're Yoruba and still reasoning like this, I must say you're really daft. Some People lost their jobs during the era of pdp, we had poor people during the era of pdp. Apc has had just four years of the presidency, yet you're ungrateful in spite of their achievements. Do you think igbos are fools and won't vote their son, obi? If you think Nigeria will be better under atiku, you're daft2, sir. Learn to support your own too, protect your territory. Jeez. I would expect you to know better as a man.

They call you sophisticated morons and you're acting the part? Continue.
Honestly those sophisticated morons are the ones the ignorant folks attacking the igbos suppose to attack. The happenings today in Lagos is a big disgrace of how things are so bad in the SW, the igbos have no reason to be attacked and have every reason to be vote for their own. Those sophisticated morons are actually the ones to be flogged and dragged in the streets cos yorubas still have the numbers in Lagos to swing the votes but we have a lot of sell outs among us in the name of sophistication.
