This seems laudable but will the Nigerian factor ever allow it to sail through? I trust civil servants in the petroleum industry, if there is nothing in the sack for them, they will not allow it to sail through.

Whereas, this is supposed to be their work, they are supposed to be the think tank of the govt, proposing ideas on now the country can maximise its gains and reduce wastage.

See front page thread still on page 0 hours after hitting front page; basically because it is not a tribal/religious/political issue. lol

And we'd be abusing our political leaders that discussions are not issue-based, even when the citizens don't engage in such high intellectual discussions, all that people do is to complain, complain, complain and throw abuses.
it shows how backwards we still are especially our so called youths, instead of them taking up courses online on digital transformation and digital marketing, they will be online arguing about islamization and other nonsense. we are joking about our future cos lots of our youths will wake up tomorrow to see there are no jobs except for those with digital skills.

Can you kindly list the Atiku goons?

Because the administration is full of far too many goons to get a correct assessment of any chieftain. Many of them switching loyalty depending on what may be happening at any point in time.

You can't say because some of Tinubu's goons are in the government, so it means Tinubu is an eff-up.

You are simply making moot points, because there are no real points to discredit my position.

Anyway let's leave it at that. Who debate epp? In the end, it ain't down to either of us who becomes the President.

-Lord
are you not ware of the three factions that make up APC; CPC NPDP and ACN. Who do you think is the leader of the NPDP? and who controls the national assembly? who make up the national assembly leadership? you think atiku's guys are not in FEC or holds sensitive positions in govt, why do you think they can't get rid of alhassan after her public declaration for atiku? am still making moot points right? why do you think atiku is making so much noise now?

You guys had always believed tinubu is an eff up because he supported PMB but you guys fail to realize and appreciate that some other interests are so visible too. I know you are very much aware but you think so many are not aware of the points I have listed. Atiku's hands are very visible in this govt and many of us know it.

Detribalized and moderate are synonyms in the context of my replies. If you can't comprehend don't bother to reply.

I've given you three tries to disprove my comments and you're still beating around the bush. Disprove my comments or stop replying me.

We're not yet talking about the possibility of Atiku winning. That's a different kettle of fish. We're talking about his candidacy versus the other Northern aspirants. I'm saying he is the best choice, you're saying otherwise. I've asked you to back your statements, and you've been dancing about.

A fowl would win the presidency if certain people support it, that is not up for contention. Atiku is only a hard sell to the Northern majority that only want Northern bigots in power and the Southern lackeys who don't care who's in charge as long as the crumbs keep falling.

Atiku is only advancing his candidature for now, the 3 generals have not made up their mind yet. They'd do so next year and every Northern candidate is using between now and then to make their positions known. Atiku only appears to be the outspoken one because he can afford to.

Lamido tried it, CPC arrested him. Kwankwaso tried it, CPC ransacked the house of his brother. el-Rufai tried it, CPC opened his can of worms, and he had to quickly declare fealty to Buhari. CPC actually pre-empted Atiku by going after INTELS, Atiku is only responding in kind.

Let's talk about the candidature now, chances of winning would be the whole topic of 2018.

-Lord
you are the one that has refused to see my points like you normally do on this forum cos you are all knowing by your own standard. One of my points is that the present administration is full of atiku goons and that they will only continue from where they stop, you pretend as if you didn't see that one cos you are the all knowing one. Your problem is you always want to win any debate by force despite the opposing views, someone else has also been giving points to counter you still you continue to prove you know better. I have given my points already to prove that the moderate fulani status you are giving atiku na wash. it's up to you to take it or not. But if you are truly reading other people's comments, you will see that not many are sold on this your atiku candidature. There are lots of business interests involved in the atiku thing, whether those interests can risk their business with an atiku candidature remains to be seen but pls I don't intend to be a winner in any debate. like I said earlier, if you love atiku as a person, leave it at that but that he is a better northerner than others is what cannot sell and pls mind your words on me, we've been civil on each other so far but using words like I can't comprehend is unacceptable. Thanks

I feel your pain on this topic, man, and believe me, we are largely on the same page.

My point remains that no matter how the president wants it, if the generality of his party don't support it, the president can't restructure the federation. Hence you must not fall for mere sloganeering less you end up dissapointed in an eight years' Atiku reign with no restructuring.

So after listening to your preferred candidate say the right things, listen to his lieutenants, his party members etc because ultimately, the real power that can restructure Nigeria is the national assembly and not the presidency.

That said, you must realise that I am not sold on these whole Atiku thing. It is bad market, as bad as Fayose, and therefore our real presidential aspirants are yet to emerge. The charlatans may reign now but hopefully serious candidates will emerge later.
This has been one of my major points on restructuring, until the national assembly is ready, na noise we dey make. We all know that the choristers of restructuring just sees it as the shortest route back to aso rock especially from the parrots' mouths of ffk and fayose grin

Stop getting unnecessarily agitated, naija, you need to shine your eyes. APC was shouting 'Change', 'Change' now we can see that change has different meanings, Buhari is shouting corruption, Nass are saying something else, the Northern Cabal have their own change, Tinubu and the west have their own change, but we the masses thought the change is about Nigeria and making things better. It's all politics, 'Restructuring' is sounding alot like change, Atiku has is own meaning wish is 'Restructure me to government', there's a version he's telling the masses, then his party will have their own versions, either APC or pdp or another party, then the north will have their own versions and all other geopolitical zones....it's a complex hopeless country, you can't just take politician by what they say.

I beg to differ, northerners are not afraid of any break up; they were the first to call for it and even repeat same through the Lamido of Adamawa at the GEJ's 2014 sponsored national conference.

In fact currently, the average northerner prefers it, especially after the resurgence of the ongoing insulting IPOB agitations - its only the elites within the north clinging to One Nigeria; otherwise we are tired of dishonest co-travellers who expect the rules of the game be changed midway in the match whenever a goal is scored or about to be scored against them; but otherwise would be quite happy to take a penalty when it favours them..

Oga, bring proof and you're talking about anecdotes.

You want me to ignore a Fulani who brought an American University to the North for a Fulani who paid other Fulanis to massacre non-Fulanis?

Grazing bills are dead on arrival. If Buhari can't enforce it on the whole country, not even Dan Fodio can. Atiku can try, but he'll fail.

A Fulani is a Fulani, but there are moderate Fulanis like there are moderate Igbos (the ones who don't want secession but restructuring). Atiku is a moderate Fulani. The others are extremists. That is the point.

For example, Kanu is a far right Igbo. Ezekwesili is a moderate Igbo. Kanu wants secession, Ezekwesili want restructuring. Both of them detest the Operation Python Dance in the South East.

I've gone at length to point out why Atiku is different from the other aspirants. Now can you prove otherwise with facts to back your points?

-Lord
from detribalized fulani to moderate fulani, I laugh in spanish grin guy I know you are talking politics and let's leave it at that. Atiku is a hard sell and you know what? try and get folks like obj, danjuma, abubakar and ibb to buy into your atiku dream or else it's dead on arrival. You need at least three of those guys support and you will be fine, all these ones wey me and u de talk for nairaland, na wash. It took the support of those guys for PMB to be president and they will also decide who will be next, even atiku himself know say na noise e de make without those guys' support. like it or not, that's how politics roll in Nigeria. If your GEJ had those guy's support, he will still be president by now. chikena

Atiku is a detribalized Fulani. A northern candidate would emerge as the President in 2019, we only have to choose which is better. And Atiku is the best choice from a Southern POV. Northerners have a lot to choose from, from the bigot-in-chief (Buhari), to the one who always bails Fulani criminals in the South (Kwankwaso), to the one who pays his brothers to kill non-Fulanis (el-Rufai).

Atiku is a Fulani we can manage, the others can go f*ck themselves.

I have not seen anything in your comment that negates mine yet you seem to wana attack me. I said PDP was opposed to restructure in their 16 years' in power, you say they organized 2 conferences. Yes, OBJ and GEJ organized 2 conferences...OBJ's obviously with the sole desire to extend his stay in office which thankfully failed. GEJ spent 6 years in office and only organized a conference at the tail end of it. Still, the main conclusion of this conference was to create additional 16 states to take our current struture to 52 states, with 52 governors, deputies, assemblies, and a whole retinue of commissioners, assisstants, special assisstants and senior special assisstants!

Is this your idea of restructuring Nigeria?

He may not. But compared to Buhari, Kwankwaso, el Rufai, Dakwambo, he is the only Northern candidate most likely to go ahead with it. That's a chance I'm prepared to take. Half bread is better than none.

APC wasn't part of the GEJ Nat'l Conference so I knew the restructuring they were chanting in 2014 was a moot point, and I was right on the money. Atiku has been part of the Constitutional Conferences in 1995 and 2005 and both times he supported the call for a return to regionalism. That is consistency.

-Lord
Believe Atiku at your own peril, all the folks you are comparing Atiku to are all the same. No northern candidate will never favour restructuring, Atiku is simply looking for votes. If you say you love atiku just leave it at that, but to base your atiku love on the restructuring song is purely deceit. Both Atiku and PMB are fulanis which you guys detest so much.

If Atiku mistakenly gets into as rock again, trust me he will deny all what is saying now, even APC at a time denied the manifesto they used during their campaign

Restructuring Nigeria cannot work as a political promise of a presidential aspirant alone. It can only be successful as verifiable manifesto of a political party who eventually wins an election.

We have seen from the current administration's problems that the body language of the president and his desires to fight corruption is balderdash if the entire party do not embrace such project as doctrine.

Atiku wants to campaign on the basis of restructuring Nigeria and that is a good idea, although the man himself is a difficult market to sell. However, which of the political parties have adopted restructuring of Nigeria as their manifesto, doctrine and contract with the electorate should they win at the polls? Surely not APC, with many of the Northern goons single the opposite tune. PDP itself as a party had perenially been opposed to restructuring Nigeria when they were in power. Is the PDP for restructuring now? Has the party adopted such stance yet? Unfortunately, the answer is no.

So, fellow citizens, please ignore the individual on this restructuring slogan unless his party adopts same because in our democracy, the president can't do shiit except the national assembly supports the move. And please, excuse my French.
that is politicians for you, their way knows no bounds, a muslim will be ready to deny his religion to get more votes, likewise a christian too as far he is a politicians, I hope Nigerians will not be fooled
