LordAdam: I wouldn't bother myself debating about the person/group behind the operation. I suppose Ayade also asked for the military to enter Cross Rivers abi?
Buhari gave a broadcast were he warned he wouldn't tolerate calls for secession. Days later he had a meeting with military chiefs. Days later the operation was announced. And days back the operation commenced. All of these were captured by the media.
Maybe I'm missing something, but at what point did the SE governors request for the military?
See why I said I wouldn't debate this with you. The architect of this mishap is visible to the blind, yet you can't see it. Well done!
-Lord you will understand better as the days goes by cos to you guys PMB is to be blamed for everything! |
Politics › Re: Army To Withdraw From Streets Of Abia State Tomorrow. Ikpeazu by Goke7: 8:08pm On Sep 14, 2017 |
LordAdam: And the same elite condemned the military operation?
Read the news of the SE caucus of the Nat'l Assembly and Ohaneze Ndigbo condemning the operation.
PMB and the North are on the issue because there have been no reprisal or follow-up in the North, which is a standard occurrence with this sort of issue. It is a co-ordinated attempt that has backfired.
Igbo elites know the operation is a bad idea, which is why they implored the governors to sit with Kanu. And Obiano was apologizing about the IPOB killings of last year in Anambra. For crying out loud, the second meeting between Kanu and the governors was to hold tomorrow. Kanu called that off yesterday, today Ikpeazu is announcing the premature withdrawal of the military. Do you think it is a coincidence.
Buhari just keep making a fool of himself with very silly decisions. That's how he was ranting about dealing with militants in the Delta. Just small play wen we play with am, crash the economy for a few months, he send Osinbajo mk he come beg. Ask yourself, was any NDA militant arrested? You guys went from macho men threatening fire and brimstone to environmental activists worried about the effect of oil spills from blown up pipelines.
British Foreign Secretary warned the mofo not to use force in the Niger Delta. UN asked for the Arewa Youths to be arrested for the quit notice. You think all of this is random? The time of impunity by the Northern hegemony is over, the crude tactics of yester years won't work today. Give everyone a fair representation or let everyone find his/her bearing.
-Lord They only made those political statements to give the impression that they are not in support. The President can never order the military to go into any state without the consent of the Governor, read Ikpeazu's statement again, why did he imposed a curfew immediately the operation started. This is why they met kanu initially now to make him drop the agitations. If you read what the governor said, he is insisting that protests and other rallies will not be held again. This is different from Niger delta problem, is the FG owing kanu and his followers any thing, have they been interacting before? Kanu is no threat to PMB or APC, they don't need SE votes to remain in power. The SE politicians fortune is at stake, even ohaneze started retreating from Kanu's agitation when he started singing about the anambra election boycott. Ohaneze can't take their eyes off the goodwill from politicians. They have plan B already if kanu does not back down. This is no northern issue, have the SE politicians not been appealing to kanu before now? |
Politics › Re: Army To Withdraw From Streets Of Abia State Tomorrow. Ikpeazu by Goke7: 6:25pm On Sep 14, 2017 |
LordAdam: Unless you've been living under a rock, hundreds of IPOB members were killed in 2016. If they didn't change strategy then, why do you think they would now?
You guys just gave him a perfect excuse to continue ranting.
This is not a military regime. And this is not 1967 where news take days to register and cover-ups were easy-peasy.
The Army was hoping to do a Zahkazy on Kanu and thinking everything would go on as usual. How did you guys let an unemployed riff-raff with a radio station become an household name? Think!
Now the North is saying the plan of Kanu and his backers is to topple Buhari. Sorry, but was it not too long ago that they gave the impression that Buhari and the North were invincible and could not be challenged?
-Lord Oga the Igbo elites are the ones dealing with ipob now, pmb ant the north are not the issue, elections are close and the Igbo governors and other politicians can't afford kanu as an obstacle to their mega bucks. This is the first warning, if kanu does not retreat, they have plan b |

Billyonaire: I am not excited about the plan to remove the soldiers from the streets of Abia State. They sent soldiers there for war, let them continue the war. I keep asking myself; Why would a President deploy soldiers to a peaceful state. Not even riot policemen, cos there was no riot, he deployed a country's military battalion on his own citizens in a democratic country without the approval of the Senate.
What sought of country is this ? And all the Igbo elites keep their stupid mouths shut. The Igbo elites kept their mouth shut cos they are the ones who actually requested for the military since they have appealing to KANU all to no avail. Can ipob foot the bills of the elites? You fellows think pmb is the problem? Kanu is threatening the fortunes of the Igbo elites and they are having none of it. This is just the first warning |

Opakan2: Playing opposition is strange to them.. Moreover, Yorubas have always been at the receiving end of all their atrocities while they go about romancing the North for crumbs.
Not like the region benefited anything from GEJ's 6 years of misrule, nothing there has changed. Yet they won't give way for others to try their best.
They are well known bigots so I'm not surprised. They feel they are better than others and must be the ones dictating all the tunes.
Let their Diegos up North sort things out with them.. I'm not bothered Pioneering Politics have never been their game. They prefer ready made all the time, always want to claim what they don't work for. They despised PMB during his campaign but want juicy appointments from him when those who even contributed funds for PMB's election are yet to be rewarded for their efforts. CuteMorriz: ...what people like you don't know is, if there is chaos in any part of the country it affects us all. Since the bokoharam intensified we have had an immense drop in production here in lagos. I work with one of largest fcmg in Nigeria. And some workers were affected. Termination of employment. We produced 1bn tins of product in 2014, 900 bn in 2015 and just around 500million in the 9th month...the thing is if there is chaos in the south east you have lost about 15 million potential consumers...it will affect you as long as you live in naija. Yes you may not lose a relative but what is death afterall...just a matter of time and we are all gone. If SE goes into crisis, all its business will shrink. Banks there will pack up and it will affect profit so in lagos they will downsize same with Nestlé cadbury MTN glo and what have you... and who is responsible for this crisis, me? have they not been pacified several times |

successman1234: hear yourself talk, are you making any sense.
You seem to forget the biafara war was on the igbo land and the casualties of the war were the IGBOs, the north and western part of nigeria was very peaceful and business was as usual.
WAR is no good for anybody.
I also wonder what all the prominent igbo men and women are doing, they all seem to be quiet about what his happening.
They forget this is their land and their future.
The truth is the 2 parties and not taking the right steps to solve the problem.
it is true the igbos have been marginalised, however it is not just the igbos, there are many other tribes who have been.
What nnamdi kanu is doing is wrong, and totally unacceptable. have you watched most of the people rallying round him, they are all jobless, unemployed and many uneducated.
when will these all end? has he considered his brothers in the Northern states and how retaliation could have a severe repercussion.
Buhari himself is also very guilty of the problem on ground today. some of his wrong deeds include , loop-sided appointments, not carry the eastern state along and the ordering of NNPC to commence oil search in the north and his over reliance of his military
Buhari should also not forget his inauguration speech" i am for everybody and for nobody"
A true leader is supposed to be sellfless and non bias, those who established the quota system had a reason for it. so as to enable unity.
Buhari is supposed to summon the prominent igbo men in his party, send them to the eastern reigion to here the reason for the agitation
in as much as the south eastern state didnt vote for him, he is the president of the nation and not the president of the North hence he needs to see the east as part of his country.
what we have here is an ideology problem and the only way to permanently fix it, is rational analytical thinking and then taking bold and daring steps.
The millitary should be the last resort.
If i were him i would do a major cabninet shakeup. involve the igbos and other tribes in more in my government.
Also I dont remember buhari visiting the east after being president, sending osibanjo is not the same as the commander in chief being present.
Go personally to all the south eastern state and try to relate with the people on the street, assure them i am aware of their neglect and take immediate steps in fixing them.
Take immediate steps in building infrastructures such as int airport, sea port etc in the south east. I will also personally speak to the people likes soludo, osita and prominent Igbo Nigerians who spoke when nnamdi was in Jail for his release, to go talk sense into his head.
I will order the court to speed up the case on nnamdi kanu, and if possible influence the court to revoke his bail since he has flaunted all the bail conditions given to him.
NNamdi kanu's actions are wrong, could lead to genocide.
He is not strategic and also not very well coordinated. he needs to look at the over all implications of his actions. Nigeria is big and very complex.
if things get out of hands, britain , US or the UN wont send troops over to Nigeria. These countries like Nigeria as Nigeria because of it large population which possess as a large market for their goods. I am 85 percent certain they have no sympathy for biafara.
I also wonder how come these so called IPOB doesnt have issues with it governors and just the federal Government.
Also I wonder why the state governor is so quiet and silent on how IPOB has been coordinating it affairs.
he as a governor can not be enjoying the dividends of Nigeria and yet fail to take steps.
He needs to enter and agreement with FGN. the igbos don't listen to their elders, leaders or politicians, efforts have made to pacify them over the past few months but they won't listen to anyone |
