Without mincing words, one can confidently say that the southwest is simply the most peaceful region in the country..... Call them Afonja or whatever. The yorubas are peace loving people worldwide. Lest, I forget, education is indeed a light. When u r literate, u behave with some sort of rare distinction.

I've never been the one that talk on tribal issues but I love the Yorubas. I schooled in the south-south, Edo state to be precise. I have been so fortunate to interact with peace loving individuals. Edo state is the most peaceful state in the South-south region. I passionately love the Binis and generally the Edos as a people. They love themselves too amidst the disparity in cultural heritage.
very right, I grew up in Benin, did primary and secondary education there. The Edo culture is very close to that of the SW, they even share so many things in common and they embrace education too like the SW, reason they are very peaceful as you said.

I think the root of the problem of the SE is the culture of not listening to their elders which is were the SW and even the SS differs. All entreaties to Kanu by the SE elders have fallen on deaf ears which is the reason things are getting worse. As bad as you think the north is, when their elders talk, their youths listen which is why they even withdrew their quit notice but the SE youths don't listen to their elders.

He knows the implication ,the governors too gave kanu too much recognition and attention . The next riot will attract a state of emergency and the army will take over the state. The governor knows this and that is whyhe wants to prevent it from happening. Many ppl boasting online of war or confrontation with the army are not even in the affected areas that is why it is very easy for them to be saying rubbish online. Those who are in the affected places will be praying for a quick return to normalcy.
Am even of the opinion that it was the SE Governors who suggested the military intervention since all their entreaties to Kanu has fallen on deaf ears. Kanu is more of a threat to the SE politicians than to rest of Nigeria. The SE Governors, senators and others have their political fortune at stake with the continuous madness from IPOB. The curfew imposed by the Governor and this meeting lays credence to this. They have to find a way to whittle down Kanu's influence unless all their security votes and bogus allowances are about to vanish.

I am not an advocate of bloodletting but truth be told, the quest for a more balanced nation has led to the loss of Nigerian blood and except it is restructured now may lead to more bloodshed.

The senate of Nigeria has asked the federal government to forward the 2014 confab report for consideration and possible legislation but this government has refused, signalling it's unwillingness to do anything that will tinker with this lousy lopsidded federation we call Nigeria.
Then the senate has the right to impeach the President if they feel it's of serious national importance but are you sure the senate themselves are serious? No headway until our constitution is revised and amended. Politicians don't really care about bloodshed , you know how many lives have gone with book haram? Life goes on dear, tell your SE peeps to have plans for their personal lives and move on. Another option is to seek citizenship of another country. Biafra is a dream and youthful exuberance that can't last

But the problem is their leaders are not in support. Even Obiano is not in support of Biafra but the Igbos will still vote him in for a second term. Me i dont know how they can get this Biafra oo, but i support them sha
how can obiano support with all the security vote he is enjoying, how can ikweremadu support biafra with all the bogus allowances he is getting? the biafra ish is just a blackmail to get a short cut for an igbo presidency that they are not ready to work for.

The arewa youth even helped their cause by giving them quit notice but they shouted till the fellows withdrew their notice. So do they really want biafra as they are screaming? It's all about political blackmail to get forced attention and many of us are fed with such childish antics

If you have sense you should know that Buhari is not the first Northern or Katsina born President to rule Nigeria and that politicians of Igbo extraction has been losing presidential elections in this country.
The quest for restructuring Nigeria did not start today and will continue to get louder by the day, it is only little minded individuals that will reduce decades long agitation by mainly the SS and SE to a political personality issue.

Buhari elevated the agitation to a different dimension with his bigotry, and be rest assured that as long as Nigeria remains like, this the clamour for restructuring, referendum or true-federalism, will continue and get louder, if not bloodier.
only the legislature can guarantee that, all the shouts about restructuring or referendum are just mere rhetoric until the legislature amends our constitution, getting bloodier is a joke too far cos we are not yet a banana republic. We have laws and anyone who wants to mess up will have himself to blame. Even MKO Abiola who won a free and fair election that was not finalized by his declaration by the NEC then was not spared by our laws when he unconstitutionally declared himself as President. That's how thick Nigeria is.

There are actions taken by FG/NA on the recent biafra issue which I condemn such as given unnecessary attention to the fraudster P/I manager and also causing mayhem by deploying massive troops to their territory as if they want to attack a repulsive terrorists ( though they might boomerang to that level one day if care is not taken).

However, the OP case is that of someone playing a victim card. Burning dangote trucks, attacking innocent northerners and others are barbaric act not forgetting these useless IPOB pigs have their hardworking relatives in the northern part of the country sending money for their monthly upkeep.

Why not channel their frustration to PMB by staging a peaceful protest at FCT and speak to their legislatures, governors and spokesmen in the east to dialogue with the FG instead of building soar relationship with their senseless agitation.

If biafra is achieved today based on this spiteful relationship, what about their investment in Nigeria? What about bilateral business relationship? What about the issue of citizenship and co? The case of south Sudan should come to mind.

Yes I support they get their biafra but the way it's being done is not just wrong but full with ignorance and arrogance.
the biafra ish can never see the light of day for as long as the SE Governors keep collecting security votes and their legislators keep collecting those bogus allowances. What those small children from the SE don't realize is that the military invasion has the blessing of the SE Governors and all their political elites, they can't jettison their political mega bucks for some miscreants who call themselves freedom fighters. kolewerk

wheew, let me start with the obvious ones. First and foremost, for igbos to travel out of nigeria they'll have to go to lagos or abuja. Do i even talk about the onitsha or aba igbo trader who must use the apapa pirts to bring in his goods inteads of onitsha or onne ports thereby spending extra millions to transport those goods from lagos to the east. An anambra igbo student must get atleast 135 in jamb to gain admission to the university but an hausa man in the north only needs 2. What of all the federal roads in the east? Do you know what the average igbo person go through in the hands of the army and custom and police roadblocks when traveling from other parts of the country to the east. Do you know how many innocent igbo youths that are killed in the east by members of the police and SARS just for being outside late in the night? It goes on and on. Most police officers in anambra are not even igbos. The police heads in my local government is hausa. They treat igbo youths like trash. Let me stop here for now. The igbos in the east are going through a lot in the hands of the police and the army. These things are hidden from those outside igboland. Thats why the igbos that live in the east are all in with nnamdi kanu.
all what is stated here is similar to what other ethnic groups are facing too. Nothing special here

Elections are coming and Nigerian politicians got no chills, even the SE politicians are too desperate to allow Kanu and his followers pour sand into their garri. Its all about interests. kanu has threatened the coming elections even in the SE and the politicians will have none of that.

Nigerian Politicians got no time for human rights when its an obstacle on their way

SBG04:
I'm sure your comparison is ironic. You probably mean his government looted so much that no other can loot better. Diezanis cross country intercontinental looting is unparalleled in Nigeria's history. For the first time since the days of Abacha, we have the UKs international crimes office, the US department of Justice, the Swiss government and the Nigerian government working in concert to investigate and prosecute a former Nigerian government official (Diezani Maduekwe) who was Jonathan's cash cow for the 2015 elections. He used her to steal money for the elections and when she was caught, he left the woman to hang high and dry, even after she came out as having cancer. The bastard called Jonathan didn't have the honour to stand by the woman he used to steal money. He has left her to die in prison in London and take the fall for all his crimes. The most dishonorable President in Nigeria's history.

our youths should wise up, we are in the era of virtual offices, any company can operate from anywhere in the world. i don't think many young folks have heard about 'digital disruption of the workplace'. All these talks of relocating headquarter offices is archaic in these era of digital transformation. Those multinationals are not fools o. They can even even relocate their national headquarters back to their countries of origin and still operate. How many companies these days are still spending billions to build offices? Times have changed o!

so u are this daft that u can't read in between the lines that this your agitation has been politicised, during GEJ regime the Hausa's used Boko Haram n chibok girls scandal to destabilize his government n now since an Hausa man is d president that's y those pdp politicians that lost to Hausa's are using biafra struggle to destabilize buhari government too. it's do me I do u of politics, all I pity is those people who are willing to sacrifice there life to political manipulation because as Boko Haram has silently faded away when buhari became president is the same way biafra struggle will gradually fade away when pdp takes over but I just pity the number of igbos that would have gone 6 feet down b4 they realize the politics of biafra agitation
this has always been my view, the secession agitations and calls for restructuring are just political cries with no sincerity. When all those who are making these calls get into power, it will surely fade away
