walex2: Thank for your bravity and shame to stupid people and educated illiterate who blame the presidency for the corrupt NASS led by the most corrupt Senate president in the whole world. How on earth will Nass not passing the Budger for good 3 months? Remove all the padded figure and pass the figure you think is appropriate. That is the reason we called it just an appropriation bill, and become a budget after the input of the National assembly and the final assent by the president. As a Christian I believe Buhari will make heaven for what he stands for, while most people who call themselves Christians will need a repentance if there were opportunities, never again would a minister bribe any legislators before passing of budget, never again would a corrupt president lead Nigerians, never again would any body use a bargaining chip to cover his corrupt past rather than defending himself. Buhari I believe in you and may God continue to bless you, you are the only one that can save us from this mess. Ignore my typing standard i'm too angry to construct any article That is what is expected by the senate but unfortunately they can't give what they don't have which is credibility. Saraki cct trial is more important than the budget at this time |

We're still using NOI template, when did Kemi come up with any policy? We all know the padded corruption laden first budget under Kemi. Watch as Kemi is demoted back to being a state finance commissioner, she took a job above her skill level. The NOI template that turned dasuki to an atm? you must be kidding bro, no one is saying NOI is bad but we must all admit that she let the nation down at very critical moments. Kemi has a boss with balls unlike anuty ngo who had no boss at all |

TPAND: The author of this post is politically obtuse. Airports are strategic pointers to investor's attraction. With better road network linking states, most states in Nigeria don't need airports, those funds can be channeled into building more dual carriage ways and we will be fine. And if we introduce fast moving trains in Nigeria, only Lagos and ABUJA airports will have passengers as most Nigerians will want to conserve their hard earned cash. Don't u think so. |

Politics › Re: 8 Governors Who Have No Business Building Airports by Goke7: 7:47am On Mar 22, 2016 |
macjive01: Anambra and Abia doesnt need any airport at this time.
Enugu Airport is only 30 mins away from heart of an Onitsha .
Asaba airport is 10 mins from Onitsha. If the proposed airport is built in oba which is at least 45 mins from Onitsha . Most businessmen will still prefer ASABA airport with is literally across the pond.
Same for ABA. There are two airports within 30mins of ABA - Imo airport and portharcourt airport. If the proposed airport is built in umuahia, owerri airport will still be closer to ABA business men and will continue to be preferred due to proximity.
I rather they plunge that money into other state infrastructure.
They can built world class hospital for a start.
Or a dubai class shopping mall and move their current dirty markets into malls. Thanks for saying my mind, I choose not to comment about se region so as not to be misunderstood but your points are valid. Those governors just want to embezzle money jare |
Politics › Re: 8 Governors Who Have No Business Building Airports by Goke7: 7:43am On Mar 22, 2016 |
The airport thing is one of the majors ways of embezzlement by governors. Truth be told am from Ogun state but States like Ogun, osun and ekiti don't need airports cos the road distances within the sw apart from upper parts of Oyo state are not too far apart.
The airports projects are white elephant projects that can never be viable. Do I need to use a plane to move from osun to ekiti? Or I need a enter arik to move from Lagos to Ogun? This must be a joke |

You mustn't display your ignorance because you think you have an opinion that sounds right in your head.
Worse off, you got to make a vote on an election that affects Nigerians based on fallacy. That you fail to see the weight of your irresponsible decision is beyond me.

The major problem now is generation and the generation part of the electricity company is still majorly run by the government except for a few gencos like Shiroro dam. So, ask Buhari and Fashola why the cannot generate enough power for the discos to distribute.

Quakertellicus1: Reversing it may not be easy
1.The companies will take the Govt to court to reclaim moneys invested in the business...which have now been lost thanks to the reversal. And the courts will award heavy damages. After all....govt signed a contract...and if you break contracts, judges will tend to throw the book at you.
(Democracy, isn't it grand )
2.At the moment...the amount of cash needed to fix power in Nigeria is enormous. We need investments of $1billion at least annually just to fix things.Government....does not have the cash....even if you deal with corruption...you still have low oil prices (Which Nigeria needs at $123 per barrel just to balance the books.). Thanks for your beautiful reply, one of the most beautiful responses with no aspersions I have ever read on nairaland. I agree with all you have said but for how long are we going to be held by the juglar with these so call PHCN private investors. Govt may have to find a way around it to attract more serious investors with good track record instead of these present briefcase investors. |

justicejay: I voted for pmb too for just two reasons, job and to stop the northern insurgency. All the balablablabla corruptions and power sector are not my concerns cos if I av the job and their is peace,am gonna enjoy the little I av But you know what? He has failed me. Failed me totally. Its almost a year now and everything has goes worse am now buying every thing in double of d initial price that's even if I have money to buy them. Thank God that I listen to gej voice that time to learn a skill and go into agriculture. Now the tailoring work and my fish pond is fetching me little money though the demand as fall since the money flowing in the state has reduced. Seriously APC = SCAM For some gej failed them while for some he was their hero, for some like u pmb has failed them while for some they see a leader who have guts and balls. I think that makes it balance depending on which perspective. |
