blazers007: This case will be swept under d carpet, depending on how Saraki plays his cards.
Though I may be wrong, but I think this trial is just to put Saraki in check because of his perceived romance with d opposition. Hence, I think d case will last 4eva.
If he tries to work against his party at any point in time, it (d case) will consume him.
Just my own theory. saraki by now would have wrecked more havoc if not for the cct trial. |

SleekMallam: If according to you the Senate is getting things right for the first time in our recent history, Is it not the case that a padded discredited budget should be sent to the bin by the Senate while the people responsible for such monumental national embarrassment summoned to appear before the Senate?
Which is better---being bullied to approve a discredited budget that has lost the confidence of Nigerians or the old ways of ghana must go bags? Non of them is tenable in this era of change. you guys plan will not work as you are waiting for the budget to be finally discredited to give pdp some mileage, the senate is not getting anything right but playing politics to ridicule the Executive cos of the heavy presence of the pdp in the senate. Let Saraki dare the executiive and not pass the budget, he will then have to tell the whole world which party he belongs to. |

SleekMallam: It would amount to double tragedy if saraki approves that national embarrassment of a padded budget. that is why we have a senate to scrutinize and approve the budget, the padding thing have been there for ages and pdp was covering it by settling the senators. Its because this time there was no one to settle the senators, that's why the issue came out. Saraki should stop playing politics with the budget with his cct trial cos he's only postponing the evil day. |

I have not seen the IPOB guys declare fatwa on the governors of those states where IPOB protesters were extra-judiciously killed; they court Wike as a darling, they court Obiano as a hero, they are ready to fight and die for Ikpeazu of the PDP. But they flex their muscles on Rochas and declare him enemy of Igbos and this is purely because he is in the APC. SycophanticGoat: This is the big difference between me and APC zombies because I've always opined the fact that GEJ messed up in some certain areas and the aspect of Nnaji Berth was one of it. Even tho I know that GEJ haters also shouted for the guy to be kicked out cuz of his supposed acquisition of power plant, but immediately GEJ allowed him resign, we went back fully to total blackout and even the ones that hated Nnaji were all gnashing their gworo chewing teeth and wishing he comes back.
The biggest mistake GEJ ever made in his life was not retaining Prof Berth Nnaji. Mehn that guy got some steel balls and stepped on huge political and corrupt toes.. That man is/was a hero. If I were him, I'd never ever accept any govt offer again. Thank God for admitting that cos the removal of Nnaji finally made a lot of us gave up on GEJ, if the man was in APC, he would have been part of this Govt. The guys shouting for Nnaji's removal then were the cabal who we expect GEJ should have resisted the way PMB is resisting them in the oil sector now. That's the difference btw GEJ and PMB, PMB got balls and cannot be easily cowed like GEJ. |

haibe: Oga I stay at ikorodu and know very well what has been happening, you still haven't gotten the point, the mile 12 market is mainly a food market for lagos state and not for the whole Nigeria.. How would every other part of Lagos State get to Ijebu ode if they won't prefer to pass ikorodu Road? You think they will prefer to go and pass abeokuta to link Sagamu? The bridge amosun built would be favouring those in ogun state mainly and not lagosians who use the mile 12 market mainly .
Also you experienced free drive along mile 12 not because the market was closed. It is because of the covets used as a guide against the mile 12 marketers crossing and blocking the whole Road, so basically even before mile 12 was shut we have been having a free ride along that area because of the initiative of putting the covet to stop those crossing and blocking the roads from the market.. It is therefore better that the market remains in mile 12 and I know it will remain there because the oba of ikorodu once complained about the congestion of the road linking ikorodu, so am pretty sure it will not be moved to such a location, it will end up staying in mile 12.
Their best bet is to take the market to badagry or places with low population. the market will not remain in mile 12 in the long run, it will surely be relocated including owode, mile 12 is more of a wholesale market than an all comers market, the wholesalers will continue to patronize the market no matter where it is relocated to. And talking about the bridge amosun built, i was actually referring to the trucks coming from wherever to discharge their goods in the market. Mile 12 is not the only market Lagosians patronise for Christs' sake and before the emergence of mile 12, Lagosians were surviving. The badagry axis is actually more populated than you think when you factor the fact that it is an international border. |

haibe: Please where will they pass if they are going to Ijebu ode? You think they go and bass abeokuta-sagamu-ijebu ode? Oga wake up, majority will pass the ever congested ikorodu Road to link to link Ijebu ode, it is never a welcome development.. They should relocate the market to an area where not so many people reside in.. If am not mistakin, ikorodu has the largest population in lagos state and there is just one Road linking ikorodu for those in lagos.. Just tell me say you no sabi road so people can give you direction, Amosun has built a fly over bridge over the benin -sagamu express way when you are linking Ijebu-ode through the Itokin_ikorodu road. From Ikorodu, folks who are linking the benin-sagamu exprees road has no business going through Lagos-Ibadan express road. And if you are coming into Ikorodu from the Benin- Sagamu express road, you have no business getting to sagamu. . The relocation of mile 12 market will actually decongest Ikorodu road as a whole. Mile 12 and owode markets are the reason for the congestion. I went to Ikorodu over the weekend and I breezed thru because mile 12 market was shut. |

Regardless of all the hurt and damages APC brand of elections propaganda did to our economy, Buhari boggled all the chances to repair, restore and build investor confidence in his first six months on that Sit.

Those against the relocation of mile 12 market are just too myopic, anyone who passes that road on a daily basis knows the planned relocation of the market is a welcome development and as for those saying it will bring more hardship to Ikorodu residents if relocated there, they too are ignorant cos the site of relocation is on the far outskirts of lagos which is the ijebu-ode - itokin road which will divert all the trucks bringing food stuff away from the Lagos entirely. The only reasonable thing to advise Govt is to make the itokin road a double carriage way but then its an interstate road which the Federal Govt have to do themselves.
The relocation of mile 12 market is surely inevitable whether haters like it or not. |

greatest31: Nigerians are always quick for short term measures and solutions.
What are the remote cause of the problem?
Is the problem solved?
What are the measures put in place to control future occurrences?
All these members of house should wake up because moving the market have not solved the problem. Very soon they will move the government house if things are done the right way.
The people that are shouting nice move should ask the government the above questions.
Thanks. my guy there are locations where its easy to control whatever crisis may arise, the present location of the market makes it difficult for the crisis to be managed as it is in the heart of the city. for e.g. the relocation of the market that was destroyed at oshodi early this year has reduced if not eradicated the menace of traffic robbery at Oshodi oke bridge as it no longer serve as hideouts for the miscreants. There are also cases of traffic robbery along the ketu-mile 12 stretch too, once the market is relocated it will also give relief to motorists. We need to look at the big picture before we criticize or blast the Govt on every move they make. Relocation of the market to the outskirts of Lagos will make it easy for Govt to manage any crisis in the future. |

So unsettle them might not be totally true.......after all we need them around for some menial job like KURA KURA ( weeding farm) and fetching water and likes...........all we need most now is to let them know understand how to co habit with their host communities and live in peace.

samseen02: I knew it frm the Onset that this is gonna happen. The case of the riot is just a perfect opportunity for the government of the day to take chances.
Instead of rebuilding the market they are relocating them. For what, to plant flowers or for overhead bridges?
This coward step isn't gonna stop any inter-tribal riot in the future, so this step is just so useless to me.
Hurray, HBD to me!! my guy, the first step is to relocate the damn market, Ikorodu road is a major road in Lagos, any ish causes too much hardship and affects the entire city. Its better the market is relocated to an outskirt location e.g. the Ikorodu-ijebu ode road area or the sagamu- ikorodu road area so all those trucks bringing in foodstuff don't have to disturb the entire city because they are bringing in Tomatoes. In building any market, Government have to consider the location and its environmental impact, for example why is the Government allowing the construction of a shopping mall or shop-rite in maryland? if this happens, guys should be getting ready to pass the night in traffic in those environs. Sometimes we need to think deeply before building any market anywhere. Lagos is too small to have all sorts of markets within the city center. Its is even because of future inter-tribal clashes that should guide any Govt in locating markets. If not Govt can even approve that salah rams could be sold in front of the state house. |
