Nemere2020:
BREAKING: Army denies shooting #EndSARS protesters

The 81 Division of the Nigerian Army (NA) has denied allegation soldiers opened fire on #ENDSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza last Tuesday.

In a statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations (ADPR), Major Osoba Olaniyi, the Division however confirmed the involvement of soldiers in restoring order in Lagos following the declaration of curfew by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Nation reports this is the first time the division is speaking about the incident that occurred last week.

It said: “The attention of Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army has been drawn to a viral video on social media in which it was alleged that civilian protesters were massacred by soldiers at Lekki Toll Plaza. This allegation is untrue, unfounded and aimed at causing anarchy in the country.

“At no time did soldiers of the Nigerian Army open fire on any civilian. From the onset of the ENDSARS protest, there was no time personnel of 81 Division Nigerian Army Lagos were involved.

“However, the decision to call in the military was taken by the Lagos State Government (LASG) after a 24- hour curfew was imposed.

“This was as a result of the violence which led to several police stations being burnt, policemen killed, suspects in police custody released and weapons carted away.

“The situation was fast degenerating into anarchy. It was at this point that LASG requested for the military to intervene in order to restore normalcy.

“The intervention of the military followed all laid down procedures for Internal Security operations and all the soldiers involved acted within the confines of the Rules of Engagement (ROE) for Internal Security operations.

“Finally, Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army reiterates Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities did not shoot at any civilian as there are glaring and convincing evidence to attest to this fact.

“This allegation is the hand work of mischief makers who will stop at nothing to tarnish the image of the Nigerian Army. The general public is hereby enjoined to discountenance this allegation as there is no iota of truth therein.”

Just ask them if they were at Lekki till gate during the protest to restore order? Who was the commander of the troops that went to Lekki toll gate? I have watched the video countless times and the movement and positioning of those guys was that of military so I totally debunk the idea that they may be some civilians in uniforms.

Good evening my NL guys.

I just met a guy last month ending, we exchanged numbers and started chatting. He asked me out.. I really enjoyed chatting with him, just him alone. So few days after, he invited me to his house. I declined but I noticed that he stopped chatting with me.

Few days after, he asked about my genotype without even greeting me. I counter questioned him and he attacked me, claiming that he is not happy with me. I replied that 'I don't care'.
The next thing I received was rains of insults. Saying that I insulted him. I admitted and we settled it.

For the short times I've known him, I could see the kind of qualities I want in a man. But the problem he has and that he attested to is verbal abuse...

I noticed that anytime he invites me to his house and I declined, it always piss him off and he stops talking to me.
I decided not to visit him because it's not safe for me.

He argues over little things on chat, he talks to me like I'm a baby ( he is 33 and I'm 22). he is domineering... I'm just confused on the decision to date him considering all these flaws. I am suspicious of him being violent.

Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Church I Attend Matter? by golddare: 10:52am On Oct 18, 2020
JMAN05:
'Church won't take you to heaven.' 'In heaven, God will not ask you which church you attended'. 'Be spiritual, not religious, your church doesn't matter, what matters is your heart, after all there are good people in every religion'.

Does that sound similar to what you ve said before? Perhaps you had to say that to someone who finds fault with your church, or who advise that you change your faith. You are not the only one with that opinion. Many who believe it favor non-denominational churches or ministries. They inter-faith with others of different faith. However, what does the Bible say? Does church matter?

At Matt 7:13,14, Jesus spoke about two roads. One leading to life and the other leading to death. Some may posit that the two roads and two gates refer to two types of humans - righteous and unrighteous people - That the bad people are much more than the righteous. But how can that be, if the broad road refers to bad people, how can bad people also go in through it? It's like in Maths, you say let X represent water pipe, and let Y represent water. Then we still come and say water will go in through Y. Is that logical? You can only say Y will go in through X.

Therefore, we can say that the two roads represent true and false religion. Many are in through the false religion, while few are FINDING the true religion. Ok, but that should refer to false religions like Islam, Traditional religions, Hinduism etc. Well, Jesus words continuous, after speaking of false prophets and the good and bad tree, in verses 21-23, he continued.

He said:

"Not everyone saying to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my father who is in the heavens will. 22. Many will say to me in that day: 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? 23 And then I will declare to them: 'i never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!'.

From the above words of Jesus, we can agree that he was even specifically talking about Christian religion (The good and bad trees). He was contextually positing that false Christian churches will abound, many will flow into it.

Someone will say, 'this refers to those who do the work of God, but they don't live by Bible principles. God can use a pastor, even though the pastor is into sin'. But did we notice what Jesus said above? He said he NEVER knew them. Meaning that God has not been using them all along. 'But' someone may inquire, 'my pastor doesn't use charms, nor any talisman, but he performs many miracles by God's name'.

Yes, Jesus says such people will exist, they will perform powerful works by Jesus name. But Jesus doesn't use them.

But can't I be in such a church and still follow my Bible?

Can we consider that next..
As much as I would have loved to say No but the reality in African churches will make me say Yes.

The Christian race has been made difficult for many believers through self imposed religion, doctrines, greediness and poor understanding of the scriptures. While on the other hand some churches have made the Christian race easier for many.

Let your bible be your primary church while the Holy Spirit your primary Pastor. The choice is yours.

When a married ex doesn't respond to your messages but constantly views your social media pages.

It is confusing at times. We didn't break up but got separated cos he traveled abroad and we lost contact.

When he came back I was married but we couldn't see each other, he travelled back and marries a South African lady.

But the few communications we had before he started ignoring me was as if he was angry, every conversation must be diverted to marriage, something like this, : am I the father of your children, you dey vex for me I give you belle? You didn't leave a marker when you had the chance. Etc.

I told him that am sensing he is angry with me but he said not at all. Am married too. He is my first love from secondary school.

We are from the same village. Is this the attitude of a friend?
Until you ruin the beautiful family you have with your past before your eyes open, that man is trying to respect your marriage by avoiding you but your eyes still dry his body. Go and empty your recycle bin off any feelings and really move on. If possible unfriend him. Goodluck.
