#EndSARS: CNN Releases second report on Lekki shootings

CNN has released a second report with videos showing soldiers shooting at unarmed protesters on October 20, 2020 at Lekki Tollgate. The CNN new report also shows protesters running as soldiers open fire at the tollgate.

The fresh report also shows Brig.Gen Ahmed Taiwo admitting before the judicial panel in Lagos that his men took live ammunition to the tollgate. It also shows that Brig.Gen Taiwo’s claim is at variance with information minister, Lai Mohammed's claim that the army fired blank bullets.

Extra: "We continue to stand by our reporting" - CNN tells the Nigerian government

1 I expect the panel to ask for the soldiers to appear and not o e general speaking for them.

2. They should ask honest ex military intelligence officer on how to nail these guys.

3. I will share one way. Before any military personnel leaves the arm store with weapons a d ammo he or she must sign in and out. Asked for that book, cross check their names and signatures. Mind you they might want to tamper with the book but very easy to catch them... let me stop here.

setobaba:
Hello Nairalanders,

I’m 30yrs of age, and I never for once consider getting married, I lost interest totally, but this should incase i decide to tie the nut, how much should I have in my bank account to be on safer side before dragging myself into a life time contract with someone else daughter??

I currently own a car, and managing a salon plus other bussiness thag comes once a while, I’m working towards having a building of my own before getting married, but you see the country is so messed up right now that building a three bed room apartment for yourself is so difficult.
Families and friends are dragging me to get married without considering my financial status, they all felt I have what it takes to get myself a wife......lol tho I’m not moved or shake by their claims but I really need to know this.

Can one settle down with an available balance of a million naira and feel safe?

If you recently get married here, can you pls do a cost implication of the said wedding and cost of running your marriage since inception??
Many guys are scared, I swear
You dey ask Jamb questions, nobody can put a cost on what he has spent so far in marriage. It's an exams with different questions.

Just make sure no one push you into it because you must be ready emotionally as well. With your age you are ripe but you must be mentally ready,

Be decisive in what you want in a woman, ensure you share the same good ideology and visions.

As per the wedding ceremony, have a budget and refuse to cross it, remember no trophy or medal for best spender and after wedding comes marriage so be careful with sycophants.

i understand that been rude and impolite is something personal but looking around, some professions habour large number of these rude and stern set of peeps and it makes me wonder..

1.Nurses; I recently went to a general hospital to see a friend and seeing the way these nurses handle patients makes me wonder if hostility is part of the nursing curriculum being taught in nursing school... A particular patient was screaming of pains and these nurses were just glued to their plasma television watching zeeworld.. I understand the work load is quite cumbersome but does that justify thier carlous attitude towards people they are meant to take care of...

2. Bankers; epecially the ones in the customer care stand...their attitude can be very annoying.

3.Nepa staff; hmmmm these ones ehn, their ear is selectively non receptive to the word "abeg"...most especially the ones assigned to disconnect light.

4. Doctors; though a few medical doctors are nice, there is still a large chunk of very rude medical doctors..u see them operating phone and chatting when a patient is right before them struggling for life.

This is not to say there aren't nice and dedicated staff in the above listed profesionals but a very good number of them are, in summary, quite rude to say the least..

You are free to add or remove from the list.
5. Civil Servants at the Secretariat.

A video showing an unknown pastor and his congregation praying for US president-elect, Joe Bidens' votes to be upturned in Donald Trump’s favour, has gone viral on social media.

It's unclear where in Nigeria this was held, but many on Twitter are reacting in anger, with one user writing: 'There is always a point when religion becomes a mental illness.'
My people God is real and the only way to know Him is through the scriptures and the Holy Spirit. These two will never contradict each other in your quest to know God. As long as you refused to study the word so as to know God "men of God" will continue to exploits and mislead you. One thing I have known about God is that He wants to have a direct link to His children, no more middle men or women.

Foreign Affairs › President-elect Joe Biden Has Been Confirmed As The Winner Of Georgia. by golddare(op): 11:00am On Nov 20, 2020
President-elect Joe Biden has been confirmed as the winner of Georgia, after the state conducted a hand recount.

The first Democrat to take the state since Bill Clinton in 1996, Biden wins its 16 electoral college votes as part of a victory by 306-232.

“The recount process simply reaffirmed what we already knew: Georgia voters selected Joe Biden to be their next president,” said Jaclyn Rothenberg, the Biden campaign spokeswoman, in an email to the Associated Press.

But the hand recount of about 5m votes was not held in response to any suspected problems with results in Georgia or any official recount request.
It stemmed instead from an audit required by a new state law. Selecting the race to be audited, the Georgia secretary of state, a Republican, said the presidential race made the most sense because of its significance and the tight margin separating the candidates. That, he said, made a full hand recount necessary.

Education › Re: My Candid Advice For Nigerian Graduates With 2.2 by golddare: 10:49pm On Nov 16, 2020
Rapmoney:
In as much as we always try to paint and re-paint realities, they still stare at us in the eyes with the greatest level of confidence or boldness you can think of.

I am using this post to offer a candid advice to Nigerian graduates within the 2.2 grade level, especially, those folks who graduated within the last 2 years. I said this because I should think most of the folks who graduated 5 to 10 years ago would have been able to create something for themselves, whether on a small or large scale.

Graduating with a 2.2 grade should not make you start dwelling on how you did it wrong and what you could have done and not have done.
Your 2.2 grade does not mean you are not intelligent or brilliant. Certificates from Nigerian higher institutions these days have lost their true value and relevance. There is little or no difference between university certificates and cardboard papers or wallpapers. Your 2.2 grade should give you the signal that the labour market is not friendly to you because even the first class and 2.1 graduates are not finding it easy as well. Except you have strong connections, you may never get that dream job of yours with your 2.2 cert. It is the truth. There is no proverbial Good Samaritan anywhere. Stop waiting and act.

ADVICE FOR 2.2 GRADUATES

1. Stop looking for that dream job that is almost nonexistent. Get productive in any small firm that employs you. Even if the salary is not big. Make sure you save aggressively like a mad man. Give yourself few years and start your own business in any lucrative industry you have interest in and passion for. Grow your business diligently and gradually. Make sure your eyes are wide open kokoroko like those of a hawk. No room for distractions from unserious friends. Business first.

2. Humble yourself and learn a good lucrative skill. Nigerian university education is almost like a scam! The country does not possess the industrial capacity to absorb graduates from most of the departments and faculties you fancifully look at in JAMB brochure. Again, without connections, there is no Good Samaritan out there. Go learn a good skill and TRY TO BE VERY GOOD AT IT; it should not even be related to what you studied in school. You should explore other career paths in life.

The Nigerian society does not always believe in 'practicalize what you can do for us to see'. So even if you are a very bright person who graduated with a 2.2 due to some unfortunate circumstances, you may never get that chance to prove your worth or knowledge to get employed in your dream industry. That is how the system is. Yes, it is all messed up you would say. And you are right. The system believes in connections laced with mediocrity and financial gratification.

My candid contribution...

Happy Weekend!
Many failed to know that there is no future in any jobs, the future lies in the hand of the man who holds the job.
