“Don’t Look Around!” - Monday, May 18th .

Pastor Chris

Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus… (Hebrews 12:2 AMP).

I remember something the Lord said to me many years ago, which I’ve taken with me in my journey of life; He said, “Don’t look around.” And you know, when God talks to you, He speaks the language of the Spirit, and when you pick it, you just know what He’s telling you. So when He gave me this admonition, I knew exactly what He was saying. He was telling me to be focused.

This is the same thing I’m saying to you now: “Don’t look around; stay focused.” You see, people who get into trouble and get confused in their lives are people who look around; they’re easily distracted. When you stay focused, you’ll discover that God can channel His blessings to you in a remarkable way, because you see the world the way God sees it; you’ll see everything from His perspective. All you need is to set your focus, your attention on the Spirit and His eternal Word.

Sometimes, some people could pray, and not make the right connection, and as a result miss whatever they ought to receive from the Spirit of God at that time. It’s because their focus wasn’t really there. In the realm of the Spirit, you’ve got to set your focus on the Lord for what you want. Don’t allow distractions.

Our opening verse says, “Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus....” To look away means more than just throwing a glance from an object to another. It means to turn away with all of your attention. Once you set your gaze on the Lord like that, nothing else means anything to you but His Word and the Spirit, and what you’re about.

Prayer...
Thank you Father, for as I focus on your Word, in prayer and meditation, my life is improved; my success and promotion are evident! I build my life and my future completely on your Word, with unending streams of testimonies following, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Subject Your Thoughts To The Word - Sunday, May 17th .

Pastor Chris

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8 ).

Your life is based on your thoughts, and your thoughts are based on the information you have, and the information you have is based on its source.

People have problems mostly from the way they think; they just think the wrong thoughts. If you notice your thoughts aren’t in conformity with the Word of God, change them. Subject your thoughts to the Word of God! Subject your thoughts to the Holy Spirit! Don’t be drawn away in your mind. You can have excellent thoughts without negativism.

When you subject your thoughts to the Word, you have thoughts of love, glory, excellence, and progress! Let the Word of God dominate your thoughts; let it control what you retain in your mind. His Word tells us what to think and how to think. So, change your thoughts if they’re not consistent with the Word. Someone might ask, “What if I’m trying to change my thoughts and the thoughts just keep coming back?”

If you’ve received the Holy Spirit, that’s not a problem at all. That’s one of the things He can help you with; remember, He’s your helper (John 14:16 AMP). Part of His ministry in your life is to help you achieve focus; anything you want to focus your mind on is possible by the power of the Holy Spirit. He can help you change your thoughts if you ask Him.

Prayer...
Dear Father, thank you for the cleansing power of your Word, which purifies my heart from all unrighteousness. My thoughts today, are pure, just, lovely, and excellent. As your Spirit unveils the mysteries of your Word to me, my thoughts are adjusted to see things only in that perspective, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The body of Christ has lost the essential ingredient why it was establish in the beginning by The Apostles.
There paramount interest is their selves and nothing more.
We all need to go back to the basis why the Church was founded @the first place or we will keep deluding ourselves.
John 4:24....God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."
Its high time we start worshiping God in Truth and Spirit in our HOMES,OFFICES,and ENVIRONMENT with JUST our families, neigbours and friends and stop deceiving ourselves.
As for the bold, how dare you? You even said it authoritatively. Are you the Holy Spirit or the benchmark for measuring the spirituality of an assembly of believers?

Ok, if you know how the church ought to be like, what then have you done or are doing with the gospel in relation to your ideas of how the body of Christ should be like?

Your turn. Why do you pray?
To commune with the Father.

In John 14:12–14, we discover one thing that God intends for our life by reading what Jesus said about the power of prayer. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

I would to God you understand what lies in the above. JESUS first talked about fellowship, communion and partnership... Then it talks about asking and receiving. Sadly, Most folks turn it the other way around, or they just ask, and ask and ask... Like God exists for by them, instead of them for God

I'm yet to see any scripture that remotely suggests that we received power because we prayed for it. To be clear, the Holy Spirit brought the power of God to every Christian the moment they received the Holy Spirit. When we pray, we commune with the Godhead, we make power activated to effect change, we stir up the gifts of God in this way- when we pray.

Kindly answer my questions. Thanks

Express His Glory - Saturday, May 16th .

Pastor Chris

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16).

The word “glory,” amongst several other beautiful synonyms, means radiance, excellence, splendour, brightness, etc. Think for a second that all such beautiful attributes are in your life, not just for God to see, but for you to express.

It’s your heritage as a new creation in Christ Jesus to express the glory of God. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” He wants you to express the perfections, beauty and excellence of divinity that are characteristic of your recreated human spirit.

The Lord Jesus expressed the glory of God every day while He walked the earth. His whole life was an extraordinary account of the miraculous and supernatural. John testified of this saying, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory, and express image of His Person (Hebrews 1:3); and we’re like Him (1 John 4:17).

He said in John 17:22, “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them….” You’re a sharer as well as the carrier and dispenser of His glory. Therefore, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:1). Do things and speak words that inspire honour, worship and praise to the Lord.

Prayer...
Dear Father, I thank you for making me the expression of your glory to my world. The more of your Word I imbibe in my spirit through meditation, the more your glory increases in my life. Therefore, my profiting is evident to all; your anointing upon my life is increased; grace, favour, effectiveness and efficiency are increasing in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Study:
1 Timothy 4:15-16
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. ;

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Let The Word Guide You - Friday, May 15th .

Pastor Chris

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man (James 1:13).

Temptation comes when one is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. One can lust for anything; you could be lusting for a place, a person, or even for something new. Instead of that, you ought to subject your thoughts to the Word of God to help you get rid of inordinate desires.

King Ahab of Israel was lusting to have Ramothgilead. He convinced Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, who had become his ally, to go with him to seize the city. Jehoshaphat nevertheless asked that the prophets be consulted, and all of them, except Micaiah, urged the kings to go to battle. But Micaiah explained how he saw a spirit come before the Lord in a vision, saying, “…I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his (King Ahab’s) prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so” (2 Chronicles 18:21).

God said the spirit would succeed in enticing Ahab; why? The reason is clear: the man was already drawn away by his own lust! The enemy then came and enticed him, and succeeded. When people are enticed by their lust, they go astray.

Let God’s Word guide your decisions and the choices you make. His Word is a lamp unto your feet, and a light unto your path (Psalm 119:105). Be sure the strong desire you have is consistent with God’s Word! Until you’re sure that it is, don’t take any action. Pray in the Spirit, and study the Word until you have the “green light” to proceed.

God’s Word gives you direction. It helps you to understand God’s perfect will. When you know His Word, no matter what your senses tell you, you’ll be able to discern God’s perfect will. His perfect will for you, a lot of times, can be different from what your feelings or other signs tell you. Therefore, trust His Word and the Spirit to guide you in your affairs.

Prayer...
Thank you Father, for your Word that guides me and illuminates my path to see, and my heart to know and walk in your perfect will at all times. Thank you for your wisdom that’s manifest in my decisions and choices today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Last Wednesday I referred a buddy of mine this strange Oyaks exhortation to prayerlessness. He is a long time ardent fan or Oyaks, always ceaselessly sharing how 'powerful' and 'wise' he is. The divorce saga somewhat slowed his adoration but he was still praising him.

Oyaks point as readily regurgitated by Gombs on another thread here is simple; believers have power of God they received at the baptism of the Spirit and prayers don't add nothing to it. A prayerless Christian and a prayerful one have the same power. I aksd my friend just as I aksd Gombs what the essence of prayer is in that case. Gombs as expected played dumb, ignored it. My friend on the other hand went on a day long soul searching trying to make sense of the piece. So we met yesterday and he told me he is convinced that's a doctrine of Devils; teaching prayerlessness. That's what Oyaks did in an attempt to debunk an old cliche 'a prayerless Christian a powerless christian'. Funny enough, he contradicts his own teachings on James 5:16

Nice specs.
I dig; "The principle of life working in him, upon receiving Christ."

By principle do you mean a standard especially of good behaviour working within him, upon receiving Christ?
That principle is simply the God kind of life and all it entails. It means all that's God's by Jesus is 'installed' in him the moment he accepted Christ as Lord and Savior.

It's not a standard of good behaviour, it's God's righteousness at work in that individual by the Holy Spirit.

In other words, the Law is thereby written in his "heart" not carved in "stone" for the reference of unthinking minds?
In other words, you are no longer subjected to the world and her elements. That law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from guilt and condemnation, making you sit together with Christ far above All principalities and powers, not only in this world but in that to come. Hallelujah!

Your Testimony! - Thursday, May 14th .

Pastor Chris

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony... (Revelation 12:11).

A testimony is a statement or affirmation of a fact. In a court of law, for instance, a testimony is the aggregate of proof offered in a case; it’s the statement of a witness. Our opening scripture says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” The question is, “What’s your testimony?” Your testimony is your witness of Christ. It’s your declaration of the activity of His Word and grace in your life.

What’s your testimony of Him? For me, I testify that I’m walking in His grace and in His victory! I testify that I’m winning in everything that I do! I testify that I’m excellent all the way! I testify that His grace is working in, for, and through me! I testify that the Lord is my Rock and my Strength! I testify that I’m more than a conqueror; greater is He that’s in me, than he that’s in the world!

Testify of your victories; testify of what He’s done in your life. Sometimes, the problem is that some people want to feel or see it first before they testify. But it’s not so. Testify! Don’t wait to feel or see anything; His Word is real; that should be the basis of your testimony; and that’s what overcomes the enemy, Satan.

When people are crying, “Life is very hard these days,” you should declare, “I’m highly favoured and abundantly blessed of God!” That becomes your testimony, and with it, you overcome limitations. When you speak God’s Word and testify of Him, you bring His presence into the situation. Let His testimony be on your lips always—the testimony of His Word and efficacy of the Spirit to put you over and above every situation.

Maintain God’s testimony of you; His testimony is that you’re a new creation in Christ Jesus! His testimony is that you’re more than a conqueror! Affirm the same things in consent with Him. Every day, say what God has said about you: “...He hath said…so that we may boldly say...” (Hebrews 13:5-6). The glorious things He has spoken about you in His Word (Psalm 87:3) are your testimonies! Proclaim them boldly.

Confession...
I’m what God says I am! I testify that I’m walking in His grace and in His victory! I’m winning every day, reigning in life through Christ Jesus. I’m excellent, and I’m bearing fruits of righteousness! I testify that the Lord is my Rock and my Strength! He’s the glory of my life; in Him, I’m more than a conqueror, and I’ve overcome the world, because greater is He that’s in me, than he that’s in the world!

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2).

It’s important to understand what Paul was talking about in our opening verse; his reference to the law of the Spirit of life, and the law of sin and death.

The law of sin and death refers to the Old Testament Law, which brought condemnation. That law condemned the Jews and the Gentiles. It was given to the Jews, but they couldn’t keep it, and so they were condemned. The Gentiles, on the other hand, were the heathen, estranged from God; the Law wasn’t given to them: “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12). The very fact that the Law wasn’t given to them was their condemnation.

Now, when God gave the Law to the Jews in the Old Testament, it was to guide them, because they were sense-ruled. However, the Law couldn’t produce life. But in the New Testament, everyone who has received Christ has eternal life. 1 John 5:13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life….”

There’s a law at work in those who have that life; it’s called the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. This law is superior to the law of sin and death, because it breaks the Jew free from the Law of Moses that condemns. Then, the Gentile, who was condemned by his estrangement from God, is reconciled with the principle of life working in him, upon receiving Christ.

Now that you’re born again, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from the law of sin and death. Live free. Live triumphantly every day. Refuse to allow anything or anyone condemn you; you’ve passed from death into life! You’re in the kingdom of life. Glory to God!

Confession...
I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Sin, sickness, disease, and poverty, are under my dominion! I reign over them because I’m superior to this world, its systems, and the vagaries of nature! There’s no death, defeat or failure in my path, because I live by the law of the Spirit of life, in Christ Jesus. Halleluiah!

But Christ rescued us from the Law’s curse, when he became a curse in our place. This is because the Scriptures say that anyone who is nailed to a tree is under a curse. ;

God wiped out the charges that were against us for disobeying the Law of Moses. He took them away and nailed them to the cross. ;

God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.

Making Students Of The Nations! - Tuesday, May 12th .

Pastor Chris

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… (Matthew 28:19).

We’re teaching the Word of God all around the world, using every available medium and platform so God’s people can discover, and walk in their heritage in Christ. They need to know what they have, who they are, and the power available to them to live the triumphant life in Christ. Our opening scripture conveys the mandate of the Master, to got each all nations. In essence, He wants us to “make students of the nations.” What a calling!

The word, “nations” is the Greek “ethnos,” which means a group of people with common interests. For example, a group of lawyers is an “ethnos” or a “nation” of lawyers. So, if you’re a lawyer, the Lord has sent you into that world, to make students of fellow lawyers; to teach them how to live the Kingdom-life. Whatever group or profession you belong, you’re there to make a difference.

God has put His perfection in your spirit, and His wisdom is available to guide you, as you lead others in the transcendent life. You’re their solution. Halleluiah! This is why you must research the Word of God; research the spiritual realms, because you’ve been chosen to help others see and live the higher life in Christ. You’re called to help them see how to be a success through Christ.

The Bible says, “…the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty” (Psalm 74:20). Wherever the light of God is dim, wickedness prevails; that’s where demon spirits carry out their activities. But when the Gospel comes, light comes, and the people begin to live differently. Until God’s light shines in your “ethnos,” that “nation” will be the habitation of cruelty— a home of wickedness, and hatred. You’re the reflector of His glory in your world; His light that must shine and eliminate the darkness.

Confession...
I’m commissioned with the message of the Gospel of Christ, and the Word of righteousness is like fire, shut up in my bones! I’m dispensing His light, and expressing the life and nature of Christ in my world! Thus, darkness and all the activities of the evil one are dispelled in my “ethnos” as I reflect His glory everywhere! Halleluiah!

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. ;

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14).

There's a higher life; there's a higher realm; it's the realm of the Spirit. You were born into that realm when you were born again. So, you actually live in two worlds contemporaneously; you function in both of them. You recognize one through your physical senses, and you recognize the other through your spirit - your spiritual faculties.

The ministry of the Gospel brings spiritual realities into the natural world as men hear, understand and act on the message. However, there're not so many people who think spiritually; they think "naturally" all the time even though they're Christians, failing to realise that we belong in a spiritual kingdom. They function mostly by their natural faculties - flesh; and they that are in the flesh can't please God (Romans 8:8 ).

That's the reason for the training of our spiritual senses through God's Word and the Holy Spirit, so you can hear, see, and perceive the things of the Spirit. You can only understand the things of God through your spiritual faculties. The natural man can't understand the things of God, because they're spiritually discerned.

We're in a kingdom where sickness, defeat, poverty, and failure aren't real. However, your spiritual faculties must be constantly trained through the Word of God so you can appropriate the realities of our spiritual Kingdom in your life.
