The Gain Of Temperance · Sunday, December 29th · Pastor Chris He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls (Proverbs 25:28). "Temperance" is such an important virtue that needs to be clearly understood. Some Bible versions translate it as "self-control." However, the full import of its meaning pictures an athlete that has self-discipline because he wants to be the champion. The Greek word is "Engkrateia," meaning to hold oneself in. Take for example, an athlete who’s training to create a new world record, and is under some strict physical fitness training and diet. At some point, he’s really hungry and tempted to eat something outside his current diet plan, but holds himself back! He knows the meal will be detrimental to his physical fitness programme, hence he refuses to eat it. He has exercised self-restraint. Now, God wants you to have this kind of selfrestraint and discipline in your life, where you’re able to hold yourself in, and refuse to do anything that’s not consistent with the Word of God. He wants you to take charge of your life. You must exercise the ability to hold yourself in, and say "No" when necessary. For example, someone offends you and you’re angry, but you choose instead to let it go and walk on in love. You "held yourself in" from giving the person "a piece of your mind!" You walked with the mind of Christ. No matter what others do to you; they may spite, revile, or criticize you; hold yourself back from responding in pride, anger or bitterness. In Luke 6:29, Jesus said "And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other...." In other words, hold yourself in; have self-restraint; don’t fight back. Grab yourself from the inside. Perhaps, as a wife or a husband, a lot has happened in your home and you’re on the verge of losing your cool: hold yourself in! Don’t quit that marriage; be patient and remain loving, with the confident assurance that all things work together for good to them that love God, who are the called according to His purpose. Confession.. I have the ability to make the right judgments and choices and I refuse any attitude, habit or lifestyle that is inconsistent with the Gospel. No matter what happens around me, I don’t bow to pressure. Rather, I hold myself in from within. f u r t h e r s t u d y: 1 Corinthians 9:27; Proverbs 5:23 (GNB); Galatians 5:22-23(GNB) Daily Scripture Reading 1 Year Reading Plan : Zechariah 12-14 Revelation 20:1-15 2 Year Reading Plan : Acts 5:1-11 Ezra 8 |
Alfa Seltzer: It's badly asked question that started with a disputed premise that someone or something created the world. Position Yourself For Victory! · Saturday, December 28th · Pastor Chris As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said… (Acts 13:2). All over the world, people fast and pray at different times and for different reasons. While anyone can fast at any time, there’re special times when the Spirit of God leads you to do so. For example, as a Ministry, we do have our "End of Year Prayer and Fasting Program," because the Holy Spirit asked us to do so. This selected period, which always carries with it an unusual unction and grace, has been pivotal in preparing us as a ministry, and as individuals, for the coming year. However, there’re certain things you must take note of, and also do, to make your fasting and praying worthwhile and fulfilling. First, understand the purpose of the spiritual exercise. Contrary to what some people think, fasting and prayer is not a way to change or get God to do something; it’s actually a spiritual exercise that benefits you. Its aim is to get your spirit attuned to the Holy Spirit, so you can hear what God is saying, and be guided by Him to know and function in His perfect will for your life. Thus, you’ll know what’s on His mind; that is, what season it is presently in His calendar and how to walk in it. Secondly, have a clear focus and expectation. This will help guide your prayer, study and meditation sessions. Thirdly, at certain periods of each day, give adequate attention to prayer, especially praying in other tongues. Spend time to study, and meditate on the Word. As much as possible, keep away from all forms of distraction; set your focus and affection on the Lord. The most vital benefit of prayer to you as a person is the conditioning of your spirit to think in sync with God. In other words, your spirit is conditioned to become a dependable receptacle of His ideas, visions, and promptings. Life shouldn’t be a stream of surprises in terms of accidental occurrences in your life; it should be part of a master plan—God’s master plan. Therefore, position yourself for continual victory in the New Year, by taking out time to fast and pray. Prayer.. Dear Father, as I take out time to fast and pray in preparation for the greater glory that lie ahead in the coming year, my heart and mind are opened to receive your ideas, visions, and promptings. My spirit is alive to you and sensitive to know, and walk in your perfect will for me in the coming year, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. f u r t h e r s t u d y: Daniel 9:3-4; 1 Timothy 4:7-8 Daily Scripture Reading 1 Year Reading Plan : Zechariah 9-11 Revelation 19:11-21 2 Year Reading Plan : Acts 4:23-37 Ezra 7 |
uchkochi: GOD WANTS YOU RICH AS MUCH AS HE WANTS YOU SAVED.Gbam... 3john 2 Do you know God wants you rich? He wants you to prosper, He wants you to become very great and the envy of everyone. He wants you to eat the good of the Land. He wants you to lend not just to people but to nations. He wants you to drive the best cars, eat the best food, wear the best clothes and live in the finest houses, He wants you to be a blessing to your family, community, nation and His work on Earth. Deuteronomy 28:1-14, 3 John 2, Jeremiah 29:11.Double gbam... infact gbamest If God wants you rich, no devil can stop your riches.U mmmmmmmmmmmm.... God wants us all to be rich, no devil can stop that, except u....for example, God wants us all saved, no devil can stop the redemption work, except we ourselves. The high way to exceeding riches and wealth is not hard work as many have been made to believe, it is not long prayers as many have believed, it is not also 'hard fastings'. But it is the blessings of the LORD that makes rich without sorrows. Proverbs 10:22.Yeah, hardwork does not make one rich, if it does, truck pushers would be the richest (some folks would call dangote, gates, etc, can't help but laugh...because these men are large givers...but our givings dont make us right with God, Jesus does.). U either work in favor or keep on labor, for by strength shall no man prevail. Neither does long prayers make one rich, nor hard fasting....why? Because if u wanna prosper financially, uv got to find out what the bible says financially, AND DO IT. The only principle for receiving in the bible is GIVING... if u don't give, u cant receive. Remember "GIVE and it shall be GIVEN UNTO U....shall MEN (not angels) give INTO (not UNTO) ur bosom.." Luke 6v38. Yeah, the bible said ask the father for anything and he shall do it for u, but principles are already laid down. The high way to wealth is giving and 'hard givings'. By hard giving I mean sacrificial giving.Gbaaaaaaam... giving to the gospel of Christ, n the work of the ministry... that's why we work to earn a giving, not a living. Many want to prosper but they don't want to give.A good number of them are on NL, bro F readily comes to mind, Kunle too.. . They use this sentence "grace did bla bla bla not works bla bla bla, God’s blessings don't come to u by ur works but grace, bla bla bla"... they forget that without faith, one can't please God, they forget that FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD...they forget that biblical financial principles cannot be compromised. Even the easiest giving which is the tithe, they don't want to pay.Sadly true Listen to this, tithing is the first gate to riches. Tithing alone can attract the money you need to come out of debt and live a debt free life.Tithing alone does not attract the money u need to come outta debt or such...how about prophetic seeds? How about seeds u sow (cars, gadgets, houses etc).... even giving to the less privileged can activate ur harvest from God. It's all about faith...u shd not use the word ALONE. Tithing prevents evil, it's more of like it checkmates troubles like debt, but this dont mean the devil wont come question ur faith, after u declare that he is rebuked for ur sake after u tithed. It brings favor, wisdom etc. Tithing means saying to God "I want you to be a part of my finances/income, sanctify it". Make up your mind to tithe every money that enters your hand, from the smallest to the greatest.Kunle, goshen, candour, drummaboy etc... We'd keep praying for u guys to make up ur minds The prayer of the tither is answered quicker than that of the none-tither.God is NOT a respecter of persons... he'd answer those who asked in faith first, not just those who tithed. He answers none tithers who ask in faith Tithing is not a yardstick for one's prayer to get a preferential treatment. Jesus said whatsoever thing THAT YE DESIRE, when u PRAY, BELIEVE that ye have RECEIVED, and ye shall HAVE. Simple principle. Tithing sets u apart for the better lif3, it is not compulsory to live the better life full of favor n divine expansion. Tithing puts your name in God's priority list.Yeah, Because He said "put me to test and see if i will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour u out a blessing that you would not have enough room for it." And God cannot lie, that is why i said, tithing sets u apart. This doesn't mean God respects u, it means He is glad u put Him to test, it means u took his words for what it said...He is not afraid to be put on the spot... Your name is added there today in Jesus Precious name. You will get to where God wants you to get to in your finances in Jesus name.Amen.. merry Christmas. Goshen I think I disagreed with two or one of his points... but 93%, he was on point |

Born With Faith In Our Spirits · Friday, December 27th · Pastor Anita For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). Throughout the epistles, there isn’t much teaching by the Apostles on the subject of faith. The Apostles never told us to have faith because they knew we were born with it. Someone might say, "Well, Jesus asked His disciples, on several occasions, to have faith." Understand that the disciples weren’t born again at that time; they lived under the Old Testament. Besides, salvation, which comes by grace through faith hadn’t been consummated at the time Jesus taught the disciples to have faith. However, in Christ, faith has been imparted to our spirits. In 2 Peter 1:1, the Apostle Peter wrote, "Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." Notice those to whom Apostle Peter was writing: "…them that have obtained like precious faith…." That’s talking about every believer in Christ. We’ve obtained like precious faith with the apostles; we’ve received it. We didn’t have to manufacture or create it; it came to us in the Word, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul spelt out this same truth in his epistle to the Body of Christ in Romans 12:3. It reads, "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." This Scripture addresses all the saints in the Body of Christ; we that are born again! We were given the same measure of faith through the Gospel. Now, the Lord Jesus made a profound statement with respect to what you can accomplish with that measure of faith. He said, "…verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you" (Matthew 17:20). This is so inspiring; it means you can live a life of infinite possibilities, create your triumphant and victorious life, dominate, and rule your world through faith—the least amount of faith that you possess. This is awesome! Yet everyone has the responsibility to strengthen and multiply his faith. Prayer.. Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the ministry of your Word through which my faith is built strong. As I increase my faith by hearing your Word, and strengthen it through doing the Word, I am increasingly triumphant and victorious in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Godliness: Piety Towards God · Thursday, December 26th · Pastor Chris For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come (1 Timothy 4: .Godliness in this verse means piety towards God. It refers to the quality of being devout; having a devotion to spirituality. It’s an outward demonstration of an inner life. Being born again, you already have the righteousness of God in you, but you’ve got to express it outwardly. Godliness, in this context, refers to those outward activities you engage in that people can look at and say, "That’s a godly man." It doesn’t essentially refer to inner righteousness or inherent holiness. There’s a reason this is important. Literally, the word godliness in the Greek is "eusebeia"; and it means well-directed reverence; your well-directed devotions towards God. As Christians, we’re supposed to have this well-directed reverence or piety towards God; there’re things you do that mark you out as a godly person. For example, going to church; not everyone who goes to church is essentially a Christian, nevertheless, every Christian ought to go to church regularly and be committed in a local assembly. Hebrews 10:25 says, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Other godly activities that mark you out as a Christian includes fasting, spending time with the Lord in prayer and the study of the Word, and witnessing for Him. Furthermore, as a godly person, there’re certain places you shouldn’t be found in. If you ever have to be in such places, you should go in with godly piety. There’re things you shouldn’t do, and there’re words that shouldn’t come out of you; there’re just certain things that shouldn’t be found in your character as a godly person. God expects you to handle yourself in a godly manner. Even the way you dress should have some piety to it. There’s a decency that goes with the Spirit of God, and that decency must reflect in every aspect of your life. Prayer.. Dear Father, I thank you for your Word and the guidance of your Spirit in my life. Through your Word, my character is moulded to reflect moral excellence and your righteousness that’s in my Spirit. I inspire many to righteousness today, in the Name of Jesus. Amen. f u r t h e r s t u d y: Luke 4:16; 2 Peter 1:5-7 Daily Scripture Reading 1 Year Reading Plan : Zechariah 4-6 Revelation 18:1-24 2 Year Reading Plan : Acts 4:1-12 Ezra 5 |
