I returned from dubai in the month of May & i felt sharing my experience was out of place considering most of the discussion was related to jobs!!

@alexray, i wish to disagree with your point of view blatantly! T'he issues on disscuss on this thread can better serve t'he need of any category of travler be it expressly for tourist purposes or for job hunt excercises, note their are common denominators connecting all t'he axis (1) visa- on this thread people are enlightend on how to get any cartigory of visa be it tourist or visit. (2) flight - people are enlightned on airlines to fly, empasis is giving to airlines that process or sponsor passenger visa e.g etihad and emirate (3) accomodation- people are informed on how to get cheap and affordable accomodation, (4) sightseeing/shopping- information is also available for would be shoppers and sight seeking tourists, this thread is an almagam and complete directory for people intending to visit dubai or qatar for any purpose, if the four issues i listed above does not concern a tourist travller kindly let me know! So if you have any information to share with us kindly go ahead and share them before you make us vex!

Travling abroad far away from father, mother and the entire family is not a childs play, so if you intend to travel u better wake up!! Plan well, take the right steps!! I intend to give a little statistics i hope it might help lift off this vale of lies at least a little, the Russian embassy in lagos and Abuja grants interview just once a week i.e tuesdays and the highest numbers of people at a time you might see at the premises, tops may not exceed 20 people on any particlar interview day,infact most times the figure is about 10 people and as a matter of fact t'he Russian embassy is t'he least visited by Nigerian both in lagos or Abuja embassies, but if we sum up t'he figures t'he Russian visas issued to Nigerians in a month would hover at about 100 the rest applicants are simply denied! and from the t'he above figure of 100 i assure you unequivocally that 80 of them are male and t'he balance 20 are females and curiously enogh 90% of t'he visas issued are student visas! From t'he little analysis above it presourposes that just about 20 or so nigerian girls are issued Russia visas not even monthly but before new academic year i.e before september of every year, another twist to t'he whole matter, t'he Russian visa is one of t'he most controlled visas in t'he world as t'he Russian immigration are t'he once that issue t'he official letter of invitation all t'he way from Russia otherwise no applicant can even apply for a visa here in Nigeria without that document, aside that also t'he NDLEA clearance required by t'he embassy can discourage even t'he courageos as its t'he most difficult document to aquire! Mr Ambassedor sir i hope you remember t'he adage that says those that live in glass houses should never throw stones! I must say that t'he Nigerian embassy in Moscow is t'he wost of all t'he Nigerian embassies all over t'he world, of what use is an embassy that refuses to recongnise its citizen when they come to their own embassy? Of what use is an embassy that witholds student scholarship allowances for 6months an incidence that precipitated a riot of scholaship students in moscow smashing up cars and embassy building, of what use is an embassy that cannot speak up or defend its citizens {students} when they were unjustly expeled from there school? It took a combined action to sue t'he school in court before t'he decision was hurridly recended by t'he school, because t'he school was at fault and simply racial in their desposition and in the heat of the matter when the embassy was informed they simply blamed t'he school for admitting nigerians stating ,Nigerian were trouble makers wherever they are! Whats t'he use of an embassy that will fail to issue a nigerian student a letter of stating that he is actually a citizen of Nigeria even when t'he man has his Nigerian passport and speaks either of t'he Nigerian dialetts and it can be proved beyound any reasonable doubt that he is a Nigerian! What is an embassy! Its basically supposed to be a home to Nigerians wherever they are located, a place of succore, a place of hope, a mini Nigeria out of t'he geographycal land called Nigeria, what is t'he primary purpose of government according to t'he constitution ? Its suppose to provide welfare and security for its people, this role has been abdicated by the Nigerian ambassedor in Russia therefore we are calling on t'he president to sack t'he ambassedor forwith for painting t'he contry in bad light, even china and t'he Usa would never use disparaging and un printable letters to describe their own citizens even when they are involved in shady endevoursan a quick example are Russian salors just arrested in Nigeria for bringing in arms and amunition into t'he contry you would never hear their embassy calling them unprintable names but rather they will defend them and use every diplomatic means at their disposal to see to their realise, of course we know that 8 of them have already been realised! My dear friend no need to panic simply make arrangments for your visa renewal and keep job hunting, i believe you will get a job very soon at least valentony is a testimony so keep faith, pls also make your self available at t'he hotel address just4kaffy gave, she said t'he hotel would be recruiting big time, so please scroll back on her post and take t'he address and other details. I didnt want to comment on your matter at all cos you gave immigration big money on your way out at least that could have paid for your house rent for another month. Am not comfortable with you flying all t'he way to nigeria again just to wait for your work visa, if you were exiting to oman or kish i 4 no mind, those places are close by to dubai, flying almost 5 hours to lagos can be risky also! am suggesting u go around looking for other jobs and when its 2 days for your visa to expire just pack a small bag containg 2 T shirts, 2 jeans trousers, small towel, tooth brush/paste, keep your remainig luggage with a trusted friend, just enter airport and stamp yourself out from t'he immigration and enter lift or excalator to departure lounge or floor, you will stay there for a week till your work visa is ready, i know t'he place very well, u have nothing to fear its a very busy place, people are always around as 10 flights are arriving 5 are departing so most times t'he place is busy! Nobody send you self, there is bathroom on that floor were there are plenty duty free shops, so u can take your bath whenever you want, take some bread along as snack so you dont spend too much money on food , t'he fast food inside that place cost. T'he quicker your employer preper your visa t'he better for you, atleast you said 3days or 1 week. T'he 2nd day you enter t'he airport tell your brother or friend back in nigeria to call t'he hotel that you have arrived in nigeria so they can start work on your visa, if they are not serious, after 1 week u go just tell your friends in dubai to do another visit visa for you and you will re enter dubai, see t'he danger! If you return back home and t'he company does not send you t'he work visa and t'he ticket you will be stranded! So wisen up!! so if t'he company eventually sends t'he visa and t'he one way ticket, as soon as you come out of t'he airport you can sell your one way ticket and put t'he small change for pocket for refreshment! :d' tink about am!! Way forward and lets look on t'he bright side, from my calculation i assume your visa might be expiring in two weeks or so, pls start making arrangments to renew it for another 1month, u can communicate or PM kaffy4tope or the igwee on how to do it cheaply i believe they will guide you, pls if you need cash try ask from your folks back home i believe 45k or so can pay your accomodation and renew your visa for you again for another one month. jammyng: as for naija immigration, mak sure u hav hotel reservation and yellow card. They are nt supposed to ask u those for dubai but as a 1st timer they wil 2 intimidate u. It is d immigration dat at abu dhabi dat may ask u 4 dat and how much u hav. As 4 me, at both airports, i wasnt ask aside frm d airline and naija custom. As 4 etihad, dey wont carry u if u dnt hav at least 1k us dollars or ur visa wil expire in 72hrs frm departure. U may need 2 settle dem or tel a gud story. Neva liar 2 naija custom or abu dhabi immigration abt hw much u hav. I was so naive dat i dashed d man dat crossed me 200 us dolls. If i had gone myself, i'll probably nt spend more dan 5k naira 4 all d passages.

. @ tobensin84, i have read your posting as well as that of jammyng, but i will advise you to read my past posting also as refered and reposted by chief henrimoto you might learn one or two things from there, i am shocked despite the challenges associated with getting a job in dubai that jemmyng will give an immigration officer almost 32,000 naira {200 dollas} for what! and he is a regular reader of these thread. let me clear some of t'he issues jammyng raised, t'he airline has no right to ask you of how much BTA you have, its not there job! Lets even assume Etihad and t'he customs asks you, simply tell them t'he amount of cash you have on you and tell them the balance of your cash is in your master card account shekana! Pls hold your atm card incase they ask for it, pls get to t'he airport early, if checking in for your flight will start by 10am pls be there by 9am, join t'he queue and be t'he 2nd or 3rd in line for check in its very important for a first time travller and dont be afraid, t'he nigerian immigration and customs are looking for timid and fearful people to rip off that should not be you! If u are extreamly youmg looking as a first time travller just tell them your parents sent you to your elder brother who has been in dubai for over 10yrs and t'he family is extreamly worried about him and wether he would not be getting married! Look into there eyes without fear and speack your mind, tell them your visa is visit and not business or tourist visa, tell them on arrival your elder brother will pick you up at t'he airport and you will stay at his place for 2 weeks before returning back to nigeria. With all dis story they will allow you, pls dont give anybody 1kobo even if them say give us kola or chop money dont give them!! Yello card is not neccessary for dubai passengers! T'he dubai immigration wont disturb you much they might ask where you will be staying just tell them hotel galaxy in dearai area, dont be timid and please dress well! ! When your arrive dubai pls share your story of how u went through so others can be enlightend!

At least you wrote so in your privious post, if that is correct so why will your agent be asking you for money for extension if he actually did a two months visa for you. As per your rent issue, stay calm you will get a job before then and if not you can ask home to send you a little cash to cover that on t'he interim till u get a job. As per your ticket issue it dosent kalax {expire} completely, all u need do when ever you wish to return to nigeria u will just pay chekere fine { small fine} to etihad like 100 dollars or so and your return ticket will be reactivated. Abeg look on t'he bright side and refire t'he valentony zeal to excel. Go out there and prosper, we care about you.
