One of my colleague exactly 38 as at then from Ohafia, Abia state was about to get married. Na so her family bill the fiance 1 million for bride price and insist say wedding must be the talk of the town as she is the first daughter. The guy japa after the meeting with her family. Who wan marry 38 year old woman with big money for this harsh Buhari economy? A year later, their daughter is still single.
Heard in Lagos, Igbo boys dey marry Yoruba and Delta girls anyhow because of the low costs.
If Igbo don't want to abandon their high bride price traditions, I am sorry a lot of their daughters will remain single mums for life.
