micynute94: Hello everyone... Pls I need your help o...
I've been using the Thermocool 3.75kVA gen for the past 2/3 months now and everything has been working fine until I started using a 1.5AC inverter HiSense with it.
It gives this "vibrating" sound like it's about to go off.
My neighbor uses the same gen to power two AC and it works fine.
I don't where the problem might be coming from. What else do you power with the AC? If your generator is the blue one, what's the frequency? If it's the yellow increase the running speed. |

DoggoneDogg: Care to explain why they have different displacements but same KW? You'll have to do some reading on Google. Power is not just a function of engine size, the coil matters too. Same thermocool has generators withe same 210cc but power is 3.75 and 2.5kva respectively. You'll see Firman with 270cc and 196cc with same power of 3.5kva. The bigger the displacement in cc or litres ,the bigger the horsepower produced and the more the fuel consumption. |

Vikkypee: Hello all, please kindly advise a good generator that can be effective with a submersible or normal pumping machine. I saw a Senwei 4.5kva on Jumia, I am not sure if it can do this job.
My budget: 120k to maybe 150k. You did not state the power of the pump. You'll need to raise your budget abit. |

DoggoneDogg: Professor, how is it possible that Sumec Firman has 270cc engine and Thermocool 223cc engine for the same generator of 3kw output??
Does this mean the Sumec is more powerful?? Not necessarily true. |

Ambihill: Please, getting 10w-30 in Warri is a herculean effort. Can 5w-30 be a substitute? Thanks in anticipation of your feedback Get 20W-50, this is Nigeria, temperatures will never go as low as 5degrees in Warri. If you are not comfortable with 20W-50 you can go for other weights like 10W-40. |

chrisatah94: Thankyou for your feedback. Please how did you identify as not original? I mean how will I differentiate original from the fake? Check their website for antifake. As for the one you uploaded, its supposed to be 2.8KW not 2.8KVA, they are not thesame thing. |

Thanks everyone for the help and feedback Uwc. |

chrisatah94: Good evening guys. Please can someone give review of this Gen please. Also can it carry my 200l deep freezer, 1.5hp AC, and LED TV? It won't power such AC effectively unless the AC is inverter type. Meanwhile this generator you uploaded is not original. |
Technology Market › Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Gptech(m): 7:34pm On May 27, 2022 |
ogunlowoluseun: Yes I did. It's 20W-50 that was recommended. I bought Total as I couldn't get Mobil around. Is it okay to continue with Mobil later on?
The engine start isn't working. I am not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I had to manual start before it came up. What could be the issue? Did you install the battery properly? There's a liquid ( electrolyte) you should pour into the battery case before connecting it. If you can upload pictures, it will help. |

ogunlowoluseun: Thanks sir. It has been delivered. I called but they said they'll get back to me.
I am yet to unbox it. So I don't know the recommended oil type to by. That's why I asked the above question? I need to set it up today Unbox and check the manual, recommended oil will likely be 20W-50. Check under the gen around the engine block to get the engine number , that's what the customer care people should check. |

Thanks No, sku is for jumia. When the item arrives, there should be a serial number for it. Open it to see it. |

Ambihill: Hello Professionals in the house ! Please the recommended oil for Firman Eco49990Es i bought recently is 10w - 30. I saw products like mobil, prime guard and prime guard premium on jumia. Mobli is pretty pricey. Please is prime guard a good oil? You can as well recommend alternatives.
Thanks Its not just about the name, the weight and Api value are more important. You can go for Total 20w-50. |

Ambihill: Please, in the addition, the Eco49990es fuel consumption is quite high. How do i reduce it? How long does a particular litre of fuel last you? What do you normally power with it? |

remi1444: 2— what’s a good oil changing interval based on hours. Generator doesn’t take much load, an SPG3000 powering a table side fridge, fan and charges laptop and max 5 phones?
3— what’s are your standard oil products that you can suggest. I’m currently using SEAHORSE. Oil change should be between 60-100 hours max. Assuming oil standards are same, you should be looking at SAE 10w-30 or 20W-50. The former is really pricey. You can go for either Mobil or Total. |

debowale2015: Good evening prof and all other experienced fellow here.
Just need a sincere advice to my question.
My Gen(Lutian 2.5kva) has developed all kinds of engine related problems thereby giving me an impression of wasting money in terms of repairs. Ots either valve today, or carburettor. Currently it shortens oil and I have been consistently repairing it even after ringing it months ago.
A street GEN engineer(repairer) wants to sell an half engine to me for 20k. He said the engine was removed out of a GEN with bad coil.
Should I risk buying the half engine from him or I rather buy tokunbo(new engine) or I rather safe up expediently for a new GEN.
Note; my current GEN coil has not been worked on before safe changing of AVR and brush sometimes ago. Half engine for 1.8kva is currently far above 20k let alone for 2.5kva. Better to count your loss and get a new generator before dem take you shine again. |

ogunlowoluseun: Just seeing this...
I also just ordered for the thermocool bobo 2800ES from jumia express. It's currently not in the thermocool store and several other vendors I checked with. I however called their customer care to confirm it's availability before processing the order.
I'm hoping I made the right call. I needed a generator urgently and it seemed like a good fit. When it arrives, call the customer service again to confirm the serial number. |

BuyAndSellStuff: Okay. Too bad though because the gen is pretty. Just confirmed that there's electric start for it, you'll need to go to their stores to see it. The picture you posted confirms it but their website is saying otherwise. The Es in the model name confirms its electric start. Their website nor get head.

Dedewizzy: Greetings house,
I intend getting a TEC (Haier thermocool) generator online, konga precisely since thermocool's showroom is quite a distance from my present location. Konga offers me a home delivery and price is less than what the physical showroom has to offer. Is a a wise thing to do?
Kindly advise..
CC: Gptech Generally not a good idea to buy generators online. If you must go ahead, call their customer care line so you can send them the serial number to confirm its genuine. |

BuyAndSellStuff: Just 9 months?? I thought they said TEC is the best? Lol The best? One of the best in the Nigerian market is a better way to put it. If you misuse any generator no matter the brand, same thing will happen. |

Teedeechian: No, currently have a pair of 1.5hp inverter, plus a pair of standing AC will make it 2. Now I understand you. At least an 8.5kva generator should solve your issue, just ensure the standing AC is inverter type also. |

Technology Market › Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Gptech(m): 7:52pm On May 20, 2022 |
earthrealm: Chooooi...those standing acs are usually 3hp and 5hp.....only an 8.5kva petrol gen stands a chance @ powering the 3hp, when new..
Best you get an 18kva diesel generator. They are more reliable when it comes to heavy loads. Petrol gens are best run at less than 40% of their rated capacity, if you want them to last long He is even talking about adding a pair, which is a total of 3 Acs, diesel is surely the way to go. |

KallmemrB0: thank you Boss. Was busy today couldn't go... Thanks alot but Can I get a 4.5kvs or 3.5kv for 150k Naaa, 4.5kva is well over 200k, 3.5kva I think from over 170k depending on if its manual or electric start. |
