Look from 3.5kva but this will depend on the power of the washing machine and electric kettle especially. It's cheaper to use gas than to use an electric kettle with a generator.

That's weird, if it's still under warranty you should return it.

What other items are loaded with the fan or TV? Press the little button close to the VFT metre and check the frequency, it should not be less than 50Hz. If it is more than 50HZ, you'll need to increase the firing speed.

No need to reduce it especially if you plan to use it to power higher loads like refrigerators or freezers.

I was a bit concerned as the recommended oil is 10W30.

Naaaa, no adverse effect as long as you live in Nigeria.

Please what does it do?

It displays the voltage, frequency and running time of the generator. It's really useful if you want to get an accurate timing of when to change oil and carry-out other types of servicing.

Any is good, power is same. Personally, I will choose the blue one because of the VTF display and for aesthetics.

My Luthian 3.5kva generators electricity cannot carry the compressor of my 315L thermocool deep freezer.. The freezer turns on , but when the compressor wants to start, it drops it or sometimes the compressor
starts and drops a minute later .. Nepa/Eko disco light runs it perfectly but my generator cant.

Was it working before now? You may need to increase the running speed of the generator.

I have no idea currently of the price. Was around 6k for 1 litre I think some months ago. You can get the 20W–50 weight of Mobil or Total if you are using it for your generator.

This is true. Its cheaper to spend money on expensive products that will last.

This is what happens when bodies like SON are redundant. My Nexus started rusting from that same spot barely 2 years after purchase. I think virtually all manufacturers of house hold and other items in Nigeria cut cost by using inferior materials because they know that they are answerable to no one. If its possible, its better to get foreign used of certain items just to be sure of getting good quality.

My Sumec Firman SPG3000 generator suddenly stop powering my fridge. From what I noticed, it's typical when the voltage is low. Recently I've been using it on a water pumping machine, something I never did in time past.

Please could that be the reason for low voltage? If yes, how do I solve it and get my generator to power my fridge again?

If you can take it to around 52Hz its not bad, but it should not be less than 50Hz.

Just under the display there's a very small button. Press the button repeatedly to change from Voltage to frequency to run time.

There's something definately wrong. Take it back to the seller if its still under warranty. If its the blue coloured type you have, check the frequency if its too high.

Regarding pricing for the spg2200, I see sumecplaza quoted it for 87k on their online store.
However, what remains now is for me to be sure sumec plaza in apapa is a genuine place to get original sumec firman. Any idea on that? Referral to genuine authorised sumec dealers in lagos will be appreciated too.
Also, how can i check if a sumec firman generator is original or fake?

I should have come here to ask before rushing off to buy my generator today �

My inverter died last night (due to no PHCN power for 2 days). I had to go sleep in my car at about 3am when the inverter died. I woke up in the morning, rushed out and bought a Sumec Firman SPG3000e2 generator. It cost me N180,000. Due to my desperation, I didn’t ask them fundamental questions. Now I’m using it and it doesn’t power the most important things.

Please can you guys help advice me:
I need a generator that can power (at the same time)
1. My inverter 1.5kva
2. My fridge 200ltrs (I don’t know the watt etc)
3. My small deep freezer
4. 1.5 hp Ac ( if it can even power only 1 of my ac’s, I’m ok)

At least a 4.5 KVA generator should do the trick and make sure you get an original. As for your current generator, start with the biggest load which is the AC, and then the freezer, before turning the other appliances on one by one.

Your budget should be over 200k. Get either Sumec or Tec with at least 3000 starting watts.
