Hello please how do I lower fuel consumption on my SPG 8000E2?

How many litres does it consume in say an hour? Or how long does say 1k fuel last? This is a big gen and it naturally consumes more fuel than smaller generators.

Its a 2.5kva , the engineer said both the coils are damaged.. and he will change both for 40k..he later brought a buyer who said he can buy the gen for 10k.. i said no thanks i would rather repair and keep using.. reason for wanting to sell is cos i have three gens, 2big and 1small.. but i would rather repair than sell it cheap cos of the ruggedity and originality of the gen,it doesnt make noise, never gives trouble, thats why i brought the issue on here,cos its only this one engineer thats been servicing it..
Note- the gen starts with just one pull, but it isnt bringing current,hence the engineer's verdict that both of the coils is damaged..

Get another engineer to access the situation as advised and if truly the coils are bad, it's better you get new coils.

There is nothing like capacitor in 3.5kva ...it uses AVR ..

Check the following..

The AVR
The brush
The small coil in the middle
The big coil

These engineers sef, avr and capacitor in one generator, smh.

First swap the sims and see if it works on the Samsung.

Check your manual for the API level. You can get other oil weights like what you posted or 20W-50 but the API level should be met

Look at your manual and check the API level. This particular oil is not suitable for the Hustler. API levels with higher alphabetical order are higher. For instance, SH is higher than SJ. You need something equal to or higher than yours

It actually powers it now… I said I’ll update you yesterday but I forgot… I didn’t even have to increase the speed again… the generator powers it with my refrigerator and tv together without any stress… thanks for the tips boss��

i have been there many times. They don't have parts there. Even call them 2 days ago. They said even if they have it they will have to get it from their lagos office. Parts are scarce there. I was recommended to use fireman carburetor

Yes, parts are scarce, but they should be able to get you an original Firman. They repair Firman generators too.

Means you have been overstressing the generator, you shouldn't bother using it with the AC, actual power is not up to what is written on the generator. A 3.5kva generator should power even a 1.5HP inverter AC without stress.

You stay at Warri right? Carry your generator to their service center close to GTB by refinery junction, they have it there.

Turn off other appliances when using it. You can increase the running speed if its low too.

I hope you didn't leave it out in the rains, otherwise, it's possible your battery has issues.

I have a gen that outputs 187v, I changed the AVR and it's still outputting 187v and under load will reduce to 185v.

Will adjusting the AVR solve my problem or there's a bigger issue?

210V will not power some items properly, so yes, adjust the AVR to read between 220-230V. Forget about fuel conversation, so long the running speed is ok.

If I get you correctly, you mean your generator makes a sound as if a heavy load is connected to it any time your refrigerator is on. And this sound can occur up to 3 times when generator is on. From what you said, it doesn't happen when the refrigerator is off. I suspect your refrigerator turns on and off intermitently during this period of time.

Take an engineer with you, na dis gen get fake pass. It will carry the AC assuming its original.

Do you mean 3.5kva and 4.5 kva? One of the most popular Sumec generators the SPG3000 is 3.5kva.
