Akorkor:Beet root may be d cause. It's high in iron |

My cappo @ phlakkeys, I dey. It isn't easy anymore. I dey pity myself cos I haff tire oooo. I suddenly lost my appetite and heartburn is dealing with me. My baby wan use head scatter my pelvic bones ooo. I'm seriously counting days. I no fit reach that my edd ooo. I'm giving myself till 3rd of July. God will make it easy for us all and perfect all that concerns us. |
This is my face when I see October mamas complaining of waist pain and pressure in their vijay . Make una wait till September nah, this one na preamble. |
Emdee590:I can't remember the names of the supplements but supplement or no supplement, your child needs B complex and omega 3,6 and 9. Try as much as you can to get the child to eat foods that are rich in these minerals and vitamins. The truth is that the body sometimes only take about 10% of some of these supplements but absorb more from what we eat and some of these vitamins are not stored by the body. You didn't tell us the age of the child but you can blend some fruits and vegetables for the child and always give the child egg yolk. |
sexyjuly:It's rare but very possible. Pregnancy is a miracle and a mystery that only God can explain. I've heard of babies flipping from breech position to cephalic when you least expect it. Miracles still happen. I'll suggest the person involved should still do a scan at 36 and 37 weeks to check if things will change. If it doesn't change, give thanks to God and go for CS. See it as an act of God what matters most is both mother and baby alive and healthy. In a nutshell, yes, both complete and partial low lying placenta can move up at 36 weeks. |
queenhecate:Your placenta is attached in front. It's not a bad. It can attach in front, back or posterior, left or right side. The position of the placenta is determined by where the fertilized ovum implants in the womb. Most times, if you have an anterior placenta you don't feel the baby kick on time or strongly until in your third trimester. It's only a problem if it refuses to move up i.e. If the placenta is covering the cervix that's when the doctor will be worried. |
Blessedmum:Chaiii, congratulations to her. This scan issue ehhhh, I refuse to allow afraid to catch me ooo. |
Benignasweety:Yes. |
Benignasweety:It's taken twice @ 6 and 10 weeks. I think they don't administer it once the baby is 24 weeks. Biko Nnem, get out from that toxic environment. Don't let anyone cajole you to stay back. Even if he apologizes now, you really need some fresh air. Even if your in laws love you so much, you are married to their son and he doesn't deserve you. That boy has no iota of respect for you. You deserve better than this. Nothing will happen to your baby. You have a future ahead of you. Forgive and forget him and never allow anyone to treat you this way again. Work on yourself and be the best God has created you to be. My thoughts and prayers are with you. |
Giddyperson:I think she meant 7 weeks not months. I can bet with my left butt that her baby is far from being 7 month old. I know when she announced her BA if my memory doesn't fail me. If it's 7 weeks, rotavirus is still possible. |
ftmum:I'm not doubting you but if you actually read about reflux, you'll see it is an effortless spit up or vomiting in babies. I don't know where you saw forceful vomiting. Some reflux actually occurs because the digestive system is not fully developed and corrects itself with time. I wish I can send you some links but please search babycenter and see other mums experience before they start loading your baby with medication. Thank you. |
ftmum:I suggest you read about reflux and mention it to your paediatrician on your next visit. Sometimes Nigerian doctors tend to forget some issues they don't handle frequently just like allergies in children. What you described above looks like reflux and may not necessarily be caused by anything but just needs proper handling. Read up on reflux and let's know what your doctor says. |
ftmum:How often do you feed him? I hope your baby doesn't have reflux. It may not really be over feeding. |
jazzyjazz:They've come again oooo |
zaynie:The carters they sell in the market is spelt as cartars. |
edithodg:Welcome teamie. Wish you the best of your remaining preg days. Sharp sharp delivery with plenty money, healthy baby and mama and a happy daddy. It will surely end with praise and congratulations. Cc phlakkeys. |
edithodg:It is safe. The rule at this stage is that if it is safe for a baby, then it is safe. Treat that infection to avoid stories that touch. Besides, identify with your team and stop showing up to collect free information when you have a question. Thank you. I know you are in team July so sama us your edd and baby sex ![]() Cc @ phlakkeys. ![]() |
zaynie:I didn't upload any pics. I still don't know what happened but was able to post something after deleting several times. Thank you. |
What could lead to increased HR in a foetus? Increased baby activity. Infection or fever in the mother. Placenta abruption/bleeding. Baby playing with the placenta or unknown factors. Dehydration. When you are faced with this type of situation, lie quietly on your left side and take more fluid both orally and intravenous and be recheck the HR every 10 to 20 minutes. After which an US scan may be necessary to be sure that everything is ok with the baby. |
Hmmm. Finally I was able to post something. Points to note: 1. This is not the regular consultatant I see on my ANC days. 2. My pregnancy is not a high risk one. 3. I have nothing against CS when it's very necessary. I just followed my instinct, asked questions and did my own research. 4. I was about 36w+5 preg. 5. This is my 4th pregnancy. The baby's heart rate is one of the routine checks carried out by the doctor on each visit. Usually during the third trimester, the normal HR is 120 to 160. Sometimes it can shoot up to 180 to 220. As long as it fluctuates btw the normal range and the high range and stabilizes within the normal range after some minutes, the doctor may not be worried. If it remains within d high range, it could be a sign of distress or a cardiac issue with the foetus. Any HR below d normal range is dangerous and could lead to brain damage or death of the baby. Most times the mother will need oxygen support and immediate evacuation of the baby. |
Wednesday was my routine ANC day. I got to d hospital around 11am hale and hearty. My bp that morning was 100/50. Went into the doctor's office, teased and joked with the doctor, told him I had no complain and was asked to lie down. Immediately the Doppler touched my stomach, I started hearing loud and fast heartbeat. The doctor stopped, called the second consultant and checked again, the same Thing. The next thing I knew was medical jargons were flying over my head. I just kept calm. A line was set up for me, was connected to a CTG machine, I heard call d a aesthetisiologist, prepare a room for the patient. Initially, it was as if I was lost in my own world after a while, I came back to my senses and asked d doctor what was going on. He told me it seems d baby is in distress and the only option is for an emergency CS to be carried out. I tried my husband and couldn't reach him on his cell phone. I asked them to give me some time to put myself together. I went into d room already prepared for me, declined the oxygen they wanted to put for me and started declaring God's word on my baby. I questioned all their move, I no wan hear story. After awhile, my baby's heart rate dropped within the normal range. I just told them I want to go home. I was made to sign my discharge against medical advice. I was at the hospital today, my baby's HR was very ok and the movement was perfect. I still can't wrap my head on what transpired that day. |
Giddyperson:Ok. I'll try again. |
Giddyperson:I copied it but each time I paste to post it, the unexpected error comes up. Maybe I'm banned from posting long comments. |
Long story cut short, I went for my ANC on Wednesday and the consultant I met almost carried out an emergency CS on me. The whole drama that played out is still a shock to me but I thank God my baby and I are doing great. Please mamas, always ask questions. On each visit, find out your weight, bp, baby's heart rate and just get involved in what is going on. Don't just assume things and leave the doctors without knowing what is happening. |
Infact, I'm tired of nairaland and it's unexpected error that keeps displaying each time I want to post a comment. Please is there anything I'm doing wrong. Since yesterday, I've been trying to post what I typed but it's just not working. I hate typing and doing it repeatedly without posting is frustrating. |
Nairaland has refused to post my comments. I'll keep trying. |
Present @ cappo phlakkeys. You were really in the spirit when you declared that this our journey will only end in praise and congratulations. I hope nairaland permits me to type my experience on Wednesday because I know some mamas will learn one or two lessons from there. |
Pweetiebabe:Hope you don't have UTI, it could cause that. Increase your water intake, reduce your salt intake, eat cucumbers, bananas and avoid stress. Work with your doctors, they'll need to carry out more tests. After d long epistle I typed, nairaland refused to post it. I haff tired. |
This man is a big liar. It's quite unfortunate. He wasn't forced to say anything. I pity those that will believe his lies. Let's see how far this lie will take him. |
