So what's your issue with president coming from Southeast since you admit competent people can be found therein?
I don't have any issue with wherever the president comes from.

I only have issue with your myopic opinion that want the president not come from other regions primarily because southeast and northeast are yet to take their turn.

So to you, competence resides anywhere else but Southeast and Northeast?
No, competence can be found anywhere including southeast and northeast. Do you think otherwise?
Politics › Re: What's Wrong With An Umahi/zulum APC Ticket For 2023? by Great2017: 7:54pm On Jan 07, 2021
OfficialAwol:
You chose to close your eyes to the reasons I gave for projecting Umahi and Zulum.

You didn't read where I talked about Umahi doing much with little resources?

You didn't read where I talk about him being a trailblazer?

You didn't read where I said of Zulum to be a believer of merit and that he is detribalized?

Did you suspend cognition and reason just so you could criticize?
Find below your own words:

"And being that Buhari is a northerner commonsense, equity, fairness and the need for national cohesion demands that power should come to South, nay Southeast."

"Now, in the Southeast, Umahi would be APC's best bet with his trailblazing performance in Ebonyi with little resources, he beats a corrupt Orji Uzor Kalu or an imbecilic Okorocha hands down."

"Then pair him with another trailblazer in the Northeast, Umaru Zulum. A man that has demonstrated intelligence, his belief in merit, a builder and a detribalized northerner."

"It's a simple calculation that Zulum would succeed Umahi in 2031 to make up for Northeastern quest for power."

"Because after Obasanjo and Osinbajo's 8 years apiece as President and Vice President of this country, Osinbajo, Fayemi, Tinubu or anyone from Southwest has no business with the presidency in 2023."

Your primary reason why the duo should be considered for the presidency is because their regions have not produced the president since 1999.

To you, competence is important if only the candidates hail from either the Southeast or the Northeast regions.

How long shall we continue with this myopic way of doing things? Nigeria should come first before any regional sentiment.
Politics › Re: What's Wrong With An Umahi/zulum APC Ticket For 2023? by Great2017: 6:09pm On Jan 07, 2021
Your priority for Nigeria is on how to appease zones perceived not to have had a fair shot at the presidency. This is absolutely ridiculous. A Nigeria that works for all is far more important than where the president comes from.

jesmond3945:
The power of a currency comes from its country of origin and also it's ability to buy locally made goods rather than imported. We don't spend dollars in Nigeria, we spend im naira. Now I mentioned earlier that whatever is imported into the country automatically becomes expensive except what we produce. Coke is imported and bottled in Nigeria. The secret ingredients of coke is not made in Nigeria. Secondly, power issue. It costs more to produce your bottle of coke in Niaja than in US. I can tell you that most of our foodstuffs imported into America are very expensive for this same reason. Tell Nigerians in diaspora how much they spend in african shop compared to the equivalent in foreign shops. The guy is saying if you seek imported goods to locally produced ones, you have to take responsibility and bear the cost rather than lamenting why the naira currency is lower against the dollar.
Nigeria would rather buy imported palm oil for 5000 naira than buy their locally produced for 400 naira, so what is the business of govt in that? The only way to make naira stronger is cut down on importation and generate more power and also let Nigerians be productive more because they are generally lazy.
How much is our local rice and how much is the foreign one?

This is absolutely true.
We are looking for solutions from the wrong government.
Let them allow LGA to be autonomous and financially independent, then, we will face our LGA. For now, Federal Government and the governor's share our common patrimony between themselves and should be responsible for the rot they have created over the years.

I am very sure that this dishonest governor never allowed LGAs to be financially independent when he was the governor of Lagos State.

TimeManager:
Buhari is not a dynamic party leader. APC has lost a number of sates than it had in 2015. Even if Buhari was the PDP party leader, he would have lost more states & practically would have left PDP for dead. I bet he dosen't understand how President rallies round & mobilises party stalwarts to stabilize & gain control of more states. States across the federation work their socks off to ensure your victory, the least you can do is ensure maximum support than being laid back in Abuja.

kiss the truth!
Which kiss the truth are you talking about?

You want Buhari to use the instruments of the State to rig elections for Tinubu and Oshiomhole.

Come on, let us reason and work for a better Nigeria.

Well, since they're advanced, they'll surely have advanced means of "buying and selling" votes. I've never actively taken part in the electioneering process in any developed country, hence I'll limit the scope of this discuss to Nigeria, where, atleast, I have.
In other words, you are not sure of your claims.

Generally, electioneering process may not be perfect globally but ours is a complete mockery of what it ought to have been.

This trend is a big shame.

Is there any nation as developed as the US? If they questioned the integrity of their election and the upcoming one, what then will be said of developing and underdeveloped ones.
We are talking about election merchandising and not integrity. Stop deflecting our argument.

Since, you claimed winning elections in developed countries is by buying and selling. Kindly name just 10 developed countries where the winning of elections is by buying and selling.

Even if they triple their Edo energy, they can't win Ondo. Edo was simply traded just to demystify Tinubu and finally relegate Oshomole
So, winning an election under the APC has become a commodity that is now traded for the highest bidder. It is no longer the people's votes that should win elections.

Anyway, Edo, my beloved ancestral home, is not on sale.

Obaseki clearly did almost nothing in Edo state in his first term, yet you're celebrating his second term. Don't you know that his second term is going to be worse since he has nothing to lose anymore?

Truly the problem of the country is not only the politicians but the average Nigerian who lacks vision.

You're only campaigning for Obaseki just to spite Oshiomole and APC, do you have sense at all?
Unless you're not from Edo state, otherwise you've sold your future already.
