HeavenlyBang: You can debadge it, chief. People would just assume it's another SUV. Those cars don't stand out at all.
I guess the S6 is your best option, then. Oboy that Porsche might make me see northeast like this. I think I will pass. |

HeavenlyBang: Seems to want German, though. MB would be the best option, but he doesn't like the brand, which is a fair take imo.
Cadillac doesn't offer a V8 outside the V series. Lexus V8s are pretty uninspiring. BMW V8s all have rod bearing issues.
Only option here for him is an Infiniti M56, which should scratch that speed itch.
Have you considered Porsche? You can get a Cayenne S with the 4.5L V8 within your budget. It's a Porsche, it's built for handling and speed. Oga sir , the kind of job am into, its better to go discreet. Porsche name alone carries some swag. The thing with Audi is even if the car is worth 1bn, people might not really know except automobile experts. And again I just want another new black Audi so no one will even know really know I changed my car. |

uboma: It's been over 7 years I visited Kenya. I cannot recal the exact total cost but I know it didn't exceed 3000USD at the time.
With the inflation rate now, it may cost a bit higher. But you will 'see and feel' nature in Naivasha, Kenya. Lemme plan things towards December. Hopefully the pandemic would have be off then and all countries wud have found there footing. Will ask you to put me thru the processes when the tie comes |

uboma: Is Kent Wildlife also in ZIM? I am aware of the one in the UK though.
I am yet to make the trip..... The outbreak of covid-19 pandemic and the resultant ban on international travels spoilt my plans.
You will enjoy wildlife at its peak in Kenya, not too expensive too. Total you spent to Kenya and back including miscellaneous should be how much. |

The electrical issues are less than what the Audi/Volkswagen is offering you..... Never tried a BMW before..... Been Benz and Audi from cradle till now. Like an inherited trait |

uboma: Once again, thanks for your contribution.
I have visited Kenya in the past, had a feel of the nature and it's wildlife at its peak.
In the midst of the seeming crisis and economic downturn in Zimbabwe, I am positive to see a thing or two that will catch my interest. I am going for personal reasons.
There is no information about the exchange rates online. I may just have to wait till I get there to get first hand information. Is Kenya wildlife worth sight seeing? Am thinking of going on a low budget Vacation my next pass. Perhaps a game reserve or so |

nurey: I am not a specialist of any car though.
When going out with the car on long journey I don't buy less than 10k worth of fuel then not that I even use it finish.
I normally run city driving just joy ride the car around town and enjoy the many available facilities it has to offer.
I don't really expect you to be concerned about fuel economy people who buy such cars are only concerned about performance from the engine and status it would give them. Am more concerned about speed.... Rn dealer said Dollar don rise sef. His advising me to mark time a bit perhaps it will come down |

nurey: Your picture shows a 4.2L V8 and a 6.0L W12 there is no V12 there.
The W12 is a very responsive engine power on demand racer, competition destroyer. Fuel economy is Manage-per-gallon
But if the engine spoil for your hand, my brother nah millions of naira be that, for all it's worth for the 3months I had the phaeton at my Beck and call never had engine problem, most issues had to do with electrical issues. Are u an Audi specialist? Manage per gallon... That means its not friendly at all. |

Car Talk › Re: Audi S8 2007 by greatbrian(op): 9:45pm On May 30, 2020 |
HeavenlyBang: Haha.
My statement is all I have to say, chief.
It's a numbers game. People drive S Classes, they're not dead. An S8 is essentially an S550, but with the added expenses Audi introduces in this country.
An Audi typically costs more to own than a Benz in Nigeria. Owning an S8 means you're probably owning one of the most maintenance-intensive cars around.
Like all cars, treat it right and it will treat you right. Apart from when things randomly decide to break down. That's when you have to shell out money. Things randomly break down on all cars, but you'll just have to spend more on the S8.
As I said, e be like say you like to dey troway money. You seem to be having issues with an A4 already. The A4 is an entry-level car. The S8 is Audi's absolute most technological car. Do the math. The A4 is due to bad hand monitoring it. I posted the fault here on Nairaland. From the first day it came in, na water collector issue to fuel pump to another one. Less than 6month of used sef. But I have fixed all the issues now after it gave other issues last Sunday. Got a new brain box 160k yesterday, got a new fuel pump and some other stuffs. The car is in perfect shape now. But I Shud I say I have seen the end of the speedometer of the vehicle so I feel have enjoy all the pleasure it has to give. Thats y am going for a bigger and faster version. |

nurey: Audi S8 is in the league of S class, an advice from someone who drove and cared for a VW phaeton with W12 engine.
1. The S8 is a very luxurious vehicle and in high class, the maintenance is only pocket friendly when you do the right thing at the right time.
2. It needs a good technician to handle it's issues when they arise, someone calm and patient who find out things before dabbling into it.
3. When something breaks the part are a bit on the high side though depending may be hard to source locally but eBay got your back.
4. Depending on how often the car is used, things do fail often but gives warning and never breakdown but goes into limp mode.
from your statement if you can dool out 200k at a go without soaking garri for a month then buy a clean title, low mileage well maintained Audi S8 unit Thanks boss. I saw one with V12 engine rn. A dealer sent it to me for preorder. Dnt even know if its in the S8 league. But I really can't wait to match that had between obajana and kabba. Tnx for the review. But do you know anything about the V12

I wise Nairalanders. Please I need review on the car Audi S8 2007. Am an ardent fan of Audi and I got an Audi A4 around November last year which have spent a fortune fixing different issue since I bought it, from water collector to brain box. Infact just last week out of no money I still spend over 200k buying brain box etc. I intend buying another Audi since to me Audi is elegant and beauty and won't even let people know how heavy your machine is. Now issue is am thinking about about Audi S8 2007 what do you guys think of this car and is there anyone who have used it before? The maintenance and other factor about it nko. And I need to know the landing cost of this car
