I received a call few days ago from my elder sister that my younger sister has put to bed( she's not married). She's a graduate in her early 20's not bad looking at all. She said that they don't want to tell me as my sister was very depressed before the birth of the child -even suicidal.

She developed post-partum depression after the birth of her child.

One of the reasons being that she was not experienced in these things and the man who put her in the family way promised to marry her so he could have his way.

It was after she took in that she found out he is married.

That's when trouble started... They're more than 200km away from me and I'm quite busy with studies (though there's suspension of academic activities in school for now due to the pandemic).She said they didn't want to tell me so I don't become disorganized in school.The family is not aware I've been told.My elder sister warned me not to let her know I'm aware. But I'm kinda close to her but the question now is considering her state of mind, should I let her know I'm aware or should I continue to pretend even when we speak on phone? Pls I need your advice.

Pls try not to be judgemental. This is not made up. I'm very depressed as well.

Contact her through WhatsApp. Greet her,tell her encouraging words. Don't mention her delivery. You can chat her two or three times a day,just write sweet words,let her know you and other family members love her and her praying for her. Soon she will open to you herself.
I don't know why we treat child outside wedlock as one big evil, nonsense. Children are blessings, irrespective of whether the mother is married or not. Please you should all support her financially and other wise to raise the baby.
Your sister is young and naive,many go into labor room and come out dead,she and her baby are Hale and healthy,she should be happy and grateful to God.

i have noticed that some people in nairaland forum are bitter and sad,the choose to attack anybody. please let help one another.

These are some reasons below
1. Poverty/ hunger: An hungry man they say is an angry man. They see nairaland as an opportunity to insult and pour out their frustration.
2. Lack of home training: Imagine a female nairander who made a post about her mother who just gave birth? My mother last gave birth 30 years ago. These same kids will insult anyone they see because the forum is faceless and they cannot be tracked.
3. Bitterness as a result of politics: These are the ones I detest most. They wake up and sleep in bitterness. They are still angry about the election results of decades ago. Reason why I don't go to politics section ever, unless it makes front-page and I rarely comment on politics section. Very rare.

If govt can open up markets why can't they open schools.

To avoid over crowding..creche,nursery and primary 1 and 2 should open two times a week.while primary 3 to six should open the remaining 3 days.

By doing so it will make students easy to control by there teachers..Teachers will find it easy to make them obey laws like washing of hands and wearing face mask.

Break time should be scrapped to avoid unessesary play.

If students and teachers don't come to school every day it will make schools reduce school fees which parents will benefit from and teachers won't waste money on transport becos there salary will be reduced.
Schools should open so teachers especially the widows,single parent and those that have families amongst them can earn something.

You know I taught for about two years after NYSC, during this lockdown I was just thinking how my life would have been if I was still teaching in Private schools. I wonder how those private school teachers are coping this time. Even then without lockdown,many delay salary unnecessarily,with all the hard work. Now that the teachers are not working I wonder how it will be for them.

What has all your aggressive prayers done for you? If your child comes to ask something from you and he asked violently or aggressively,how will you feel?

Finally, I was able to capture a snake alive without hurting it. Its still small, not more than 2weeks hold from the look of things. The specie happens to be House brown snake, they are non-venomous snakes. You can confirm... Its day 2 with it. But just wondering where I can get pink mice or anything to feed her with. She's a female. I checked for that also. Hope its not a bad idea?

Since it's non venomous,good way to go then. But such pets doesn't fit a normal African settings. We are not used to having snakes as pet. Imagine your parents coming over to your house and seeing a snake,I could bet they will refuse to sleep over in that house,no be African parents again?
I remember a documentary I watched on may Geo about people killed or almost killed by their pet. There's this girl who loves snakes so much,she had many snake pets and also license to keep them. She wanted to have a Gabon viper but the authority refused. She went to buy the viper and kept it illegally. She was bitten by the same viper and died

I love fruits a lot and I take oranges,water melon and pineapple almost everyday. But I still take chivita and chi exotic sometimes. None of these guys above talking trash can beat their chest they will live longer than those who take this drink. Now it's N150/5 seats, meaning the driver gained just N50 more than before.
Ogba bustop to College was N50/4 seats keke maruwa
Now it's N100/2 seats, meaning the driver gained nothing more than before.
Ogba to Oshodi was N200/17 seats big yellow bus,
Now it's N250/ 9 seats, meaning the driver lose about N1250.
So far in Lagos the drivers have been fair.
