but accept?
Fulani-led north is further reshaping Nigeria to Fulani desires by using instruments of government.
Fulani is playing far ahead of southern politicians, right from when Fulani used northern military dictators to create too many states in one northern region of Nigeria.
Southern soldiers were at the AFRC then when the states were created but they didn’t understand the implications- political over-representation for the north led by Fulani. |

Bola Tinubu could have easily become President of Nigeria if he had teamed up with Jonathan government to implement the recommendations of the National conference.
From 1999 till 2014, no Nigerian politician asked for political restructuring of Nigeria, more than Bola Tinubu.
From the present political structure created by northern soldiers, no southern Nigerian can win presidential election in Nigeria unless Core north is not interested in ruling Nigeria. |

More importantly, every serious leader must have a development blueprint before elections. Blueprint? If we make you governor of Imo state tomorrow and you have a BLUEPRINT of investing about 98% of your development efforts on development of Owerri capital territory, like Okorocha did, you are a big CLOWN in politics. How many votes or support come from Owerri capital territory? Yampotatocarrot: I've heard a lot about these complaints of developing Owerri and leaving other zones, and I agree that they are right.
However, I will like to know. Is there any particular reason for this? The governors who made these error are not from Owerri zone, is there any reason why they decided to abandon their regions?
We all know it's not because Owerri has the voting population to turn things around. If it was so, Ihedioha would have become governor long time ago. As Amah70 rightly said, if all the allocations for Imo state are being spent on the capital and looking at the current state of that capital, one begins to wonder, where do all the money go? Is Construction work in Owerri so expensive to gulp all the fund allocated for 27 local governments?
Why have the governors from ORLU and OKIGWE zone always refused to bring development to their zones?
Please, those knowledgeable about this should help us out Rochas Okorocha was responsible for making Owerri the only town to develop in Imo state. Because Okorocha never had good formal education, when he became governor, he took to government house the native dispute he had with a traditional ruler from Orlu during the 1990s. As governor, he saw the whole of Orlu and people in it as enemies. That’s Iberiberism that brought him Ohashierism which has now paralyzed Okorocha politically. All those things he built in his village are now in ruins, nobody wants to touch them - even with wearing gloves and masks. |

Land owners in Owerri smile to the banks after getting millions of Naira from selling a plot of land. They clap for the governors and come online to deposit photos of roads in Owerri. Coldie: Make una no vex o. But I hardly ever see where the IMO state government is commissioning anything outside owerri area.
Why can't the state government construct roads in other local govt? We vex o. Most of us o. Since 2007, beginning with Ohakim, Imo state governors build only state capital roads, bridges and drainage system, they then build one or two double lanes roads in their villages. Because the governors have no attachment to the other principal urban centers in the state, they treat them like rural villages. We see Imo governors showcasing kilometers of drainage gutters and roads in the state capital as their government achievements, but floods devastate other urban centers in Imo state owing to absence of drainage gutters. The governors have no attachment with those areas. Urban roads outside Owerri are now no-go areas. As Owerri urbanization extends to nearly all Owerri zone, new governors must build new roads and drainage gutters along too. The villages of these governors from Okigwe and Orlu zones remain rural, because the governors have no regard or attachment to the other principal urban centers in the two senatorial districts. |

B2mario: Stakeholders back Uzodimma on new Imo University of Agric by Gabriel Ogunjobi Our Reporter
Stakeholders from Umuagwo in Imo State, have lent their support to Governor Hope Uzodinma’s plan to establish a new Imo State University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences on their land.
The stakeholders had hitherto vehemently battled with past administrations against the establishment of the university because of the provision of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) and multi campus arrangement in the law establishing the university.
The stakeholders said they believed that the PPP provision was a ploy by a former governor to take over the university after leaving office, insisting that it must be 100 percent owned by the government.
Read Also: No past Imo governor has ever visited me — Victoria Mbakwe
The spokesman , Goddy Obodo, told newsmen yesterday at the Government House, Owerri, after the inauguration of the committee on the implementation of the university, that their fears were assuaged when Governor Uzodimma amended the law and removed the PPP clause
Uzodimma on Friday set up a committee on the guidelines for the implementation of the take-off of the new Imo University located in Umuagwo. Ohaji-Egbema with Prof. Ukachuwku Awuzie, former Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University and former President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), as the Chairman.
Others members of the Committee are; Mrs. Uwandu Uzoma Beatrice, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education (Secretary), Prof Victor Kogah, Prof Chidozie C. Eze, Prof Nkechi Ogoh, Prof Alloy Ojilere, Prof B. C Nwosu, Assoc. Prof Nwulu and Dr. T. I Igwe. Screen off 90% of Orlu senatorial zone from ever having a full government university, by making the Polytechnic a university of Agriculture nearest to Owerri. Only Umuagwo supports Hope in this political miscalculation. Hope Uzodinma, the undertaker about to finally bury development in 90% of Orlu zone. Rochas established a university in Nkwerre- centrally located to most of Orlu zone. Ihedioha closed it. Hope Uzodinma can’t use it, instead of another university nearest to Owerri in Umuagwo. |

whizqueen: My friend sent me this thread last night but I had too much to say so here we go.
I (A Nigerian girl living in Canada) will be responding to the OP's points and some other comments I found on the thread.
Are Nigerian Ladies in Canada lonely? Ofcourse we are! Are Nigerian girls in NIGERIA lonely? Hell yeah!!! Are Nigerian girls in other countries lonely? Absolutely!!!!! Being lonely is not a factor of location or person. It's about not finding the right friends/partner you vibe with.
Why did we immigrate? Bros are you kidding me? Canadian govt is paying me $2000 monthly and other benefits for losing income due to covid-19 Is that happening in Naija right now? All the money donated by philanthropist in Nigeria would soon disappear into the thin air without our govt giving explanation of any sort. Ofcourse, it's not bed of roses abroad neither were we expecting a man wrapped in a gift bag but please don't let your sentiments cloud your reasoning as to why people make immigration decisions abeg.
I personally feel attacked I recently posted a video on my YouTube Channel about finding love & online dating in Canada. It's asif this hope saw my video and wanted to attack me
What makes you think we would be interested in you to begin with? Don't pride yourself too much plis dear
If you like let the OP influence your decision and stop you from chasing your immigration dreams, last last it's up to you to decide what you want for your future.
Whilst I would agree with growing together with your partner and building with them. I think it's just shallow minded of anyone in this age and time to ask for women to chase marriage first before career. Marriage is not the ultimate not everyone sees marriage as an achievement. These days, if you crave for sex so much, you can pay someone to do it or get yourself a Love Machine, if you want a child, you can literally just buy a sperm and save yourself lots of stress. Most of us are yet to keep an open mind to these things, however if you want something badly there;s always a way to get it.
Most Nigerian men hate to see it happen, there are laws that protect women here and they would prefer dying single than to see women as their equals. A good number of them are control freaks and would rather their woman be at their beck and call for everything as opposed to having their marriage work as a partnership. Nigerian married man knowing the laws of the land will still go ahead and cheat on his wife with a girl living in the same condo with his wife. Una no even dey fear or respect una madam. If atall you really want to cheat, you cannot travel to Nigeria and secretly mess with girls that fancy IJGB crew or allen avenue. As expected, some women do exploit the situation but if you find yourself a god-fearing person and you do the right thing, no divorce laws or child custody issue would stop y'all from flourishing.
White men dont find us attractive? Laughs is Swahili On the contrary most men of other races have FETISH for Nigerian girls and Black girls in general. Maybe not long term in all cases tho but they reaaaaaaally fancy us and admire our enthusiasm towards life. Whilst most Nigerian girls would likely not wanna go for the likes of 'Ryan', 'Billy' and co it's not cos we don't find them attractive. Firstly, Naija guys are smart, intelligent and goal oriented. You see the average ones already have plans for their future and working towards it unlike the counterparts who are comfortable with just a high school degree. If a Naija guy is even into technical jobs he would try to be the best at it and work towards starting his own company in the near future. Secondly, coping with someone with a different culture, lifestyle, food, etc is honestly stressful. I was talking with one Persian guy and he said before we can kiss or hold hands, we have to be temporarily married. The other chinese guy is only about 5ft tall, I'm just wondering what he would look like in that department
In Nigeria, when you visit a guy at home, some would expect you to know that's express ticket to get laid with them. But here if you visit a guy at home, you can be almost certain that if you guys have sex it's cos you wanted it, no guy will try to lure or manipulate you to straff them or tell you when you came to my house what were you thinking. They know it's important to ask for your opinion or even avoid the whole situation altogether.
Something the OP failed to address is that the Loneliness spans across both men and women living in Diaspora. Even the white people find it hard getting a partner for themselves much less an immigrant that would probably take some time to fully settle in. The system is built to have everyone mind their business, that togetherness or family-spirit is missing.
All the naija guys and ladies in Toronto have finish dating themselves. It's such a small city, everyone knows eachother thru another person only a matter of time before you find out that; the guy toasting you is ex with your colleagues' friend. Or the guy you matched with on the dating app went on a date with your housemate the day before. Some would be married and they would be on the dating apps lying to other women.
Some of us don't even mind going back home to bring men here, but 'em guys just they find paper. Only few genuinely love and care for you. I kuku know people here already do that as business tho, some ladies/guys now charge up to $30,000 to marry people from home to help them get residency here.
There are tons of Nigerians in Canada groups on WhatsApp and Telegram some are just for singles and you find people of age 35, 40, etc filled with both women and MEN. Some guys eventually resort to going back home to marry the less exposed girls, but guess what happens once they reach YYZ airport? Oh well your guess is as good as mine. Their eyes go open finish.
A good number of Naija guys are single and desperately finding love as well as ladies. Truth is, we all crave for love. And that's not a bad thing to want. Finding a good match or significant other is a honestly a game of chance. Home and Abroad, White or Black race finding a partner is truly difficult and if you got lucky finding that one special person, you better love and cherish them truly.
I rest my case; I am in the comment section waiting for someone to jump on my mention and before you do so just remember: Opinions are like as5holes and everyone is entitled to one. So this is my opinion, I have free time today
Link to Original thread https://www.nairaland.com/5782313/chai-nigerian-girls-canada-lonely Your first explanation is enough to put decent people off: if you are lonely because you can't find the right man to vibe with, better leave planet Earth, and go to settle in Jupiter. In Jupiter, you can find the right man to vibe with. Mtcheeeew. Building your fence so that no man can climb it. |

The current security arrangement for Southeast is unconstitutional
By Aloy Ejimakor
The ‘expanded’ security meeting on Southeast held recently with SE Governors had an interesting posse of security chiefs in attendance, comprised of the following:
Maj-Gen Abubakar Maikobi (GOC, 82 Division, Nigerian Army). Air Vice-Marshall Idi Amin (Air Officer Commanding). Yusuf Ishaku (Director, DSS Anambra). A. J. Ibrahim (Director, DSS Abia State). H. E. Abdullah (Director, DSS Ebonyi). Bimbo Likinyo (Director, DSS Enugu). Abdullahi Denja (Director, DSS Imo). Mustapha Danduara (CP, Anambra State). Ene Okon (CP, Abia State). Awosola Awotinde (CP, Ebonyi State). Ahmadu Abdulrahman (CP, Enugu State). Rabiu Ladodo (CP, Imo State).
You will notice that there’s NO SINGLE IGBO or Southeast person at the helms of deciding matters of security (life and death) that concern people of Southeast.
This is unconstitutional.
It’s also wrong, ungodly and dangerous.
How can you secure a people without their participation? When you do that, it runs the grave risk of becoming a belligerent occupation, or worse - a benign conquest. Plus, it breeds popular distrust, which is antithetical to security.
Then, you wonder why the agitation is not letting up.
Southeast is a bonafide part of this country which is a Federation, NOT some unitary contraption.
With all due respects, SE Govs, Senators, Reps, where at thou? Where’s thy mojo? Are you not conscious of the stark reality that these times are perilous?
To Senators and Reps: Please sponsor resolutions against this. Raise a helluva of legislative hell. Start a self-righteous floor fight.
To Speakers of SE Houses of Assembly: Please pass unanimous resolutions conveying your collective legislative outrage. It carries moral and political force, sufficient to rock the boat.
To SE Governors: Please direct your Attorneys-General to immediately levy an aggressive constitutional suit under Section 232 of the Constitution. It might be a matter of first impression. Still, they should gird their loins and bring a flurry to bear.
Don’t allow them to agonize over the pros or cons or become intimidated by some legal ‘technicalities’. The pros are self-evident enough; and getting a fair shake out of this Nigeria, especially when it borders on your security, should admit of no technicalities. Never.
I could have commenced the suit myself but, as a private citizen, I lack the requisite constitutional vires or locus to do so under Section 232.
Besides, a geopolitical ‘class’ action - brought under the full faith and credit of entire Southeast - will pack far more punch than any private action pivoting on ‘discrimination’ under Section 42 of the Constitution.
And this: It’s no longer enough to just complain and go to sleep; or claim that someone is ‘quietly doing something’ through some back channels’. Which back channels?
Take a proactive and cogent action and do it in plain view. |
