With reliable capital, I will use 20 hectares for plantain farming. 10 hectares for Tme cassava farming. The remaining 20 hectares are for pepper, okra, beneseed, groundnut, etc.

Farming is lucrative but it's capital intensive.

first it's 50acres not fifty hectares, secondly, can a million naira achieve all you wrote above? I don't think so.

it's the job of the government to build dykes, flood channels, dams, dredging of river etc. This flooding if properly channelled is a blessing especially for agricultural irrigation purposes.

Only God knows what Buhari and his cabal are up to as we approach next year's election and of his regime. Why is the newspaper reporting the release of the victims after money was paid as a military rescue in the same news article? Mad people everywhere.

Can two million naira drill a borehole and establish a commercial sized fishpond in Enugu state for someone who already have the land? I don't think so,especially when you consider that it's almost impossible and extremely expensive to get water anywhere in Enugu state outside the ninth mile area due to it's northward location. Can two million naira be enough to acquire land and establish a cashew plantation? No. As usual, this propaganda piece would be pushed to the frontpage because money have changed hands.

I might contact you later to help set something up for me in Anambra there, I just remembered that you're already in the state. My experience farming there is ugly which is why I want to move to the southwest. Farm labourers are scarce, unserious and heartless. The only way to farm successfully there is to leave your city job and move into the rural areas to do it by yourself which is not feasible for me since I want a gradual transition to the rural areas for retirement. It's also difficult to get up to 5 acres in that state for integrated farming plus the fact that flooding is disturbing farming communities there continuously since 2012 nonstop. Land disputes is another problem as every community there seems to be in court over land dispute. Anambra offers best prices for farm products but their trouble is too much. Very expensive land prices is another matter.

Funny, I recently started using borehole. I used to use streams with drip. One of my colleagues used to frown at me that screams arent good. Lol. Of course I have experienced terrible diseases cos of that style, but to me, the cost of pumping from underground like you said is high. Lol. And I weighed my risk analysis well, and using streams was what I chose. Lol. But this is why you must be able to sit back and restrategize.

You seem to have water challenge. So, downsize first. Change your seed varieties....and see if you can increase yield.

The amount of water you have determines how much you should expand. Water availability has limited me from growing horizontally many times too. But then, I grow vertically. So, it seems you must find a way to stake by force. Lol. This issue of water availability is a big challenge too for me. Someone here is reading, and she can testify that I have this challenge too cos we brainstormed together on telegram some days ago.

It's funny that Biafrans don't see IPOB as terrorists but non Biafrans are the ones crying over this issue that doesn't concern them. The terrorists we know today in Nigeria are the Fulani bandits yet Tinubu always defends them while his deputy is a well known Book Haram commander, Atiku is a Fulani who supports grabbing people's lands for Fulani through open grazing.
