NGpatriot: . ..
Yes, we are not there yet, but don't say we are not trying or on the right track because we are. It's high time we stopped this myopic reasoning. As we speak, Nigeria is still on the back foot or directionless. Rice importation is just a subset of our problems. We have problems that are supersets like the electricity issue. Nigerian graduates find it hard to go into RESEARCH because of absence of power, little business owners like babbers find it hard to cope. Before the border closure, there were Army on the roads searching vehicles for imported rice. Closing our borders because of a single commodity is like inflicting pains in some groups of Nigerians while dancing to the tune of the richest in Africa. As long as Nigeria economy is perpetually powered by generators, 'INDUSTRIALIZATION' the only solution to Nigeria's menace would remain a mirage. |

bellachibaby: According to Nigeria History and Facts on Twitter, electricity was introduced into Nigeria, on the 19th of September, 1898, which was only 17 years after it was introduced in England.
At the time of its introduction, the total generation was 60 Kilowatts (KW). The line was reported to have powered the Lagos Marina, from the Government House down to Apongbon.

Every company has it's own SECRET. In Nigeria, companies find it hard to progress. I know of two banks that are in distress at the moment, the insiders ( worker) are aware but they dare not let the cat out of the bag. Your bank was not progressing, they then recorded their LOSSES as GAINS in other for them to survive but u said NO. Your aim was to collapse the bank. If I were in your boss shoe I would have dismissed you since that 2016. Then you would have realised that this is NIGERIA! |

CastedAyo: Nigerians on Twitter have attacked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over its recent decision to increase charges on transactions.
Igbere TV had reported that the CBN, said customers making cash deposits or withdrawals will pay charges beginning from today in line with its new policy.
The objective of the “transaction fees” is to give vent to the Central Bank’s policy designed to reduce cash in use.
CBN Payments System Management Department Director Sam Okojere on Tuesday announced the take-off of the charges in a statement.
“The transactions will attract three per cent processing fees for withdrawals and two per cent processing fees for lodgments above N500, 000 for individual accounts.
“Corporate accounts will attract five per cent processing fees for withdrawals and three per cent processing fee for lodgments above N3 million.
Reacting to the development, Nigerians are asking for the reason they need to pay an extra 2% when they deposit over N500,000 or pay 3% when they withdraw same; after paying account maintenance charges monthly, ATM maintenance charge, stamp duty charges and transaction charges when they ransfer to other banks.
http://igberetvnews.com/1002127/nigerians-react-to-cbns-new-policy-on-cash-deposits/ THIS POLICY CONFLICTS WITH THE CASHLESS POLICY BECAUSE IT TENDS TO DISCOURAGE PEOPLE FROM CARRYING HUGE FUNDS TO THE BANKS FOR FEAR OF 5%. |
