So sad. RIP. |
This is nice, you will do well to put up the pictures. First time of seeing boat advertised on NL. |
Then leave the country and our resources. |
Qwerty is preffered. If a combination of both is available, better but Qwerty is always primus inter-pares (pardon my latin); first amongst equals cause of the more physical feel to the fingers. |
Thought this has been done by the NDLEA, anyway with a heroin worth N120Million seized from the pakistani drug courier (thank God they did not bungle this one) paying out Baba Suwe should not be an issue again. ![]() |
Do they serve dope in the UK cells, cos this is coming from a deluded/depraved person if he was not misquoted. |
pDude:I warned him. Mods should activate denials for some tribal bigots on NL. |
The law caught up with an officer of the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), on Wednesday night, when a police officer seized his cell phone for allegedly taking bribe from a bread seller. The drama took place on the premises of Motorway building on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Oregun, Ikeja, and threw the area into confusion as the two KAI officers, who had come to arrest street hawkers fled to save themselves from being mobbed. The police officer, Mr A. Abdulahi, who was attached to the building, said that he had seized the mobile phone because the KAI officers could not provide the receipt of the alleged money they took from one Mrs Josephine Mbanefo. According to him, the KAI officers had stormed the car park belonging to Motorway to arrest food vendors without seeking permission from the private security and the policemen attached to the area. As part of his effort to forestall the breakdown of law in the area, the police had intervened and had to seize the mobile phone pending when the KAI officers would produce receipt of the money collected from Mbanefo. Speaking, Mbanefo, who sells bread at the park, alleged that two KAI officers apprehended her while selling bread loaded in her car. She said that the officers drove her to the KAI unit, Alausa, where they collected N12,000 from her. She stated that the officers refused to give her receipt for the money she paid, but instructed her to write an undertaking not to sell in the place anymore. According to Mbanefo, the KAI officers also seized her car key, but released it after she had paid N1,000 as gate fee at the KAI office. However, another set of KAI officers, assisted by the state Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences, returned to the scene two hours later to collect the mobile phone, but they were resisted by securitymen who wanted them to provide the receipt of the N12,000. http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/36949-policeman-seizes-kai-officers-phone-for-taking-bribe |

alagbatomoye:let us keep tribalism out of this. Greed and lack of patriotism cuts across all the tribes in Nigeria. What i see here is the commendable act of the NDLEA to arrest this foreigner whom cartel I want to believe must have settled some people within the agency. If all the foreigners are made to go through the same screening as Nigerians, a lot of ampethamine, heroin etc imports will be discovered. because they only focus on departures, Nigeria continues to be a transit point for these international cartels. The arresting officers deserve commendation; to think the street value is conservatively put at N120million. Lord have mercy. |
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested a 35-year-old Pakistani with 13 kilogrammes of “high grade” heroin with an estimated street value of about N120m. The anti-drug agency said the suspect, Mr. Syed Ahmed-Bukhari, was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, shortly after arriving aboard a Qatar Airways flight from Doha. A statement by the Head, Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said Ahmed-Bukhari was found with parcels of brownish powdery substances that tested positive to heroin. The agency believed the arrest had aborted the entry of a perilous Pakistani drug cartel into the country. The statement quoted the Chief Executive Officer, NDLEA, Alhaji Ahmadu Giade, as stressing that the agency would make drug trafficking unprofitable through regular seizures. “Drug trafficking is attractive to criminal cartels because of the huge profit but we are determined to make it unprofitable through regular seizures, arrest and prosecution,” Giade said The NDLEA Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, said the suspect was carrying a Pakistani international passport with number BT3347071. Umar said, “A 35-year-old Pakistani was apprehended following the discovery of 13 kilogrammes of high grade heroin in his hand luggage. A Nigerian clearing and forwarding agent by name Okereke Chukwudi, 42, who is suspected to be an accomplice has also been arrested and investigation had commenced.” Ahmed-Bukhari, an electrical engineer, who hails from Karachi is believed to be working for a Pakistan-based drug cartel, according to the statement. He was found to have travelled from Karachi to Abu Dhabi aboard Pakistan Airline flight before taking Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Lagos. Ofoyeju said the suspected accomplice, Chukwudi, who hails from Ekulobia, Anambra State, was cooperating with narcotic investigators. NDLEA boss added that the arrest of the Pakistani few days after three Bolivians were caught in a suspected case of methamphetamine production was a demonstration of the agency’s resolve to bring drug traffickers to justice. Giade said, “The anti-drug crusade is total and must be pursued with determination. While working hard to prevent the involvement of our citizens in drug trafficking, the agency will resist attempt by foreigners to smuggle drugs into the country. “The NDLEA Act applies to all culprits. We shall yet be more vigilant and ensure that illicit drugs are intercepted in our country.” NDLEA said both suspects would be charged to court soon. http://www.punchng.com/metro/ndlea-arrests-pakistani-with-n120m-heroin/

Very good move indeed. They should look for more creative ways of enriching themselves. They are not law enforcement and so should go and face accident causing trailers with bad tyres and overloaded frames. |
Lepacious t:Go to page 2 of the thread to see a pix I believe was taken in his later days. |
texazzpete:I will call you LogicalPete , did i say you should use state funds to support anyone? Read again, for all i care you can support Yekini or Shofoluwe etc . Just say a good thing that Gringory has done or do you not know how many pensioners are dying by the day. What happened to their pension-MONEY saved on their behalf by the government and Gringory is one of these. |
tiarabubu:How much are you able to save as a honest civil servant in a country such as our? Face it, some persons are unable to even steal a pin just as some are able to steal/appropriate a whole stadium generator. We are not here to discuss his savings or being unable to save and live in affluence, we are here to pay tribute to a joy giver. If you watched the original 'New Masquarade', only the likes of halo, halo come close in terms of comic relief to viewers. |
Ogbonaikenna:RIP. Of the prominent acts on the cast, only Zebi and Zacheus are now remaining; so sad. NTA should have made their reunion happen before Jegede's demise. They remain the real actors and not the stereotypes we now have. Someone please tell me, is Natty, Ovularia and the second Apena (Xty Essien was the original-doubt if some people know) still alive? |

Nigerian state governor funded international playboy lifestyle with £50million fraud as he rose from humble roots working in London DIY storeJames Ibori bought a portfolio of luxury London homes and a fleet of armoured Range Rovers Fraudster may have stolen $250million from Nigerian coffers as he rose through the ranks He spent £15,000 in two-day stay at London's The lanesborough hotel He owned SEVEN properties in Britain Ibori, 49, siphoned off millions by inflating state contracts His rise from DIY store worker to international playboy with a £250million fortune is the stuff of dreams. A few years after quitting his £5,000-a-year job as a cashier for Wickes, James Ibori had become one of Nigeria's most influential and richest politicians. He wasted no time spending his new-found wealth on luxury homes, top-of-the-range cars, five-star travel and fees at exclusive boarding schools. Playboy lifestyle: James Ibori, 49, admitted a fraud totalling more than £50million. The former Nigerian state governor had a fleet of cars and six luxury properties in Britain But yesterday the 49-year-old stood shame-faced in the dock of London's Southwark Court as he admitted stealing tens of millions of pounds from the oil-rich state he governed in Nigeria. Scotland Yard detectives believe his fraud could exceed £250million. He was on trial in the UK because much of the stolen money was laundered through his London office. Ibori moved from Nigeria to West London in the late 1980s and was found guilty of stealing goods from the Wickes store he worked at in Ruislip in 1990. Not such upstanding citizens: Wealthy are more likely to lie, cheat and break the law, says study £100,000 of TAXPAYERS' money blown on empty NHS advice centre and we'll pay for it for a further EIGHT years unless a new tenant is found. A year later he was convicted of handling a stolen credit card. He moved back to Nigeria and worked for its president, Sani Abacha, as a policy consultant. Rising quickly through the ranks of the ruling People's Democratic Party, he was voted governor of Delta State in 1999, winning re-election four years later. In power, he systematically stole from the public purse, taking kickbacks and transferring state funds to his own bank accounts around the world. Luxury: Exclusive home that Ibori bought in Hampstead, north London, with £2.2million in cash in 2001 He was helped by family members, including his wife Theresa, sister Christine Ibori-Ibie, his mistress Udoamaka Oniugbo, and Mayfair lawyer Bhadresh Gohil. A massive police investigation into Ibori's activities revealed he had bought six properties in London, including a six-bedroom house with indoor pool in Hampstead for £2.2million and a flat opposite the nearby Abbey Road recording studios. There was also a property in Dorset, a £3.2million mansion in South Africa and further real estate in Nigeria. Extravagant: Ibori, 49, owned an apartment in this block on Abbey Road, London, opposite the famous music studios Fleet of cars: The former Nigerian state governor owned a number of cars including this Bentley Continental worth in the region of £150,000 He owned a fleet of armoured Range Rovers costing £600,000 and a £120,000 Bentley. On one of his trips to London he bought a Mercedes Maybach for more than £300,000 at a dealer on Park Lane and immediately shipped it to South Africa. He bought a private jet for £12million, spent £126,000 a month on his credit cards and ran up a £15,000 bill for a two-day stay at the Lanesborough hotel in London. Prosecutor Sasha Wass told the court Ibori concealed his UK criminal record, which would have excluded him from office in Nigeria. Extraordinary extravagance: James Ibori owned a fleet of armoured Range Rovers - including this one - bought with the proceeds of his £50million fraud Large home: James Ibori's home in Abuja, Nigeria. Today he was facing a jail sentence after admitting a £50million fraud 'He was never the legitimate governor and there was effectively a thief in government house,' Miss Wass said. 'As the pretender of that public office, he was able to plunder Delta State's wealth and hand out patronage.' The court heard Ibori abused his position to award contracts to his associates including his sister and his mistress. Scotland Yard began its investigation into Ibori after officers found two computer hard drives in his London office that revealed his criminality. Fraudsters: Solicitor Bhadresh Gohil and James Ibori's wife Theresa who have already been convicted of money laundering Guilty: Ibori's sister Christine Ibori-Idie and his mistress Udoamaka Okoronkwo who have both being found guilty of money laundering He was arrested by the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in December 2007, but two years later a court in his home town, Asaba, dismissed the charges saying there was not enough evidence. When the case was reopened by Nigerian authorities in April 2010, Ibori fled to Dubai where he was detained at the request of the Metropolitan Police and extradited to the UK last April. In a packed courtroom Ibori, dressed in a dark grey suit and black shirt, appeared in the dock to enter ten guilty pleas to fraud, money laundering and conspiracy on what was due to be the first day of a 12-week trial. His wife, his mistress and his sister were all jailed for five years each for money laundering offences following earlier trials. Last March, Gohil, 46, and described as Ibori's London-based lawyer, was jailed for seven years for his role in the scam. Attempts will be made to confiscate as much of Ibori's money and assets as possible so that they can be returned to Nigeria. The Met's Detective Inspector Paul Whatmore said: 'It is always rewarding for anyone working on a proceeds of corruption case to know that the stolen funds they identify will eventually be returned to some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world.' Ibori will be sentenced on April 16 and 17. I hated Maths; no hated the teachers, they were so uninteresting and that made the subject so. This affected my university (structures) as i found all calculations uninteresting and boring. |
Yes they do and irreparably so. |
Hole in story; We used to hear such thing, and I have also read it, but I have just seen it real now. I have also read as proven by some scientists that if a particular soil has some specified chemical components, there is the likelihood that the body will not decompose. He surely has wonderful nostrils to remember smell from 10years ago. |
