LEXYLOV: Retardeen is still on bed sleeping, maybe when he wake up he will announce the sacking or give fresh ultimatum. Lets wait the fresh air. No he is not sleeping. The Nigerian Government is strategising on how to deploy Nigerian SEAL team to eliminitate Sokoto where he is hiding just like the Americans did to eliminate Bin Laden. GEJ does not want to make mistake, that is why he is slow and most important; the biggest RETARDEEN of them all. Sonekan (ING) would not have been this slow in his time. |

Your list is filled with retired players who are currently holding coaching positions on the team. Current best eleven comprise the likes of Levi Ajonuma, Dezieni A. Madueke, Wale Tinubu, Otedola, Adenuga, Tinubu, Dangote, Folawiyo, Dantata, etc. If your list plays against the current team, they will be whitewashed. |

jake7703: He is very smart. I think his plan was N97, but he set the fuel price at N140 which is unaceptable. Now, he cut the price from N140 to N97 and how generous he is. The plan was to make people tired and feel the price is OK. I think the plan is successful. @Jake, born in the month of march; 1977-Thread title is your "If I were Mr. President" :your Advice To GEJ |

maxani: Dear Nigerians, Its been a week of passionate arguments and protests against the removal of fuel subsidy.
While many nigerians have strongly condemned this move by the government, especially coming on the first day of the new year without publicity, and plans to cushion the inflationary effect it will cause on the economy and the life of Nigerians, Others have supported the move and its promised effect in the long term.
This is your chance to bare you mind! what wold you advice the president of Nigeria( Goodluck Jonathan) to do? If you were the president, what would you do right now? I would advise that he steers the ship of the Nation as the captain and not take back seat, watch his crew guide the ship to an iceberg. like the titanic, Nigeria may be breakable (sinkable) afterall. |

Ok, the original report posted here did but include any such promises but was spot on as in verbatim GEJ's speech today. |

vanvicker: Pls where on earth did Nairaland get this report, cos according to President Goodluck Jonathan's broadcast this morning via Radio Nigeria He never mentioned anything contained in this your update,He only reversed d pump price of petrol to #97/litre and also implored workers to go back to their various offices to resume work.So nairaland give us d source of your news. what's the difference between what he read and that posted here. The speech is spot on. Kudos @poster. |

Gbawe: This wise and much-respected Nigerian echoes the commonsensical argument all decent, patriotic and pro-people Nigerians have offered. The contempt GEJ, his Government and fans are showing for the demand of the majority is incredible. Even if fuel price reverts to N65.00/L, the damage has been done and it is clear to Nigerians that this President is only here to dance around his corrupt friends rather than do what is best for ordinary Nigerians. I am personally glad another Nigerian icon has spoken against this subsidy removal madness that attempt to kill a fly with a nuclear bomb.

drogba: With the first day of protests over, I wonder what decision GEJ should take on this sensitive issue of subsidy removal.
I like being analytical and would love if the moderators can help put up a poll to enable us quantify whats really going on in the minds of Nairaland members on this delicate issue.
If you were GEJ, what will you do now?
1. Revert the price back to #65 and forget about subsidy removal. 2. Revert back to #65 for now and remove subsidy completely later in the year. 3. Reduce price to around #100. 4. Reduce price to around #100 for now and remove subsidy completely later in the year. 5. Maintain current position at #145
If there are any other options outside these 5, you are free to discuss. He should trim his cabinet, reduce retinue of aids, ban overseas medicals for all government officials, make Ngozi to accept a salary of the highest level in ministies, fix the roads, power etc and then remove the subsidy. |

hayoakins: What does Egbere takes us for, FOOLS? 25% cut of just BASIC salary, what about their outrageous allowances, the guy is just a motherfucking zoologist anyway he knows nothing about PAYROLL accounting, as a Financial analyst I don't give a F! abt him cutting just the basic, their allowances alone can power the Nation, to make matter worse, He said for year 2012 meaning the cut is only applicable to this accounting year(2012) while am expected to accept subsidy removal FOREVER, this guy is indeed a BIG joker, we will surely occupy Nigeria come Monday Truest talk. If Egbere think we will get swayed with his half hearted palliatives, then he's got something more to worry about. If he is truely the servant-leader, then he should listen to his bosses(Masses). |
