Hello Guru in the house. Curious about 2 issues: 1. I am accompany my wife and we would be applying together we had a US visit refusal in 2019 which we are going to declare. But I had a student visa refusal in 2008 ( 13 years ago) Not sure if there was biometrics at this time. My question is should I declare this, don’t even remember the reason for the refusal anymore.
2. Wife already gained unconditional admission and waiting for POF to clock 28 days to be issued CAS from institution, she submitted general IELTS when applying and the school didn’t complain. If it’s stated in her CAS as part of the document to submit for visa application won’t this be a problem? Because I am thinking For Visa they might strictly require IELTS Academics
Your valuable answers will be highly appreciated. |

Thanks a lot. JamiuKabir: No not an issue provided both banks are regulated by the government. I used POF as follows:
1. FBN (USD) 2. Foreign account (EU) in EUR 3. SCB (NGN)
use oanda for the conversion to GBP.

All the best. |

I plan to apply in UAE with a dubai and Nigerian bank account too, is this an issue? Because moving funds from my Nigerian account to Dubai will devalue the money. Please is this an issue?? chidarlus100: I stand to be corrected!
If you are currently and legally resident in Dubai.... I honestly don't see a reason why you can't apply for a student visa with a Dubai bank statement in your name. As for the TB....you won't be needing the test if you are going to apply from Dubai.
Please just upload documents that proves that you are legally resident in Dubai and you will be fine. |

Thanks for your response. This will really help. TheGuyFromHR: This is incorrect. You can add and withdraw from your bank account as you like as far as the balance does not fall below the amount you need to have in line with your own circumstances. So salary credits will help you. |

Hello Guru in the house. I have 2 questions please.
I stay outside Nigeria and I am applying for UK student Visa. Question 1. Can I present my present country of residence Bank statement and My Nigerian bank Statement as POF ( 2 different countries bank statements)
Question 2. My country of residence bank is my salary account and there is no way to block it for 28 days without salary credit. Please what can I do as UK requires that POF must be fixed for 28days without other transactions.
Please I strongly rely on your answers |

Please I have an important question and a bit worried right now. Got conditional approval for M.Sc admission and during my pre-CAS interview to get an unconditional offer I was asked if I had any visa refusal and I said yes. I was asked how many and I mentioned once but i was actually denied study permit to Canada twice and my spouse and I were denied visit visa to US. This is my question, in my visa application, should i maintain 1 Visa denial or I should declare all the 3 denials because i am afraid the information I gave during my pre-CAS interview might have been recorded in my CAS letter and it might mention just only 1 denial.
Please guru in the house advice!!! |

Justmellow always on point. I will take to this advise 100%. THANKS BRO. JustMellow: In most cases, the VO and career progression are like 5 but this doesn't mean numerous past applicants haven't been successful, as what is deemed necessary is the ability to be convincing on why that particular program especially if its not a progression of your previously passed which I think you've not quite be able to satisfy the VO convincingly in that aspect.
To your questions:
1. A PGD would be the very best idea right now, given that you've failed to convince the VO of why a Diploma twice and the tediousness in securing a Masters(as declared by you).
2. No!
3. Changing course doesn't warranty a red flag, globalization has dominated the perception of today's world which has made career change a world wide acceptable feat. If you have the resources, don't quit if its your dream.
Also note this, losers are the next winners. Do endeavour to request for your gcms notes before reapplying, and clear your thoughts from the haste of reapplication and desperation - its a chronic disease numerous applicants suffers.
Good luck! |

Thanks a lot I really appreciate your response TheAfrikan: IT IS NOT A POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA BUT A COLLEGE DIPLOMA.
My opinion is that as far you can write a convincing Letter explaining the change and satisfy the Visa Officer, you're gold.
I'd advice you hang around for insight from other gentlemen on the platform. |

Thanks for the response, you mean your diploma was not post graduate diploma?? and also changing to economics for me wont be a bad idea with strong SOP right? TheAfrikan: Goodevening Holmes,
I have a strong second class upper in a professional degree and although I qualify for most masters programmes in my industry, I opted for a college diploma in a different field but same industry. I have collected my passport with my visa stamped with a study-work permit.
My advice is to work on your Letter of Explanation thoroughly pointing out your reasons for the change and whatnot.
Hope this helps and encourages you.
Cheer up..... |

Hello Gurus in the house. Please I need your candid advice. My study permit was refused last week. This is the second refusal. I realized useful info on this platform after I have applied. I had B.Sc. Economics 2.2. In my first application I applied diploma in business in Saskatchewan poly. It was refused based on Purpose of visit and travel experience. For the second (recent ) application I applied for diploma in fashion techniques and design in George Brown College. Reason for denial was purpose of visit. V. O said he didn't see prospect of the course in my country of residence after study.
From What I realized on this platform, Progression and consistent in study are very important probably I would have gone for Post graduate diploma in economics. My question is 1. Should I apply for Post graduate diploma in economics since I can't get a master degree with my 2.2? 2. Changing courses for the 3rd time, wont this seem desperate and a red flag? 3. Should I forget applying for study permit in Canada as I have changed my course 2 times and this might already set a red flag to future applications irrespective of my eligibility and how good I Package my application?
Please I strongly rely on your responses as most info on this platform are helpful and genuine. |

Thanks, I got the point. JustMellow: 1. Yes, the panel physician would indicate it in their notes. Please don't conceal the pregnancy.
2.No, it would not. Its not your fault, at least that's part of the most expected in marriage if not life, just do the needful of been able to cater for yourself and the foetus like when the baby comes, financially without bothering the govt. You will be needing a nanny/daycare too.
3. Certainly not. Just make sure you've made provisions for the unborn baby and general healthcare requirements for two. This would able you be prepared just "in case" you is been asked about your pre-steps for your unborn baby. |

Thanks IFY I get you clearly. Appreciate your kind response. ify85: Sorry I omitted one of your questions. They will know during your medical. In case your stomach doesn't show you're pregnant please ensure you tell them during your medical because they will know. Remember they will screen your blood and urine and you will be exposed to x-ray. If you don't tell them you're pregnant they will not use protective shield on you and that will affect the foetus. And if they discover you lied they might report your case to the embassy. As for fund you don't need additional fund now because u haven't given birth. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Gunit87: 9:21pm On Apr 08, 2019 |
Thanks Ify so do you mean I need the send to them now as decision is ongoing on my study permit? I mean how will they know now, since I have summited my application and its ongoing. And will it mean I have to present another statement of account since a baby will be involved which means additional fund. Appreciate your response. ify85:
It depends on the stage of pregnancy. Please let them know the exact stage eg first trimester, 2nd or 3rd and you will be advised appropriately. It doesn't affect the decision of your TRV. I was 8 months gone when I did my medical and my study permit was approved. |

Thanks. (to the bolded) I thought the initial UCI would come automatic on the new application too but surprisingly a new UCI appeared on the new application despite the fact that it was on the same myCIC account.
leaving it blank for a reapplication after a previous application won't necessitate to any harm. it will be automatically be inputted if blank. But if you haven't submitted, just for time saving, input the UCI number in your previous delayed application.
To the bolded, I have never heard of that, as I only know that one's UCI number stays constant(I stand to be corrected on this)
You go dey alright last last!
|

Thanks I feel at ease now. chibertha: Don't fear I believe it wont affect your application because I have done that before without knowing what the number was as I had been given one when i was issued a visitors visa so when I did the last study visa that was refused I didn't write it, in fact, I got to know what it was 1 week to my submitting this current application. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Gunit87: 12:25am On Apr 05, 2019 |
I don't think so too Bracha: @Gunit87 I don't think it'd have any negative effect(s). I did this too; I didn't know what a UCI was, so in all 3 applications I didn't write any. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Gunit87: 12:24am On Apr 05, 2019 |
its very helpful, with this I don't need to panic that this will have any negative effect on my application. Thanks a lot. 95seun: Your UCI is your unique client identification number, it is an identifier so it shouldn’t affect your application, however it might result in the biometric information from your previous application not being recognized / applied to the new application.
If you’ve linked your application online, you would be able to see your current application, as well as all your previous applications but importantly you would be able to see if the biometric information you submitted has been applied to the new application.
I see you brought the issue of redoing Biometric up in a previous post, there’s a tool on the CIC website that you can use to verify the validity of your biometric information.
From experience, the VAC in Lagos can be wishy washy. I remember I was billed for the biometric fees when I reapplied through them, even though I didn’t do biometrics and my biometric information was still valid. I did the first biometric test 13 July 2018, paid again October 16, 2018.
Hope this helps |

Please did you write the same UCI number on all applications?? because in my last application I left it blank, I didn't write the one on the initial refusal. makano: Yes its normal.. My previous refused application was like this too(dt was in 2017) and i had to do another biometrics when i applied July last year.. So its normal, go do ur biometrics and this will be the last for the next 10 years. Peace |
