One thing I noticed about this attack by herdsmen is that they don't or hardly attack Muslim dominated states because those areas are already under the influence of the caliphate.
In the North, the target is always Benue, Platue Taraba and Southern Kaduna. These are Christian dominated states/territory.

In South West, herdsmen mainly focus on Iwo ede oke Ogun
Akure ife ijesha Ondo and Ekiti and other Yoruba Christian areas.
