Congratulations!!!! Go and flourish! Can I send you dm to get your SOP? AyaE: Hello Guys, my grant just came in today!!!! Thanks to everyone who has contributed on this thread one way or the other on this thread. It has helped immensely. My time line: Submitted application-31st July 2019 Conditional offer- 15th July 2019 CoE- 24th November 2019 Biometrics- 27th December 2019 Submitted Visa Application- 25th January 2020 IELTS Score- 7.0 (I had a minimum band score of 7.0 so my average was 7.0). I got a waiver from the school so I didn't need IELTS for school admission. My agent advised I write one for visa so I did. School- Flinders University Sponsor's account: My maternal uncle. Submitted 2 bank statements. One had 18m and the other was a fixed deposit account that matures every 30days. It had 13m. Course- Social work (masters) BSc- Microbiology
Submitted my credentials, letter from sponsor, proof of relationship to sponsor (uncle & Mum's NPC) and sponsor's account statement. I didn't submit payslips or my account statement sha. Challenges faced: I already had an MSc in Microbiology so applying for a second masters was what I had to prove. Plus, with Social Work being a high risk course I had to write a convincing SOP. (I can share that with anyone interested cos mehn this took me like a month to write). My work experience was also a bonus cos I work as a care assistant. Sometime in December the bank statement I used for the school admission could no longer be used cos he had to move the funds to another bank for investment reasons. He had to submit another letter to this effect. He also had to back it up with the fixed deposit account. School resumes on Monday so if anyone could help with flight and accommodation links, I'd be most grateful.
Thank God!!!!!!! |

Bro, it's being long time. Are you planning to resume in FALL 2023? Moshkom: Here are some of the visa decision-making factors that consulates consider:
1. The purpose of the visit: The consulate will evaluate the applicant's intent and the purpose of their visit to the country. The applicant must be able to prove that their visit is for a legitimate reason, such as tourism, business, or study.
2. Ties to the home country: The consulate will evaluate the applicant's ties to their home country, such as family, job, or property. This helps determine if the applicant is likely to return home after their visit or if they may overstay their visa.
3. Financial stability: Consulates will evaluate if the applicant has sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay in the country. This helps determine if the applicant is likely to become a burden on the host country's resources or if they have enough funds to support themselves throughout their stay.
4. Consistency of information: The consulate will evaluate the consistency of the information provided by the applicant during the interview and the documents submitted. Any discrepancies or inconsistencies may raise concerns and lead to a visa denial.
5. Security concerns: Consulates will evaluate if the applicant poses any security risks to the host country. This may involve background checks or other security measures.
Based on these factors, the consulate will make a decision whether to approve or deny the visa application. While the decision is made quickly, the consulate takes all of these factors into consideration to ensure that the applicant meets the requirements for the visa.

Na one by one we will all face reality. We have a system that is designed to be failed from the start. The situation of Nigeria is irredeemable. Millions of Nigerians will realize this by 2031. There is no sector in Nigeria that had not been smeared with corruption. Total overhauling/restructuring/disintegration without those options, we are deceiving ourselves Ckonnet: Stupid set of people, this country needs total overhauling. |

You are right bro. A family friend just got a Canadian visa with 700k naira in his account( full scholarship). Meanwhile, I have seen a case where someone has 40m naira in his account and yet was refused. People getting the visas are not doing anything exceptional honestly. It's just the grace indeed. Najdorf: People always try to overanalyze transcripts. My own opinion is that these VOs simply have a quota of rejected applicants to meet and they sometimes select them at random. You'll see some people, no funding, no home ties and their given their visa. You'll see others that have used everything complete yet get rejected.
It's all just grace |

What was wrong here now? For me, everything looks great. I wish you all the best during the next application. Advice I will give you is that you should look for some funding and remove your brother as one of the sponsors. Thanks for your time bro. I pray that God grant you your heart desires including that PR in earnest. Smile4mee01: Your wife may be in a better position to study since she is younger and that will earn her more points. But alot of things come into getting PR here. Where you study ? what course you study ? is the course in demand or in the SOL ( Skilled occupation list ) ? Your Phd is also good as it earns you lots of points but if you will be close to 45 around when they are considering your application, its may not work.
I would not recommend you and your wife studying simultaneously because its expensive, who takes care of the kids. of would you pay child care cost ?
USA too is very good. infact some people migrate from here to USA. USA remains the hub of economics opportunities . Also the immigration there may not be straight forward.
Personally, i encourge anyone to go where they can thrive. once you enter. You will get to know things as you go by. For example I have met Master holders who could not get PR with thier Msc, but later got PR by studying carpentry, or being a chef. Its only when you are on ground that you can see or hear these things. |
