Whilst 'any man from any nationality can be scary', that statement does nothing to negate AA men being scary and aggressive as they are. I'd put Egyptian men in that same category. You can question my state of mind all day if you like, but that's my opinion.

Isn't that stereotyping AA men? Truth be told they can be very aggressive, but one might argue those ones are products of their environment. Egyptian men and Arabs as a whole are very aggressive, can we blame their environment or its the culture?

GuyFawkes on NL had nothing to do with my ideological leaningsn, just wanted it to symbolise my anonymity on here, don't think I'm still as anonymous as I intended.

Russell is your guy you need to know his movement lol tongue. Its not a crime to be a millionaire but you shouldn't be amongst anti-capitalist protesters.

Yh. That's partly why he ran as a Libertarian - and I would have voted for him were I allowed (not that it would've mattered lol) - but that's wishful thinking IMO. No doubt, American politics is in need of a serious re-boot!

I would have voted Ron Paul too, the old man was very popular amongst young americans disenchanted with the Washington establishment. The mainstream media (controlled by the corporations no doubt) didn't even give him any meaningful coverage in 2012.

I guess he was too radical for Wall street, he planned to close all foreign military bases, re-introduce the gold standard and kick some butts at the federal reserve. Stood no chance in hell honestly

thanks for ur mature reply. But believe me ,kwara is for pdp. The only state out of the 3 which I mentioned that is maybe 60% sure for apc is oyo state ,and that is due to the fact that ladoja is keen on contesting and if he contests that will mean 3 big parties with equal porpularity will be going to the polls, that is why pdp and gej are trying to woo ladoja back to pdp with the governorship ticket so that both accoord and pdp will merge,if this doesn't happen then ajimobi has a chance. In the case of ogun, you have to realize that the greatest problem any party can have is if your members turn against you. The apc faction that just left now are not keen on winning but they are the ones who will do everything to make sure that amosun loses. The in fighting in apc is what will cause its downfall in ogun state. Tinubu knows this and this necessitated his visit to obj so that obj can instruct his boys in ogun pdp to decamp to apc and neutralize the negative effect of osoba defection on the party.that is the only thing that can save amosun ,forget the issue of amosun popularity how many of those shouting and hailing amosun has voters cards ?

To be realistic Kwara is signed, sealed and delivered for APC, Oyo is 50/50 due to the Ladoja factor and no governor has ever used 2 terms, Ogun will still vote APC I think the Osoba faction is frustrated they can't control Amosun.

The newly elected Governor here is Rauner. The guy is a billionaire and everybody knows he's so far right with the tea party group . He spent over 30 million dollars of his own money and he overwhelmed the governor. You can't watch TV, or Radio or drive without his billboards. And Illinois is just like California, it's a blue state.

ALL the newspapers in Illinois endorsed the billionaire Republican Brice Rauner as a good businessman, when 12 of his companies declared bankruptcy, and several of his executives in Texas have been convicted of wrongful death suits for his nursing homes undecided

I'd suggest a constitutional amendment setting forth term limits for members of Congress. The max number of terms for Senators should be 3.
Members of the House should be given 4-year terms, instead of the present 2-year terms. This would ensure that Reps don't spend half of their term on fund-raising activities. However, I'd limit the Reps to 4 terms.

18 years in the Senate, and 16 yrs in the House is enough for any lawmaker to make his/her mark on Capitol Hill.

All you needed to see how gullible some american electorates were was when thirty year senate veteran Mitch McConnell gave his acceptance speech and promised to bring "real change to Washington". And then the crowd cheered. grin grin grin cheesy cheesy cheesy
Ermm the American constitution is written in stone, hell will freeze over before its amended again.

Today is the "official" start of the 2016 presidential election campaign. On twitter, someone has flown the Clinton/Sen Warren kite. It's being tagged as the "dream ticket".
But I have a better idea: how about a Clinton/Michelle Obama ticket?

I'd pick Elizabeth Warren over Hillary Clinton, she's a war hawk abeg. She threw Obama under the bus in her book -well every Demoocrat is doing that. She must take responsibility as well for Libya and the mismanagement of the Arab spring. Republicans might as well fly the Palin/Bachmann ticket grin

You are right. Have alway said what's being practiced in Nigeria is Kleptocracy not Democracy.

Don't even mention Nigeria and Democracy in the same statement. Its more of an plutocracy/oligarchy.
America's democracy will be destroyed by Citizens United. The electorate will no longer count in due course.

Lol. That's why I like American politics, in spite of its imperfections. Imagine an incumbent governor, whose party also controls Aso Rock, being outspent by the opposition candidate? That's impossible grin

American politics stinks to be honest its taken a nasty turn for the worst with all the political gridlocks, its now a blue state Vs red state trench warfare.
What are the percentages of the the elections; whats the percentage of the people who voted; Americans are now dealing with an election cycle where corporations now have political and religious rights and have basically bought elections across the country. The same american electorate that thinks ebola comes from being in the same state as someone with ebola. The same electorate that, even in light of all the shootings in schools and communities, votes to allow guns to be carried in bars. God bless America cool

The conversational wisdom in DC is right leaning. If you want any deals done u have to play along. They have also hijacked the military and intelligence apparatus since the Bush years. Obama was too overt in acknowledging this, and that is why his party wont touch him with a ten foot pole

Can't blame him TBH, he campaigned on bringing CHANGE to DC, he said he was for the 99% bla bla bla, but he got the memo as soon as he got into the White house. Americans know the MIC has got the govt by the balls, but Obama had no chance in hell of changing it so why the deception to start with? He's being angering his partys base since he got into office anyway. He's actually right leaning in the Democratic party.

You are right. I did vote earlier and was surprised that the lady told me when I came that they are projecting less than 30 percent in my precinct. We have to be hopeful. Have gone through the craziness of Reagan and Budh junior. America will rise up again. It's just disappointing. Am about the only Democrat in my office and I will sure get a lot of ribbing in the office morrow.

Too bad but I saw it coming earlier this year during the local primaries, the Republicans made effective use of gerrymandering to corner districts and changed voting laws. Well they aren't a lot of real Democrats out there these days. Chin up and tell your colleagues you'll come storming back in 2016.

What I can't figure out is what congressional Democrats will do. Will they borrow from the Republicans' script and filibuster every piece of legislation?

Democrats have shown how stupid they can be. But honestly, wining the Senate wont change much.

K street gets what K street wants. It is just symbolical. Local elections are more important as since the status quo remained the same in my district. to hell with Obomber.

Yes K street still reign supreme in my opinion
Mr. Obama has always been Republican lite. From the beginning, he put Wall Street and banking types in charge of the economy. The banks were bailed out, but the overwhelming majority of defrauded homeowners got nothing. He presided over a massive expansion of government spying on all Americans, put through a health insurance package that richly rewards the insurance companies, failed to close Guantanamo, etc.

Mr. Obama sold out his base over and over. He was even willing to put Social Security cuts on the table. Obama apologists keep saying that he faced unrelenting opposition, but he had a Democratic Congress during his first two years. He could have fired up the base and put through progressive policies IF he had believed in them. And, to be fair, most of the Democrats in Congress are Republican lite.
