npowerng: Our state partners will do the process, They will conduct the process of assigning you to each of your various PPAs and once that is completed, they will then inform you wherein you should come and pick your deployment letters again. npowerng, you are just setting the stage for your volunteers to be exploited and frustrated by certain people at state and LG levels. Your so called state partners will rubbish all your efforts and smear slime on your name. Your volunteers will come back at you swearing and cursing while your state partners recline in offices at LG Secretariats extorting from them for deployment. Mark my words. Reduce the expected damage by publishing names online for all to see and know who has been selected and who is yet to be selected. Next, make a downloadable engagement letter available online so successful volunteers can print directly from their profile and personally sign as a token of acceptance of the 2 years service and all conditions. After signing, they can approach the "State Partners" who will already have the NPower list with him/her for deployment or redeployment. The waiting has been very long and worn down these young people so much emotionally, psychologically and financially. Do everything to help them keep their sanity, please. In addition, make arrangements for redeployment. You are dealing with people so expect certain pressures from your volunteers and wear a human face in responding. There will be genuine requests for redeployment due to marriages, cost of transportation, security and health. I beg of you, please. |

The most hated governor in the history of Benue state.. Bro, relax. I see all the uninformed backlash you are getting from all these hate filled people who cannot name even one town in Benue State. Be calm. Do not let their insults reach your heart. They are swooned by Ortom's charade during the slaughter of Benue people. To them, Benue's only problem is herdsmen attacks; at least, Ortom made them think so. If he is their hero, let them adopt him in their state and make him their governor. Remember how Fayose won election on Nairaland and lost at Ekiti? He was their hero too! |

Cancer of the mouth for speaking tall on the Fulani's crisis in the country. Fayose remain a man in people's heart irrespective of the outcome of this election. Only a brave man can stand tall in the mist of devourers. Ekiti will pay back Fayemi's N5000 offers. The state was in debt because of Fayemi's first term, the same man force himself back. I just pity the state So if PDP had won they won't have made Ekiti to pay back, abi? Andy2274: . Majority of the politicians ruling Nigeria since 1999 has been there before you were born and here you are wishing them to stay for the next 20 years. An election where money that was supposed to be used for the development of this country is used to buy the masses. Both parties are using the money that was supposed to be used to develop the country, build schools and health centres. The cheapest thing you can get in the poorest country in Africa is Education, food and health care but in Nigeria that most expensive thing you can get in Nigeria are those 3 things. People are massacred every minute and a sitting president cannot order 2,000 policemen but 30,000 policemen were deployed to one state because of election and you are here happy. Fayose suddenly asked graduates to submit credentials for employment and Fayemi asked Okada to fuel their bike for free because of election. You didn't sit down to think and ask where are they getting the money they are spending? How much was Fayose's salary for 8 years? How much did Fayemi earn for 2 years + as a minister that they are spending anyhow if not the money that is supposed to be used to better the life of the citizens. If you calculate the money wasted by these thieves on this election you will be surprised that it's up to 20% of 2018 budget and you are clapping for them. Same wastage when Fayose removed Fayemi from position some time ago. Buhari has signed the not too young to run bill, how many youths are coming out now but instead they are comfortable licking the ass of their old grandfather politicians. These men are eating the future of this generation. They are killing the vision of this generation but ignorance has made many to lose sight of their evil deeds. Instead of letting them know, people like you are singing their praises. Country where majority cannot feed because of no job, a country where companies are folding up because of bad economy, a country where people die more than flies and ants, a country rated as one of the poorest in the world, a country where health workers and teachers are always on strike because of non payment for salary, a country where even with bail out fund the governors are still owning salaries, suicide every day because of hardship and a country where during election of a state, all the governors left their states to support their party. Sharing looted funds and money for the development of the state and a young citizen that tomorrow he/she will go to church or mosque to pray is supporting them. Think of what will happen to this country if these APC/PDP continue to loot this country and spend the country's money on buying votes for the next 20 years. Your post is so long, yet nothing made sense in it. All political parties fielded candidates in an election and the people voted one, what else do you want? For a cancellation because of financial inducements? If the Not-Young-to-Run bill has been signed I think it is an opportunity for people who do not lick old arses such as you to step up and declare instead of pointing other people to it on Nairaland. Have you declared for any elective post in your village? |

People like Oby Ezekwesili are selfless patriots, not to be confused for hungry and partisan parrots like yourself. Epic reply! Too many parrots like Omokri in Nigeria. They hurl insults on Nigeria out of hate for a single Buhari who could be voted out. If Ezekwesili expressed her right to vote by voting Buhari does that take away her right to point out Buhari's failings? I asked about Benue and Taraba for you to see how toothless the governors are and you are here talking cooperation when people are dying like flies. The CP themselves are mere puppets in this game of security. They are as powerless as the governors, and as incompetent too. The federal are trying everything to keep the state police on their apron strings, step out one bit and get transferred to an obscure office or retired, no allowance for free thinking.
If its easy, Ortom and his Taraba counterpart can as well arm thugs to defend his people, only that same police will shoot them with SARS and say they are the troublemakers.

BankeSmalls: Are you saying the continued bloodbath in the middle belt is because the state governors refused to cooperate with the CP in their states?
Secondly, do you think the police can save the lives of Benue and Taraba people if the governors "bow down and worship" their CPs? No, you got me wrong, using the word "worship" is out of place. I was referring to a mutual and cordial relationship. Their goals are the same. The governor should yearn for peace for his people, whilst the CP aspire for peace within his jurisdiction. How can they both achieve this single but huge task if communication and professional respect does not flow between them? How can they both achieve this if there is suspicion or paranoia? I was hinting on cooperation between them rather than quarrel. The CPs are semi-independent from Abuja. Each governor has a direct telephone access to his CP for intelligence sharing and security chit chat. Let them use it. |
Politics › Re: Abdulaziz Yari: Governors Toothless To Secure Their States by Haddock(m): 3:37pm On Apr 28, 2018 |
BankeSmalls: Use Benue and Taraba states to explain your points? It all boils down to rapport with State Police bosses. Most governors talk too much. They run to press, cry on social media, complain and blame. If you ask them they'd claim "I am doing my best to contain the situation" or "we are going to investigate the matter". In truth, they're only saying all these to "seem" serious without any tangible communication with the Police. They would not take steps to establish any working and respectful relationship with their State Police bosses. Some even imagine the State CP is theirs to Lord over instead of forming a partnership! State CPs do not call Abuja for every action, they are authorized to act and report later, taking responsibility for their actions. Yes, the governor cannot "control" his state's CP but they can "brainstorm" together and achieve peace together. At this level, they share intelligence, resources and success. Because of bossy attitudes and lack of rapport, CPs and governors are known to be at loggerheads and mutual distrust, Benue and Taraba as cases. |
