dearpreye: Thanks my boss. I couldn't implicitly tell what it is that has led to this lack of care and sympathy towards others during their trying periods. Somehow we have become so cold and hard towards those who are in difficult situations. It's a parental problem. Most parents don't show their children love, aren't emphathic, are always judgmental and this reflects on the kids when they grow and have to face life on their own. |

Nice one op. Nigerians an be quite mean. I don't know if it is poverty or lack of love during childhood that has completely eroded our sense of empathy. Anyone who needs motivation or positivity should contact me. I am so motivated and positive that I can start bottling and selling it. But I'm giving it out for free |

donnffd: MYTH: Atheists are arrogant FACT: Well that i cant help, it has to do with personality and sometimes your perception of things...i can say with sufficient confidence, i am very accommodating of personal beliefs and stuff This point is a simple case of misunderstanding. If I am in the midst of Christians, for instance, and they start praying, what am I supposed to do? Whether I choose to excuse myself or not involve myself entirely, Christians will still pick offense instead of respecting my own decision not to "serve" their god. I don't believe in it and I won't pretend to just as I won't try to convince you to disbelief. They expect you to join them in their beliefs whether you believe it or not and THAT is a show of arrogance. |

Viktor1983: Different strokes for different folks.... Some people believe in their pastors promise of a fruitful year and harvest . I believe in GDP growth rate, A fall or increase in oil prices... Right from January ,I knew 2015 was gon be a tough year. Believing in the GDP requires understanding while believing in your pastor requires "faith". I don't need a revelation to know this country if fvcked |

Ben Bruce is right. It would make more sense for FG to make a deal with local refineries, offer them loans and have them refine the crude and sell the finished products to Nigerians and other African countries. This is becoming more clueless than Mr Clueless himself |

johnydon22: There are far more Agnostics, atheists, deists or generally people who find the Islamic faith to be absurd in the Muslim world than we know..
But most of these people are afraid because of the huge threat the society they are in poses if they acknowledge such in the open.
They might be mauled, beaten, killed and put through many inhumane treatments just because of it so many choose to remain in the closet and pretend.

Science/Technology › Re: Why Is It That Africans Are Not Scientific Inclined? by hahn(m): 8:03pm On Nov 24, 2015 |
HCpaul: The major hinderance or limitations that Nigerians have towards technology ain't be used as an excuse to the barrier presented by the economic bug of our politics.
Although, technological advancement has shifted from individuality to team work. Meaning that todays inventions are accomplished by team effort. But nevertheless, the required motive we lack as a country is the mindset of inventions and enterpreneurship. We brude upon knowledge but yet not an advocate of it. We underestimate the theoritical foundations and concepts of technology which will actually give rise to the development of prototype. We have many scientist in the country but lack an inventor. A country need a scientist, technology artifacts and inventors to be regarded as a technological oriented nation. We lack industries, companies, pioneers, and revolution power.
Look at Japan, Korea, Germany and Iraq for example. Those countries was not better than Nigerians in terms of literacy and civilization, but are ready to develop their first institution in the inventions. They was once almost wiped out, but they still took their stand to grow. Today, the destiny of robots development is in the hand of the Japanese.
What we actually need is an individual personality ignited with the mindset of inventions. It takes a group of inventors to develop an IT institution and industry.
Also, our institution has to be a research institution, and one must count invention as a serious business.
Let us go and learn about invention. Currently, am someone that possess the innovative mindset of invention, but i lack the materialistic resources to execute them. Am a multi-philantropist, who adopt all the precepts organized by the dear friend called knowledge.
Just pray for me. Was your account hacked? |

Viktor1983: Religion in recent times has created more chaos than its main objectives of being a form of social control, creating a moral community etc. Agnosticism / atheism seems better. The problem with atheism is that it doesn't offer miracles, paradise after death and doesn't threaten people with death for their sins. I guess this makes it unattractive to most people who need something to believe in. I do not really blame pastorpreneurs who fleece gullible followers. |

TheAgba: I got a puzzle recently and it got me to ask more questions about a supernatural conscience.
1. If God is all knowing does that mean he is also all experiencing ? 2. If he is also all experiencing doesn't that show the he is guilty of what he convicts sinners of ? Like knowing what ( as in experience ) what it means to feel lust, to have intercourse, even being gay and the rest. 3. What is the essence of being in check or doing something that is right or wrong when the one who creates you knows your possible beginning and ending. Predestination? Do we really own ourselves ?
