Yes, there are few cases as you described above.
Those should not be the yardstick with which view cases of rape.

As per the case here, you don't understand the psychology of teenage victims in the hands power.

You have to agree that teenage girls are the most vulnerable group in our semi-primitive society, where they laws are not strong enough to offer them protection.

I can surely seea hopeless young teenage victim being victimized over and over again, till she sort of accepts her fate in the hands of powerful predators.
Makes sense.

Whether she went back or not, the guy's were taking advantage of her gullibility and naivette. Hopefully this story will spark some sense into the minds of teenagers reading this.

I agree with you but the case has many angles especially in a society like ours that always seems to be more sympathetic to rape offenders than the victims.

It's a real pity

Exactly, most rape victims are scared of having sex, but in these case, it was party and beating but still went back claiming love, so what point did she realized it was rape, when they stopped? I just don't get it

This country will only get better when people start minding their own business. The hajia, the op and the dumbo that took the picture are all full of sh*t because I can bet that, like most humans, they are not perfect either.

Man always seems to feel that other people's sins are worse than the ones they commit.

Most likely.

You see, what is rape to a victim is usually just play to the perp.
A family member once claimed a guy raped her simply because she liked him but he didn't reciprocate. The guy was beaten up and the relationship between both families became sour. She confessed 2 years later undecided

Who is the victim here?

In this story, she got "raped" the first time but kept on going back. How many rape victims do that?

This is one of the reasons why Nigerians, who can afford to, travel overseas when they have a headache. And also the reason why everyone is busy seeking miracles from "god" simply because we have been unable to provide quality health care service for ourselves undecided

We knock on your doors on weekends handing out atheist tracts. We represent you in government, all our politicians are atheists. We tell you to be gay or die. We toss tyres on the necks of petty thieves and garlands on the necks of government crooks.

you are 100 percent correct. however the thing with this igbo agitation that is getting on everyones nerves is that they do not recognize that we all are getting fvcked in the ass ( as you so delicately put it ). they dont seem to understand that its the powers on top vs all the citizens. these igbo agitation has directed their anger at all yoruba and hausa citizens. you hear them all the time yabbing hausa and yoruba. like we are not all in the same boat ? thats what personally pisses me off, that someone can be so dumb and myopic not to see that it is a leadership vs citizenry problem is what pisses me off. i refuse to believe someone can be that myopic and dumb. so they fight even the lower class hausas and yorubas as part of the problem, when these people are in the same boast as you. these people are suffering just like you. thats the short-sightedness and myopia and dumbness of the whole agitation that pisses me off personally

Thanks Bro
It's all good. I totally understand where plaetton is coming from though. But this is Nigeria where the problem of the Mbaise man is of no concern to the man from Oguta or the problems of the Ondo man doesn't concern the Ijebu man.

We should demand for change because the Ibos are not the only ones getting fvcked in the ass. No single Nigerian is a virgin thanks to our government undecided

This the problem.
See how you have stereotyped Igbos, while ignoring the issues.
My friend, if you are waiting for Nigerian intellectuals to lead you on any social crusade, you might have to wait till Jesus comes.

A tout can lead a revolution.

I am disappointed that you choose to diminish their agitation with tribal stereotype.
Too bad. kiss
I agree with sukkot on this and I believe he is referring to only a mojority of the supporters and not all Ibos. I stand to be corrected though.

I have tried to make it clear that I am not into kanuism.

I am interested in the broader picture of raising our collective consciousness to the structural anomaly of the Nigerian federal system , that guarantees that every single Nigerian, not just Igbos, are cheated every single day.

This is the spark that I think this movement should provide.
It should doesn't mean it will. We're talking about Nigerians living in Nigeria here o and no one sees "the broader picture" undecided

I do not, and will not in any way support his tribalistic vituperations.
That makes him a fringe radical, rather than reasonable agitator.

Nevertheless, the fight he fights is still a fight for every single Nigerian alive and yet to be born.

That's my opinion,.. Of course I might be wrong.

Lol.
I say it all the time that nearly all Nigerians live and behave like animals in a jungle.
And I really mean it.
I can't argue with you over that. We do exactly that and the Ibos have never behaved differently. We are all animals living in a zoo.

You said

His movement should not threaten us, nor invite scorn, but rather sober reflections on the fraudulent, dead-on-arrival federal system that we operate that puts too much power at the center.
I guess you mean the whole of Nigerian by the bolded words. You can't insult a faction of the "we" and "us" and expect sympathy or support for your cause. undecided

very wrong . I learnt about the civil war in sec schl though I read books and was told stories about the war .
We were all taught the basics in school but did you learn about the underlying politics behind it and the eventual murder and discrimination against Ibos in the west and north? I only read about that after I left school.

Biafra is Nigeria's "problem" that's why Nnamdi Kalu was arrested

Few times.
But I am not interested in his personality or his antics.

Radicals always do, always have to say provocative things for their shock value.

I am more interested in the movement in terms of it's ability to raise enough dust and galvanize public consciousness on the fact that we, every single Nigerian, are being cheated, fxxxed in the asss, everyday by means of a fraudulently contrived federal system.

This is where my own interests lies, not on Nnamdi Kanu.

All revolutionary movements have to start out as radical and rascally.
This should be no exception.
Nigerians are not ready to die bro and besides, this Biafran thing has been labelled much as an "Ibo" movement. You really shouldn't expect sympathy when you refer to every other tribe that is not aligned with your goal as "animals who live in a zoo" undecided

mrphysics:
@op, we r scientifically inclined, we r doing our best, ask urself, how much is made available for research in Nigeria budget?
This is exactly what the op is pointing out. The government is filled with people who went through the average Nigerian way of life and it reflects a lot in the policies that are being created. We are simply, as a people, not interested in fact finding or researching. Anything we don't understand "god did it" and any negative thing that happens is the fault of "the devil". Until we start taking responsibility for our actions we will never find it necessary to investigate and research for solutions to our problems.
Politics › Re: If You Are Igbo And Not In Support Of Biafra Say "Yea" by hahn(m): 8:17am On Nov 24, 2015

I think everyone is missing the point of this Biafra movement.
And I think it is because we suffer from acute amnesia in this country, and that we are dishonest, even to ourselves.

Secondly, I also blame, once again, our educational system that doesn't teach young people important things of value.

Those who ignore history are condemned to repeat it.
Our lack of appreciation of history is the reason we keep going round in circles since Independence.

Biafra was a watershed in Nigeria's infancy. Unlike other civilised nations that study, learn and correct, we shove the underlying issues of Biafra under the carpet, pretend that it didn't happen , it didn't happen the way it did, or that it was simply Ojukwus fault,.Case closed.

I see the current Biafra movement, not as a precursor to actual statehood or tribal war. Far from it.

I see it as a ghost issue, a restless ghost that will always haunt this federal contraption unless it is honestly addressed and properly buried.

It surprises me that people view this movement narrowly as a bunch rascally Igbos stirring trouble, rather than a civil rights, Nigerian rights movement that it is.

For the past 55 yrs, Nigeria's leaders, one group after after another , have been betraying all of us , so much to the point where they count on and rely upon our timidity, cowardice and docility to rob us in ever more brazen ways.

They have conditioned us to even scorn those who may, from time to time, raise up a voice against the fraudulent system.

Leaders Need To Fear The People They Govern.

The Biafran movement is a one of a kind movement in modern Nigeria.
It is long overdue.

Don't be fooled by the name Biafra.
Biafra is for Shock value, to get everyone's attention.

It is a Nigerian movement. It should be.

For all those who have been clamoring for a total revolution to reconfigure this richly diverse and endowed nation, this Biafra movement might just be the precursor, the starting point.

Fear not my fellow citizens.

This movement, beyond the exaggerated rhetorics and macho posturings, lies the truths , the keys to our March to true nationhood as one Nigeria.
Bro, the Biafra struggle has actually lost it's significance because as a people, we have chosen to simply ignore what happened during the civil war. The civil war is not taught in schools and no one really talks about it aside from when Ibo parents pass the story down to their kids. It's the elephant in the room and considering the fact that we live in a country that is known for evading the truth and promoting lies it is really going to be a herculean task to overcome.

Also, the tribalistic sentiments displayed by both Biafra supporters and other tribes has kinda relegated the Biafra issue into a league of "their problem" instead of "our problem".

This country's case is really pathetic undecided

Look beyond the often exaggerated rhetorics and posturing.

He is only a radical civil agitator, not too different from the likes of Wole Soyinka of the 1960s.

He is not a militant, not a terrorists, not a jihadist nor a blood thirsty anarchist, all of which we have had plenty from every other section of Nigerian.

His movement should not threaten us, nor invite scorn, but rather sober reflections on the fraudulent, dead-on-arrival federal system that we operate that puts too much power at the center.
