The Bible was inspired by God himself, so we can expect to find much wisdom within its weighty pages. Here are some things we've learnt from it:

Holding people as slaves is ok. So is passing your slaves to your children when you die. You can also sell your daughters as slaves with God's blessing.

Beating your slaves, even if you kill them is ok too, so long as they live for a few days after the beating. It's only fair, after all, they are your property.

Raping a virgin girl is a crime. But it's not a crime against the victim, it's a crime against her father because her value will be diminished if she's not a virgin.

The best way to punish a man who rapes an unmarried girl is to have him pay her father compensation, force him to marry the girl and never allow him to divorce her. That will teach him.

A bride who is thought not to be a virgin on her wedding night should be stoned to death. Obviously.

The Earth was created before the stars. Stars are lights in a dome covering the Earth. The dome has water above it with windows that open to allow it to rain. Suck on that science!

These are all things we learnt from the Bible... but had to unlearn. And there is much, much more where that came from.

I have shared these with some christians, only to be met with curious looks. Apparently, they didn't know these are all in the Bible.

Well. wisdom from the Bible is hard to find, but utter nonsense and appalling moral values are easy.

Some years ago, I made a post about my very close friend whose wife scammed him of 50k. She told him she needed 50k to open email accounts for their two kids (Yahoo mail) and he paid.

Unfortunately my guy is poorly educated and not computer literate at all. After bragging around about his kids having email accounts and how much he paid, he got the shock of his life.

I need not explain the shock. This led to a severe fracas between him and his wife in which I had to rush down around 1am to intervene. That was when he reported the scam to me and I nearly had a burst lung trying to suppress laughter.

When I posted this in 2009, I thought the ladies on my friend list would reprimand my friend's wife. Rather many were hailing her!

One even said that was the kind of hubby she had been searching for!

Yesterday, he called me to ask if my company did WhatsApp registration for people. My heart lurched as I realized what might be in the offing again. And out it came: His wife said she needed 28k as refund for the money she used to register their kids on WhatsApp! And she actually showed him a receipt! Now he wanted to find out the real prices for WhatsApp registration before refunding her.

Because this God does not force himself or decisions on people while they have a freewill and are still on earth. This is why this God demands that people pray to him first before he steps in to help them. This is why this God hates sin, but has not come down from heaven to force you to accept Christ as your saviour. This is why when this God saw you about to commit fornication with your girlfriend, He did not come down from heaven to stop you from committing that sin which He already knows is destructive to your soul. This is why this God judges people at the end of their life because all the while they were alive on earth, they had a freewill to please Him and follow his way or not, so whatever decision humans make on earth, God is just for punishing or rewarding us at the end of life.

This is also why this God has not come down from heaven to slap your mouth all he while you have been insulting him, because he has given you a freewill to decide what you want to do on earth.....but you will be held accountable for your choices at the end of your life. Only Jesus can save you if you so wish

If god needs people to remind it before it does something as obvious as saving little kids then it does not deserve to be taken seriously. It is a waste of time
