President Buhari had before now, repeatedly claimed that Boko Haram has been defeated and can no longer capture towns like they did years ago. It should also be recalled that Boko Haram captured Borno town, Gudumbali, in 2014 when swathes of territory were seized in northern Borno and declared their Islamic Caliphate. The military reclaimed the town two years later in a regional fightback involving troops from neighbouring Chad, Niger and Cameroon. |

John 15:13 King James Version (KJV) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Christianity Etc › Re: Head-scratching Question 3(the Three Wise Men) by hakeem4(m): 6:34am On Aug 28, 2018 |
Thenewtruth: 1. Were they truly wise? They claimed they saw a star shinning brightly. Can the star shine brighter than the sun? How come they didn't follow the sun that shines brighter than the star?
2. How come no one saw the star except them? Herod who told them to come back didn't even see the star.
3. How did they know the star signified the birth of a baby? After all they only saw a star. 1) As seen during Northern Hemisphere winter or Southern Hemisphere summer, the stars seem brighter. Why? It’s partly because – around December, evenings the part of Earth the 3 wise men were standing on is facing into the spiral arm of the galaxy to which our sun belongs. There are some massive stars located in this direction, and they are relatively close to us 2) they were astrologers and they study stars and understand their astronomical meaning 3) hmmmm! i don't know the answer for this, because the story is a myth |
Christianity Etc › Re: LIST: Real Reasons Why People Go To Church. Truth We All Know But Dont Say by hakeem4(m): 9:04am On Aug 27, 2018 |
HardMirror: This is a list of the wrong reasons why people go to church, but who am i to say these things are wrong. You be the judge
1. Because everyone is going. Majority dont like going to church. They reluctantly go because everyone is going and they are expected to go.
MY PROOF: they are distracted in church and always want to leave as soon as they enter. 2hours service is even too long. Most cant just wait to leave as soon as they enter.
2. To show off. yes. Most people cant wait to get to church to show off their new cloths, jewellery , cars and finally tell testimony of how fantastic their lives are. Everyone that attends churches knows that man and woman who always wants to give testimony of how he travels in first class, bla bla bla praise God for my fantastic life!
MY PROOF: majority would refuse to go to church if they cant iron their cloths or dont have fancy cloths to wear. Dont lie, have you not dodged church because of cloths before? Or when u dont have offering. Lolz
3. To get husband/wife/friends with benefits. In Nigeria church is a good hunting ground for play boys. They dress nice and smell nice and talk smooth, soon a choir member would be singing under bros. This is unfortunate. Same thing applies to ladies looking for husbands. Church is the place to get the bros that are ready for marriage especially if you have wasted your youthful days in the world. Jesus arms are always welcoming he would give you an innocent brother to dump your remnant on.
My PROOF: just wait after service and see how bros and sis start pairing. Also from stories i get first hand.
4. To sell things/ for business church is where many ply their trade. Where to get clients for your GNLD products, where to get people for referal to MMM, where you sell your cloth materials at ridiculous price. Etc.
MY PROOF: many have approached me for one business or the other just after service. Especially the women, they always have something they want you to buy.
5. Because no where else to go. Need for miracle. Desperation poverty, ill health and a belief in miracles.
My proof. Many who are comfortable forget about church until they have problems.
What has been your experience. actually these are the main reasons why a lot of people attend church and also to keep themselves busy on sunday/saturday mornings |

[s] sparkle6: Atheist are just confused set of people who dont want to be held by the obligatory essentials of religion. Its either they want to live their life in sin without answering to nobody. Or they just want to argue blindly. No offense. [/s] NO i myself am an atheist and i did not decide to become an atheist because i wanted to sin. This your statement is just ridiculous because i became an atheist because i did not see any reason for there to be a supernatural or heavenly dictator to dictate how we live our lives on earth |
