@ Op, so d only evidence u present to suggest that Buhari is evil is that decades ago as d Head of state, he went all the way even to a point of kidnapping a thief to fight corruption? I hope u can say half as much about this incumbent. BTW the pension scam boss who absconded to Dubai, I hope the Jonathan govt is still looking 4 him after 2yrs? NONSENSE. Nigeria will remain like this till peeps like u kick out tribal/ religious sentiments.

Abagworo: . 2 parallel concrete walls will be cast there with the block used in designing the pillars while the middle is filled up with laterite(red soil). That is how the longer sealed part of flyover is built. The pillars support the bridges while the sealed part is used to create the slope towards the bridge filled with laterite.
bro, those 6inches blocks are NO structl members. If they were, there wld b a footing 4 it as well as reinforcements in d middle. Did u also observe dat the 6 inches wall has no hollow core?- its width is 12inches wide(two 6 inches blocks layed side by side) meaning nothing is intended to ne in d centre. I still stand by my prev arguement. The engrs know their job. In cast-insitu construction(wch they r employing), they wld get better precision by 1st arranging all d reinforcements in dat manner then later cutting off the unwanted members. It won't be so if they had used prefab constructn methods.

I'm trying to see your logic here, but you seem to make things more complicated. If the blocks are not a form of support, why use them
I believe the shutters where the concrete will be poured wl b steel boards not wood-prefabricated steel. I suspect there are no siding boards usually. With d 6inches blocks, they don't need boards 4 d sides. Just give d engineers time, u wld soon understand.

Thanks for proffering a possible answer. I thought in the design process if such space is necessary it would have been provided without the need for constructing a wall to show where it is supposed to be. Yet this wall will be torn down... Talk of cost overrun
that's true if the formwork is made of timber. But if its steel, then the 6inches blockwork is d easiest solution to avoid welding too many joints & corners. I think they wld use steel shutters to pour the concrete. Timber can even fail when it comes to mass concreete.

Please intimate we illiterates how it makes engineering sense to build a block to create a space for another wall. Still begs the question sir what is the purpose of the 6 inch block wall
when completed, the 6 inches blocks will be pulled down, the resulting opening is where pple will be passing. I don't know how to explain again o. Just picture that d bridge has no pillars but long walls instead. With those 6inches block walls broken down to create openings where pple can pass

kmariko:

Is it necessary because judging from the picture its not a total wall but actually a form of "support" seemingly. Maybe it is the picture, but if it is something to be torn down, doesn't the height of the structure tell a different story

its necessary it rises as high as the main girder(beam) & its not any form of support @ all. Its just to create an opening where pple can pass thru after its torn down

What genius claim??

Can your Genius explain why there are steel rods between the pillars??

"Enshineer" my yansh!!

grin

the steel rods is where the 'long' pillar walls are going to be casted. The blocks wld be brocken down after completion to create space between the walls. Pls cut d engineer some slack, even a carpenter won't use that as support 4 a storey building talk less of a flyover

Sir , So what is the purpose of the 6 inch block wall
the bridge by design is not resting on pillars but fat walls. The 6inches wall is a false wall that wld be broken down later to create space pple can pass after the main fat structural wall has been casted in position where those irons are.

Op but y be a rabble rouser? Except u intend some political mischief. I've passed that place many times on my way to akwakuma when d footing ws done the flyover isn't to rest on piers its to rest on concrete structl walls whose reinforcement u can see in ur 1st pix. The 6inches block walls u r shouting wld be demolished later after the insitu concrete wall has been cast to create spaces in the long wall.. So pls be informed & stop d mischief.

Politics / When Will Jonathan Apologise To Nigerians? by hakunamatata1: 7:58am On Jul 17, 2014
It is almost three. months that the Jonathan
government has been “unable” to rescue over
200 abducted Chibok schoolgirls, and over three
years since the first sets of abducted boys and
girls have been with – and died at the hands of –
Boko Haram in Sambisa Forest, with the
government simply not being willing or able to
save them. As the agricultural economy is being
destroyed in the north, over 80,000 peasants
have been killed and three million northern
farmers displaced; the third highest
displacement in recent recorded world history.
Despite a quarter of Nigeria’s budget being
allocated to security, Nigeria’s insecurity is
worse than ever in our history, a worse level of
carnage than the civil war as Nobel laureate
Wole Soyinka stated. It is more than obvious
that the state of insecurity is paying off
elements in the nation’s military and government.
Terror pays.
A cover story in a recent edition of the
Vanguard reported the ascension of Nigeria to
the world’s top position in oil vandalism. Yes, we
are now officially Number One according to
OilPrice.com, a global organisation that reviewed
multiple countries and their rates of oil
pilferage. President Goodluck Jonathan gave
millions to an unrepentant Niger Delta terrorist
and gave him the rights to bear arms and finance
a parallel army, whose duty, the Reuben Abatis
claimed, was to secure the oil facilities in the
Niger Delta. Are we meant to believe that this
ex-militant is being financed and armed to
defend the nation from oil theft when today we
have the worst level of it in our history and have
achieved the Number One position in the world?
Certainly not.
The list of national criteria in which Nigeria
under Jonathan has achieved the worst ranking
in the world is no news. We have written on this,
times without number. We are all aware that
Nigeria is now Number one kidnap capital of the
world; most terrorised nation on earth; for
dangerous high sea piracy; in oil spill pollution;
and in poverty in cognisance of population/
economy figures. The list goes on and on. It is
also no news that the Jonathan government loves
criminals and terrorists; that for the four years
of this government, which also are the four
years of Boko Haram’s real reign of unlimited
terror, not a SINGLE sponsor of the terror
group has been convicted; that this government
frees all criminals and killers. We all know that
Abba Moro, whose ministry supervised the
recruitment test into the Nigeria Immigration
Service that killed 25 of us, is still the Minister
of the Interior; how Ayo Fayose, was sponsored
by Aso Rock to re-capture Ekiti; and we also
know of Diepreye Alamieyeseigha among others.
We know how Sani Abacha, who poisoned us to
death with deadly, imported petrol and stole our
billions of dollars, is honoured by Jonathan. Our
army today, once a very prestigious regionally
recognised force, has been diminished under
this government and is now globally recognised
for deadly corruption, hopelessness and terror-
aiding, known more for killing its own soldiers,
supplying arms and cover to terrorists and
inflicting direct terror on the citizenry with the
open burning of towns and public transport
buses.
With all this, as Nigeria falls down, down and
becomes a globally registered and acknowledged
nation of youth unemployment and state targeted
murder, oil pollution, terror politics, corruption,
over 70 per cent of treasury looting, insecurity
with armed robbery, kidnapping, child abduction,
high sea piracy, terror exportation, and every
terrible index there is, the question is – is there
any point where the President will apologise for
this incomprehensible wickedness?

ojoawo: Eccless - So Good ft Mike Abdul

To drop a fair assessment, I had to stay off any songs that my affect my rating of this song and took my time before listening to this track.

One thing that struck me was the tempo of the song, I was like - are you serious Mike Abdul is on this? It has this soul intriguing easy listening signature to it that basically make me like songs.

Long story short, Eccless, I love your voice **no homo**, your delivery was superb. the instrumental was solid and I love the lyrics. That being established however, I felt you short-changed Mike Abdul on this, Beat was kinda slower than what he'll normally sing on. I mean it was really nice hearing Mike on something different but he didn't go full strength. Notwithstanding, I understand why this is a HIT, it was a massive effort. This is the type of songs I'll definitely bump to this in my car, play it loud early morning on my sound system and play it with my Headset at night on bed.

Big Ups from me. Please keep making these good music...
Not a few pple hav commented about d tempo. Wld def work on it b4 the videos.
I'm motivated bro by ur assessment. God bless u for me. Gracias.
