Jobs/VacanciesRe: How Do Freelancers Pay Tax? by Hamachi(f): 8:09am On Nov 19, 2023
anu3:
Hello, please could anyone with experience tell me how to full my duties to the government in terms of tax. I've never done it before.

And would I calculate it in dollars or naira; if dollars, will it be in official rate or parallel market rate.

If you know what's right, please let me know.

Thanks.
Dear Anu,
The tax you talk about is it for the foreign country or the Nigeria government, if it's the former don't bother as it probably must have been taken care of, however of it for the latter, remain anonymous except your business is registered.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Share Your Experiences Working In A Private Company In Nigeria" by Hamachi(f): 8:02am On Nov 19, 2023
Most QSR jobs are tedious and stressful.

In Nigeria, they have association (AFCON) just like Private schools so if you leaving one QSR to another the pay difference is not much.

Use Social media to check the reviews from previous staff.

However, I did not enjoy my stay at the company due to hectic and stressful work environment, I resigned May 2022, although the pay is high but debit will reduce the pay at the end of the month.

There is no room for growth and no job security. A typical day at work is filled with tension because you are afraid to make mistake knowing fully well that you will pay for any mistake and some mistakes lead to dismissal even when they know that it wasn't intentional. No HMO, you go for maternity leave after 2 year

The owners of the organization are lovely people but the management staff are not but later found out that the owners are actually the ones behind the demonic managers.

If it a teaching job, welcome to modern slavery especially if it's a school in trenches.

As regards bank work, it depends on the bank plus it very stressful especially if you are not at the HQ

For Manufacturing, run from Asians or Indian owned because it a sweat shop, you work like jaki, the pay is poor, you could get fired, no job security, no HMO, no benefits just your salary. Some Nigeria who own manufacturing companies are devil incarnate especially one at that hostel b/stop in Ikotun. However, the handlers of the manufacturing firms most atimes are the ones that do the devilish act

Trading (buying & selling), depends on the person who owns the company but with my little time in the company, damnit I suffer sha, you go work like say work no dey finish, just few of them have good benefits others are all about the profit.

FMCG, hmmmm I don't want to mention name but, work dey sha plus some of the Indians there have turned our ladies into something else.

Consulting, hmmmm, it was actually a training ground or you use them as a stepping stone to greater things, just ignore the insults and learn as much as you can.

Hotels, lounge & Clubs, if you are not careful 😉 you can from there enter street because you will see things you haven't seen before and be wondering are we actually the most prayerful country in the world. 1.5% of the owners of hotels are saint because the less than 3 star 🌟 rating onwers are womaniser and drink heavily. Some will openly ask you out, their friends and family members would be hitting on you.

Government work, it the best place to work, bribery is the order of the day, even your oga has certain % you remit to him, you can even do back door 🚪 runs without the knowledge of your boss e.g the judiciary.
In addition, you can come to work anytime you feel like a case in study is Nigerian lecturer, they sell hand out with reckless abandone, cancel class if they don't feel like coming, grades are sold to the highest bidder, the class rep must sell a certain amount of his text but to even get a "grin" grade otherwise he fails the course.

An average Nigerian is hard working stop cappin

Working from 9-5 here in Nigeria and gettting paid paltry 80-100k monthly is not compared to how much you get when you work same hours over there where you are likely to be paid between 18-25$ per hour minimum

Some Nigerians work two to three shifts because they know how much they will make from both jobs so don’t come here and be saying Nigerians like awoof

Na genZ spoil everything pata pata, they don’t want to work or go to school or even learn a craft but rather be online doing TikTok challenge and uploading mara pupo dance 💃 🕺

I know of a boy who recently left Nigeria for UK, his dad has been there for years, he was a big time yahoo boy and owns a Lexus car, his dad was able to get him a job and he led last month

Nigerians know how to work hard and party harder that’s just it
He actually said the truth and you know the truth is bitter. An average Nigerian with no experience would want you to pay him 250k because his simply a graduate angry

nothing like working smart in the uk. If they require you to wipe oyinbo yansh for 12 hours you will spend all 12 hours wiping yansh
Basically, you work for every penny.

Well from my own experience oo, Nigerians or Japarians are hardworking and not lazy

Pakistani, Indian, Lebanese, Arab, comiunity would gather together to socialize, help themselves, intermarry, network

Nigerian neighbors won't even great themselves

One time our philipino HR back then needed, workers, overseas ... see as Pakistani, Indian were submiting CV for there people, we Nigerians submit nada, no help, we still dey survive

.
it's even worst back in Nigeria.

There's usually the cultural, environmental and physical shock
Nuzo1:
In Canada?
How many supermarket and school shootings have you heard happened in Canada especially when compared to Boko, iswap, ipob, Fulani and police shootings in Nigeria? Compare the numbers and tell us who has more mental illness over the other?

This particular lifestyle the op is complaining about is what most Nigerians pray for in this Nigeria. Living in a crowded and most times violent neighborhoods but as soon as they make a little money, they move to ‘isolated’ neighborhoods, suburbs and estates ….and be thankful for the upgrade.

But when it comes to Canada where almost everyone lives a life of an average Banana island resident, it becomes a problem.

I guess the major problem our people usually have in situations like the op is that he doesn’t see very poor people living in face me I face you to make himself feel good.

Nobody send their papa.
grin everyone is equal, I recall a Nigerian seeing the prime minister walking on the streets without heavily guarded and she went up to him and did a live video and it trended on socials.
