TravelRe: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by hammed71(m): 9:27pm On Sep 19, 2019
fummylolah:
I really appreciate all the people that have been contributing to this page in enlightening the public about the fact that they can actually process international passport on their own. God bless.

To my experience.
I went ikeja passport office for my renewal process and met a customs officer who told me the new one 32 pages is N45,000 but I would pay and fill all the required info at ikeja and still go to ikoyi office for capturing which does not make sense to me while the old one is #28,000 and would take like 3 months to come out since their is no booklet. The place was actually very empty.

I told him I was ready to process the new one and he asked for my National identification number. I had not collected the slip from Zenith bank where I captured and so, I excused myself and told him I would return the next day.

I proceeded to zenith bank and picked my NIN slip. Went back to the office and just felt like going tru nairaland again on passport processing. That was when my senses finally resurrected. I followed the guide I read up here. Filled the form on immigration site, got the reference and print out, went to GTB to make payment for the passport (25,500) and updated my payment on my created profile when I got back from the bank. Immediately I got a date for capturing (12, September 2019). I was really excited. I saved N19,500 from doing it myself.

Day of capturing
I was very excited to go to Ikoyi passport office to view the drama because I had made up my mind that even if heaven falls, I wasn't going to bribe anybody. I got to ikoyi passport office at about 11:30am on the 12th of September and the sea of people was overwhelming. I first had my passport photograph taken outside (8 copies for N500), I went straight to servicecom desk and met a custom officer for guidance. About three of them asked me who was processing it for me because they hardly see people do it themselves. I was made to fill a new set of data forms (3), dropped two passport, photocopy of my old passport data page, NIN slip and bought a file which i took to servicom. From there, I went to a room for approval. I had to take the file to like 5 different persons/department for approval and stamp before I was finally sent to the capturing room. I was almost discouraged but was glad I did the process myself ( at each table I had to wait for a million files of custom officers that are processing for people to be stamped first).

The capturing room queue was very fast and within 30 mins I was done. I was given a slip and a date to come for the passport (10 working days), I Returned my fill to servicecom and off I left at about 2:00pm

I didn't spend a kobo for bribe neither did anyone ask me. All I did was that I was very polite, greeted every officer with a smile and asked questions from senior custom officers. It was an experience and thanks to Nairaland family for the enlightenment.

Would let you know when my passport finally is ready but for now, my status shows Vetted.

was it the new 32pages one you did?

After next day after the contact with the uncle , I made up my mind to apply to Germany...with faith o! Because there was no money to fund my Block Account or even hope of getting!

So I started with applying for my undergraduate transcripts and certificate from my school! (Btw, I didn’t get it till 2 months later). I also wrote the IELTS exam and had a 7.0 score.

With all my documents set, I started applying for schools. They were about 7-8 and got admission to all but 2 schools. This was towards the end of June and early July. By now, I had gotten an appointment date at the embassy and was preparing.

All hands was on deck...Affliction must not strike a second time!

My interview came and it was beautiful! And as God will have it, I got my approval Mail 2 weeks and 6 days later! It was an amazing feeling! Along the way, I got a Sponsorship Letter from a relative in Germany and submitted to the embassy with the other requested documents!

To the Glory of God, Visa came back exactly 3 weeks later! grin

The look on my mom’s face was priceless! And I’d forever cherish that memory!

So now that we are here now, let’s talk about my preparations!

From Friday and a week to my travel date, I’ll start giving out day to day updates of my preparation and experiences! And yeah, I’d be adding pictures too! grin

Stay glued to this thread...we would be having so much fun! smiley
how were you able to raise funds for blocked account

And after the school fees, you are bundled home because your work visa is too short, or the market is saturated and you can't find a job.

Nevertheless, I agree that one shouldn't be desperate and one should weigh his options.

This thread got old and was not updated over the years as I got more involved with additional responsibilities and deployment travels. my apologies. This Trip is about a deployment in Manila, Philippines. I may need to update the Title. bear with me please.
Since my last trip to SA, years ago, I have directed deployment of unified computing systems across various geographical regions for various clients represented by my consulting firm. My last deployment in Nigeria, early this year, but unfortunately I could not write much about it. The trip was quite challenging due to infrastructural limitations, such as power, bandwidth/committed information rates/costs, traffic issues to get to meetings on schedule. Nigeria was fun, nonetheless.

As noted in the original intro, I will discuss general Networking technologies I'm involved in without specifics to my current project to confidentiality agreements. I am currently in the Philippines on a similar project.

Food: If there are any NL readers in the Manila Metro area, please msg me on the good places to get some Nigerian dishes if any. I will write and discuss my trip/visit as it pertains to visiting the Philippines for other intending travelers.

Getting here: I departed from the Eastern US, and transited via Tokyo, japan and then onto manila. The trip was uneventful for the most part,
we did come across some rough air across the south China sea about 2hrs into the 4hr flight. The turbulence lasted about 15 minutes, but of course, it felt like it lasted longer. That part of the route is typically choppy due to the cross winds. I was picked up at the Manila airport by a car arranged by the client. Check in at the Hotel was pretty smooth and cool.

Note of Advice to those Network Engineers and those pursuing that career path. Do not relent, but please add Cloud computing to your repertoire. That is the evolution in the industry now. Everything is geared towards the 'Cloud' for now, specifically AWS, Azzure, and Goggle Cloud. There are other smaller players as well. This current trip involves a lot of AWS integration to a global WAN.

I will update more, got to get some sleep now.

How do I go about getting admission? ----> Refer to Pages 1 - 5 of tis thread

Does Ireland offer spring admissions? Google and check individual Irish schools for admission timelines

How much should I budget? Varies depending on school. Check individual schools for fees/payment timelines. Average fees tis year is €13, 500. Schools like NUI Galway €17, 750. Some allow for instalmental payment others like NUI Galway dont (declined their offer "cos of that). Dont take my word though. Research individual schools for yourself.

Cost of living Estimate - €7, 000

Any cheap schools? You will be better off researching that out as well. Will say, not so cheap in the sense of being cheap smiley

Hope it helps bro. Best of success!!!
Thank you

Hello house, a friend was granted asylum, and now hold a 10year P.R. wants to know if she can visit other african countries?
As long as it is not her country, she can visit other African countries because when she gets back to the us and the CBP sees she got her green card through asylum they would ask her if she visited her country if she says yes they would revoke her green card , because why would you go to the country they are persecuting you. I sent you a pm, I want to make some enquiries.

Northeastern:
When people take their time to give a robust response that more than addresses the question asked, you folks would still come up with these your easy out questions. It is not hard, go and try your luck, the person you are asking didn’t appear before the VO without writing a standardized exam. You guys should learn to ask reasonable questions.

You can deceive some people but not everyone, in your books, it is only the CGPA and standardized tests that the adcom considers to make admission decisions. You failed to give the specifics of your case and the fact that no two candidates are the same. There are types of scholarships, what you are being encouraged to seek is not a GA position. Scholarship played the final role in my decision to select my school. Despite getting a $65,000 scholarship from Northeastern, I turned them down because I got a GA in my present school.

I have been required on several occasions to enter my GMAT scores when applying for jobs. An interviewer in London had once told me that getting a GA position was no small achievement, I guess she said so because it is not common to get a full scholarship in the UK. The point is, you are better off with a standardized test. The assumption here is that those aspiring to school in the US want to get a job post-graduation, no be to come dey struggle. So, everyone should check the necessary boxes to clear all doubts. That leads me to my next story.

I took the TOEFL yesterday in preparation for a fall 2020 admission. I want to change careers. I met a Naija guy who told me that I was wasting my money, he is a permanent resident. All he had for me was bad news, of how I will not get a job after my program because his friend is stranded in the US after his MBA. He didn’t allow me to say anything because he thought he knew more than I do because he is a PR.
I told him that unlike his friend, my MBA program is STEM-designated and I wouldn’t be needing the 3 years for OPT because I would get my GC few months after my graduation. He asked if it is through marriage, I show him my wedding ring and told him I am married. I told him about the EB3 visa, he didn’t know what it is. While we were on it, his ride came and he left immediately.

Please if you are coming here on F1 and you have $24,000 to spare, you can get the GC before graduation. The entire process takes about 14 months. I didn’t know this when I came else I for don file my i-485 by now. I remember someone here last year saying that he’ll soon get his GC and it is not through marriage, he was a master's student. I strongly believe he was referring to this route.
