Our cultural values in Africa prioritize respect for elders, and this extends beyond politics to embody a deep-seated societal norm.
Cultural value wey no include complete detest for cowsrdi, complete detest for greed, corruption, illiteracy... Is that a culture that should be valued?

We will all be victims of our hypocrisy.

Psalmspsalms:
I agree with it. I'm from north central and as today, the prices of foodstuffs is still moderate. A rubber paint of fresh tomatoes goes for 1800, u get plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables at moderate prices...
Currently, I'm in bonny island, here in rivers state where a rubber paint of fresh tomatoes goes for #5000, a rubber of yam goes for 3k to 4500.
The prices for fruits and vegetables are just sky rocketing. Three fingers of bananas goes for 300.
In terms of feeding, the north are indeed trying.

Pls nobody should attack me oo... I just gave my opinion
Oh we know. I visited Kaduna a few years back and it changed my whole perspective of what the 'economy' means to the average Nigerian.

5k meal for una side fit reach 13k for here.

No matter how you feel about things, oil unfortunaely is our main earner because you guys won't vote for parties who would diversify our economy away from oil.
Lol. You guys? Na wa. Be like you pack full bag of assumptions come this thread. Drop your load and be enLightened.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Angola Exits OPEC by HappyPagan: 3:42pm On Dec 21, 2023
nairalanda1:
Anyone hailing Angola on leaving OPEC...should know it is bad news for Nigeria.

Oil prices fell on the news. Know what that means? It means Angola is free to produce and pump as much oil as it wants without any pesky OPEC quota...which means lower oil prices long term because of the resultant glut.

This weakens our revenue stream drastically, meaning we have to take more and more loans, or the government would have to raise your taxes well well, in the short term at least.

So, don't rejoice.
How oil don help us? Make our revenue kukuma finish, so hunger go force us to dig our grounds and our brains. Since na only oil we wan use prosper... Country of over 200 million disjointed fellows.

So for this your childish reason, muslims should be allowed to air their opinion on threads about other religions but are so special and sacred that others cannot post on islamic threads.....some people are just so insecured that they need to be pampered in Public discuss. Are we not by all means saying that Islam is delicate and volatile and must be protected.
There are Muslim forums online that aren't restricted. The reasons you call 'childish' might be valid... the world doesn't revolve around you or your feelings.

There's a history behind the restriction of Islamic threads on NL. You can go read through it if you are really interested in seeking a solution, rather than adding to the huge pile of redundant threads on this very topic.

PS: I'm not Muslim, and I do not support the ban.
Politics / Re: Religious Injustice On Nairaland by HappyPagan: 2:17pm On Dec 08, 2023
Cos y'all Southern Christians are annoying. It's your way or no one else's way. Y'all know very little about other religions. Combine that with your belief the Holy Spirit lives in you, you create some kind of arrogant ignorance that can be impossible to bear.
