Crime › Re: Police Parade Phone Thieves, Issue Warning To Lagos Residents(photos) by hardbody: 1:53pm On Sep 20, 2017
stephanie11:
The Rapid Response Unit of the Nigerian police force has released a statement concerning the Numerous phone thieves operating around the Oshodi axis of Lagos state.

They also paraded some of the captures thieves and detailed their various modes of operating and listed hotspots/areas where they hang around. Read the full statement made available to PoliticsNGR below;

In recent times, the Lagos State Police Command has been able to drastically reduce the crime rate in Lagos. Of the phone thieves that still operate in Lagos, a substantial amount of them thrive in Oshodi.

They live and survive stealing phones through pickpocketing and snatching of mobile phones from commuters in commercial buses and private cars.

They walk the length and breadth of Oshodi at dawn, afternoon and night in search of victims.

At dawn, particularly, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, which are their peak moments, they snatch with delight and dexterity.

Occasionally at night, they rob in groups often wielding weapons and stripping their victims of any valuable.
They trail and monitor their targets till he or she makes the costly mistake of making a call or positions himself or herself appropriately to be pickpocketed.

Bolade, Under Bridge to Oshodi Oke, are their hot spots. They are always difficult to identify until they have accomplished their mission – steal your phones and disappear from the scene immediately.

Their intentions are hardly noticeable unless you are familiar with them. They would steal and steal until they are satisfied with the day’s taking. The traders in Oshodi know them and on most occasions see them in action, but they dare not mention it for fear of reprisal attacks.

These stolen phones end up in Akala, Mushin or Computer Village, Ikeja as London used phones, repackaged and polished for unsuspecting phone users.

The testimonies of those that were arrested by the men of Rapid Response Squad almost on daily basis shows that they are always in relentless search of victims.

Apart from those who sleep in parks and the Under Bridge of Oshodi, some of them migrate from Mushin and Sango daily to pickpocket and snatch phones and wallets in Oshodi.

One interesting group of these thieves operate in Oshodi Oke. They endear you to themselves in order to steal from you. Most times, they pretend to be helping you either to carry your load or get into bus while they stylishly steal your valuables.

It is challenging, no matter how many of them have been arrested, they always return, regroup and retrain themselves on their new found tactics.

However, RRS is not relenting, our officers are strategically positioned in Oshodi Oke, Under Bridge and Bolade, monitoring them.

These restless phone thieves are always on the prowl. Beware and see their confessions in these short video.

You were there arguing blindly and foolishly, relying on precedents that only showed your underbelly of crass ignorance. Lawyer my ar.se

Read or ask that it be read and interpreted to you because you clearly lack the ability to either read, comprehend or do both. Shame on your type.

I had decided to leave you to continue to wallow in your cesspit of foolishness but with same interpretations coming up everyday by people who are supposedly less knowledgeable, i can't but help sending these to you, in the hope your stupidity will change a bit, but alas, the leopard never changes its spots. Still yapping like a thing that won't shut up. I am obviously out of your league since you can't relate you have stuck with insults all the time and cannot discuss law.

Olodo I take people like you to the cleaners all the time in courts of law.

You tried me it failed, jumped at my alma mater it failed, what other low life eloquence do you want to hurl now.

Now I have your time create a thread and lets talk law. Just the two of us. Law alone.

Discus law and not persons.Olodo the only thing you learnt in your uni is insulting and you are even pathetic at it.

You are talking about eloquence, I marvel at how you display ignorance with haughtiness.

Just way beyond you, you will only kill yaself.
You are surely way beyond me.....in crass stupidity. I don't derail. It took a saraki to explain to you the flaws in simple legal interpretation usually taught to students at introduction to nigerian law 101.

Several colleagues of mine even reduced the understanding to the barest minimum, but your thick skull could not reason it out. Lawyer my foot. If all lawyers were of your ilk, i will burn my certificates and go into another field. You sir, are not a lawyer.

You surely take people to the cleaners, but certainly those are probably touts that you argue with in your neighbourhood beer parlour. I have never in the life of me met a more pathetic impostor claiming to be a lawyer.

You may go now, i am done with your sorry life, you are a waste of my time.

When you have been confronted with illogicality in your hare brain understanding of law, typically you result to eloquence of dogs. If your arguments indeed resonate with the spirit and letters of laws which you have flipped with an amateur twists you should have allow them to do for arguments and not result to ad hominem.

Told you guys to take your grouse to court and have your understanding of the law tested, how can you make yourself the attorney and judge at the same time.

Like most of your dumb lawyers, you always argue from a jaundiced point of view and play ostrich to the submissions of your opponent.

The constitutional provision that allows a president to take step to protect lives and properties will bend to your terrorism act. This is elementary law really, the constitutional supremacy to all laws as the grund norm. You skipped constitutional law class when it was taught.

You are just blowing hot air and don't know shit about law, it is not your calling and hiding under the vacuous arguments of silks, dumb ones at that can't compensate for your apparent deficiency.

You can seek me out for matching slanging and insult dont hide under arguments of law to do that, it makes you silly and pretentious. Told you to throw law at me thought you know it, you are just a flash on a pan.

What are the processes, like a president or police for example will need a court order to arrest some one committing felony in his presence.

Now you all of a sudden remember it is a nation of laws. Keep clapping with a finger. He who alleged must prove. No one will play on word with you or throw around a cliche with no reference to what is on ground. if you are alleging that there is no bss, that the whole world saw and can still access online, then go to court and pontificate about law of evidence.

On the issue of vacating the army 's declaration as been sententially incorrect, the faux pax is on you. Vacating is not tied only to a court order, it is an English word and polysemous.

The president has invoked his power to protect the lives of Nigerians and avert a senseless bloodshed orchestrated by a senseless rabble rouser by appropriately declaring iPod a terrorist group and nipping his insanity in the bud.

Pray tell what makes the declaration illegal and unconstitutional and setting up a bss constitutional and legal. Furnish the laws, cases with citations and other persuasive authorities. Let's talk law.

like I said you like all your ilks can continue to hide behind a finger, your funeral really.
If you read earlier comments made by silks, together with the appropriate sections in the Terrorism Act, which you can actually download free from the NFIU portal, and then you read the relevant sections of the Constitution determining how Terrorists are to be so declared, then you'd understand the futility, nay , insincerity in your line of thoughts. I don't spoon feed brats. If you are willing to learn, i will oblige you but if you want to sit on a high horse, remain there. Even the sections have been quoted elsewhere in a similar thread and properly analysed. Read and learn, stop parading ignorance.

For the benefit of those who may wish to know, Section 2 ( c) of Terrorism Act, 2011. Further subsection 2 requires that after the IGP etc have argued the desirability of the declaration before a judge in chambers, the order should then be published in the gazette.

Your funny definition of arresting a man committing a crime in your presence is simple right given by the constitution to all Nigerians including you. Stop standing the law on its head, we are talking declaration of terrorism by the army, the question is, under our laws, does the army have such powers. You are either studying law, reading up law books, or you are a quack. Trained lawyers have higher perceptive reasoning than what you displayed up there.

You set up a bss a precursor to a parallel army and some lawyers are waiting for the attorney general or IGp that answers to a presidency that has made a declaration to make the declaration. Elementary law, the principal of an agent has the right to make the call.

Don't mix it up, others agitating did not set up an armed forces even opc armed forces is deliberately left informal with no rank and hierarchy but iPod will never think things through but are always impulsive and senseless, every thing must be done in abrasive and cavalier manner.

The executive has declared iPod a terrorist GRP, iPod can go to court to vacate the declaration but until that order is obtained they shall be treated like a terror group

The constitutional responsibilities of the president to protect lives and properties was well invoked in declaring iPod a terrorist GRP.
HE who alleges must prove. That is basic evidence in law. How many of these BSS members were arrested, to the best of your knowledge and information. Hearsay can't stand in a court of law. Let us be objective.

Why would ipod or whatever you call the, go to court to vacate an order that was never made by a court, a declaration that is illegal being unconstitutional. Who has been teaching you these things you claim to be law.

Constitutional responsibilities of the president carried out under what law? Why are people always so blinded by hatred and prejudice.

There is a process and it wasn't followed and you say people should go and vacate it. This is still a nation of laws even if you people are basking in the euphoria of belligerence. Please note, i am igbo but do not support biafra at least in the manner they are going about it.

I received a great trauma yesterday when i watched about 45% of my fellow teachers received they sack letter. At first I taught it was going to be mere talk by the new director of the school, who happens to be the daughter of the owner of the school. Lo and behold the reality took place yesterday.

Up till now, i have not recovered from the shock as most of the sacked fellows were very to the proprietress. First they said there would be a re-interview and a kind of verification. Then after, we were told to return later the result.

I arrived a little bit late to the venue for the meeting and i met the director sharing a brown envelopes to the bearers. I thought it was cash prize and asked for mine, but they told me my name was not among, i was lost. when i realized what was going on was when i glanced at my colleagues own . and the content briefly.

Now my problem is that they issued a new code of conduct, which most of them as far as am concerned, are like threats and stringent rules and am sure i cannot keep to them.

So dudes, what do you suggest i should do?
In your first line you wrote you taught, instead of you thought, do you seriously think you should be retained?

I stopped reading from that point, by the way.

In Biafraa, no military will have right to invade a community....never. If you are seen in the streets for no apparent reason, the civilians will ask you what are you doing in the streets. All healthy Biafraans shall have military training like Isrealis do as an active duty personnel or reservee; making it impossible for a military person to intimidate a civilian, because they know everybody in Biafraa has military training and has access to gun, and can shoot it professionally.

This idea of military molesting people you see in Nigeria will never happen in Biafraaland. Military will treat you like a colleague, with respect because they know your ability as a man or a woman in the military! Even the idea of coup will be non-existent in Biafraland, before the coup plotters complete their coup assuming foreign powers are trying to disrupt Biafra using some senior military officers, civilians who are also military officers and soldiers themselves will bring out their guns and deal with the coup plotters themselves. Rogue elements in the military won't even contemplate trying such because they know the civilians are armed to the teeth. As Asari Dokubo said, by the time we have structured United States of Biafra, other countries will be consulting us to use our model. It would a perfect system of government where every aspect of the government is controlled by the people. The leaders are just mere caretakers and servants of the people.

All hateful comments below replying me are Afonjas out of envy. What they don't know is Asari Dokubo, Nnamdi Kanu, constitutional lawyers and other members of the Biafra Constitution and System of Government committee have recommended this plan above. Go and watch Asari Dokobo recent lecture on Biafra Military.

This set of people have the most awkward believe.

They don't carry out blood transfusion no matter the condition - believing that bible condemns it
They believe they're the only people that will inherit the earth when everyone might have died.
They believe the world will end after Jehovah might have taken 144,000 of his righteous ones from their church
They don't believe in Christmas celebration and so many other believes that I find awkward.

However, the culprit of such awful act should be brought to book. What does a human gain in killing another who's virtually unknown to you. Indeed, we have lost our humanity.
The fact you find their beliefs awkward doesn't necessarily make them wrong. Besides, if your reasoning is not warped, you would have read that extremists sprayed them because they lost elections because the witnesses remained neutral and refused to vote. It may also be awkward for you to understand why they should be politically neutral. Have you ever engaged with them to search out why they believe in what they do? Or you are just being led by what you are told must be the non awkward positions.
