It will be a prb if a lady i know continually wears skirt and gowns without finding time to accentuate the Godly qualities with which he has endowed the effeminate creation by the use of trousers.

Biafran military must have been very strict on rules for Ifeajuna to have been executed for the mistakes of banjo.

As bristish intelligence declassify more information about what went behind during the war ,Nigerians should realise that that delay by banjo was what cost biafran army victory .
My uncle who fought closely by Ojukwu (May his RIP) told me this story way back and how his British wife fainted when she learnt that 'Banjo' was mandated to direct the offensive. (or something of that sort)

The rest is now history.

Which culture approved trousers for men and skirts for women?

Before answering please consider and explain the kilt worn by Scottish highlanders, the dressing in sari by indian women and some hausa women and the tying of wrapper by adult igbo men.

I have changed my mind. Op should protest so he can be fired and a better candidate brought in to replace the hediot. @ Op, your stupid brain failed to understand that there are job functions? You produce and yet to acquire and may never acquire the skill set to become a manager of people and resources...which is what your manager is

Not trying to be tribalistic too but I actually think he's an igbo man, cos they are the ones that are usually so full of themselves
I have been reading and was content with it till u started typing this rubbish. I am Igbo. I did all the work as a senior manager reporting to a Director who was a DMD in my multinational. I never for a day coveted his position even though i knew he was deliberately stalling my career growth. In line with what most reasonable people here have said, i did the job and let him take all the glory, that way i protected my job. A day came when he chose to resign and the Board did not think twice about elevating me. I did not become a Director but took over the substantive post that the man kept me acting for 3 years.

My point? Grow up and see things for what they are and stop being tribalistic. Today i have igbos and yorubas reporting to me and they do all the job i used to do then. My role is only advisory and supervisory now with direct interface to the MD, Chairman and the Board. Grow up small girl and also move around a bit and learn about other cultures.

Iamvictor:
Rape! rape! news all around, the indecent dressing of law students could have prompted the act.. but there is not justification of the inhumane act of the dean. (if found guilty) he must dance to the tune of the music.
I was in that school on the 24th of August and left on the 26th back to Lagos. Two things I noticed, one, the law students dress decently (generally speaking) with below the knee black skirts and white tops; I met with the said Dean as i needed a favour from him. His body language betrayed a few things that i may not be able to put in writing here.

Interestingly I went back to Calabar this week (Sunday) and came back yesterday. I heard this man had some issues so could not address my request. I managed to see him, but again, his body language still appeared deceptive. I don't trust him a lot now and i see no reason why this girl will be lying against him.

Unfortunately, the girl will lose both ways. She may not be able to prove this rape (circumstantial evidence appears to be strongly against her), She did not shout prior to, in the course of or even after the supposed act (from what the lawyer said), and no other person appeared to have heard this struggle or her screams. When the dust is settled, she will come and face the wrath of the Dean and the other lecturers (those guys act like a cult and protect each other).

Its a pity that this is happening in my alma mata......I am still a malabite for life

Really its no big deal. You are adults legally married a d doing stuff in your house so no biggie. Besides we are all higher animals so ur mum was right too. But let me ask....Did she not know its simple courtesy to knock and wait to be asked in? You should teach her and while at it, let her know she should apologise to ur wife. She may be her daughter but she is your WIFE.

iamayodeji:
I intend to pursue an academic career ( Lecturing). Am a graduate already and will be through with my Youth service in a month time. I plan to proceed to do masters immediately.

The issue is that I don't want to sit down and be doing nothing besides my masters. I want to be doing something aside and that's why I think a Graduate Assistant Job will fit in. I also have programming skills but I think it may interfere with my studies because it is time consuming.

Anyone with a valid information on how to get a graduate assistant job either in a University or Polytechnic.

Also, must I be a graduate assistant in the same school am carrying out my masters?

I need to know how to go about it.

Thanks in advance for your advices.
Look up. You will see that advert that says, 'Boost your monthly income with a part time job.' It is a perfect answer to your question, or what do you think?

Maybe she was too good to be true to the guys she met in the past. Many men run from such ladies I dont know why. Even here on NL a guy was asking for help in dumping his super nice babe who he said gives her all to their relationship. In his own words he said he kniws he is throwing away a gem but he just cant love her. That is how it plays out for many good girls and guys.
If sh3 was a bit earthly or should I say vain she would have married 10 times over and still have a long line of men desiring to be her next Mr (maybe)Right.
Anyway, its not too late for her to get married but she may not be able to find a man younger than 45 to love her and marry her cos of her age.
She should not rush now o. Many people may take advantage of her if she does.
She should mingle go to places where people meet. Eg fellowships, clubs(Not night club o stuff like tennis club, salsa dance club, rotary club etc) and all other places like that. Sh3 should not be too eager to please. She should play mature and be open to date.
Why not just save her the trouble and date her or if you are female, get your brother to date her and cut this melancholic story short.

Meanwhile, you are right about the possibility of people taking advantage of her if she pursues this marriage venture so aggressively.

I wish the lady well. I also buy the suggestion of Strawberry. OP can even o[en a thread for her like, '45 cuties single and searching' and her contemporaries may join her.

I will be praying for her. But is marriage the ultimate? She can still live a very happy life.
