People coming to Calgary.....
1) DO NOT book an AIRBNB in the NW ....it's the end of the world... In my opinion
2) Ensure to write your address in your pocket, should your phone die, that paper can save your life, especially during winter/cold.
3) Before leaving home during winter, charge your phone properly, the cold drains battery.
3) Uber fees are crazy here, please learn and perfect the use of Google map from Naija.... You will need the CALGARY TRANSIT APP.....
4) DON use the Calgary Transit app with small kids when you never Sabi use am oooo, if you lost, do it on your own, don't torture the little kids..nah you come Sabi
5) A Nigerian needs to come open a barbershop in this Calgary... Around downtown oooo.... Don't carry us to the bush.... |

Ugosample: So no jobs in Alberta or Manitoba? Ontario is like Lagos with head offices of companies and has 14.3 million people now, Manitoba like Osun with 1.3 million people...I don't know where to place Alberta that has about 4.3 million people ... But way better than Manitoba job wise..... All beautiful cities though.... Alberta should be like P.H... Economy booms when oil prices and market is good... But now that the oil market is under.... Things are a bit slow.... You'll get a job eventually wherever you go.... But you might start small before you get what you really want |

Godisincontrol: Out of the dollar stores, Dollar Tree seem to be cheaper as I get most items there at $1.25 or less. In addition to this, there is an app(flipp) I use to know stores having deals/promotions in my area(Edmonton) and it's been helpful so far.

mbakweich: Greetings great people..... My first time commenting on this trend. Received my CPR February and have already booked my flight for 15th of May to edmonton, Alberta. Fact is I don't have any relative or friend in Canada and this would be my first time outside west Africa. I am in need of any connection, Nairalanders that could assist me in arranging a mini accommodation and possibly in settling down in Edmonton. I already looked at Airbnb (cost factor) and I feel it would be better I rent an accommodation to minimize the usage of my POF. Any help will be highly appreciated. Use rentfaster.ca to check for accommodations for rent...or download the app.... That's how I got my place before leaving naija with lease signed and all....but I had someone inspect it for me though and I made payment immediately I landed.... |

for those of us who have ICAN certification only, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel, even though I do not know when exactly it's going to come to fruition. Read below the response from ICAN as regards ICAN to CPA conversion
Hi Segun,
MRA Still in progress, ICAN has provided all the required documents for the evaluation and the CPA has scheduled 2019 for the evaluation.
Our application is already in queue and following the CPA evaluation process, stay tuned!!!!
Thanks

Influential101: Wow.. how sure are you about this? Because what I know is that one must have commenced ACCA prior to landing and not necessarily completing it.
I will appreciate a link to your source.. thanks so I made further research, and I found out from someone who had the same issue that's it peculiar only to CPA Alberta, other CPA provinces do not give that crazy condition, my apologies if I misled anybody |

Adiepena: Hello landed Seniors, Trust y’all keeping well. Am landing in Calgary early April. I started my accommodation search early cos am traveling with my kids. I must say this accommodation thingy is not a walk in the park at all. Without employment, credit history or references no one is willing to rent. When u find one too, it’s an adult only building or single occupancy ♀️♀️♀️♀️. Immediately you tell them you are a newcomer, end of conversation. My friend went for viewing of another place on Friday and as usual no employment wahala. She insists on taking 6months rent upfront.....I was negotiating for 3months upfront but proving difficult. Even though I can afford the 6months rent upfront, giving out such an amount early on in this journey freaks me. I need your honest opinions pls. Thank you It's fairly easy, download the rentfaster app from the play store, but you need someone to go help you check the apartment though, I could give you the number of my property manager.... Check this website... https://www.rentfaster.ca/ab/calgary/rentals/?user_ID=20919Just pick her number from the listed apartment |
