1. The total population of a country will not be in the army.
2. The Force Ratio is used for battlefield tactics.

It is expected I will take a way heavier casualty than the defenders.
It is commonsensical.

America will all their gadgets fought a crippling war in middle east for over 20 years, where they were losing men to IEDs.

Lagos was a slave port for 100s of years even before the British.

Its location has always made it favourable.

When the returnee slaves came, they settled in or around Lagos as there was a form of development there.

They then contributed their own quota.

When the Brits came, they made Lagos alone a Colony, whicb must have happened because it was viable.

Lagos alone was a Colony.

Afterwards they made it the Capital because ot was easier for them.
Easier and less expensive.

They also contributed their own.

When Nigeria gained her independence, the Goverment naturally continued from there.

Many factors contributed to lagos being what it is today-- and not just it being a formal FCT.

Russia is just a country of 143m people that's about 120m less than Nigeria's population, France is about 67m people while England is about 65m people, Germany with 83m people and South Korea with about 67m people yet these nation's armies are considered to be more powerful than let's say India with over 1.4bn people.
World's most powerful militaries has been investing heavily on drones and unmanned military fighter jets because they have realities that a single drone can do the damage of over 300 personnel.

You need numbers, weapons and tactics to win a war.

Their standing army is about 70,000 and they know they cannot stand the Russians if war broke out between them.

The UK has some of the best fighters in the World, but they don't have the numbers.
So with their supposed rag-tag military, the Russians will overwhelm them.
