The truth is that they are not creating any job for the unemployed. Even a fresh PhD holder does not qualify for ANY of the positions. Just check the positions: reader, professor, lecturer I, lecturer II, etc, no graduate assistant, no assistant lecturer. The implication is that it is those lecturers already employed in other universities that will end up taking the appointments.

I am not sure you would be hurting anyone saying that. You have only stated the obvious. The whole exercise leaves much to be desired. it is very painful and disheartening that again another government recruitment exercise has ended with unimaginable anomalies. All the same,i wish those going for the interview the best,while those who couldn't make it will be awashed with God's favour very soon. Cheers.

I only quoted what i read. As it is, no one seems to know the number of people who died. Different figures (and even names ) have been flying around. I'd suggest we keep our fingers crossed and hear the real figures and manifest from the appropriate authorities.

I'm neither a psychologist nor a mental health expert.But my little knowledge of anxiety disorders tells me your problem is not aspergers syndrome,rather it could be,like someone pointed out,a social anxiety disorder.

If it is SAD,then you can overcome it according to experts.

Try and read books on personality traits, like 'personality plus' by florence littauer,and 'why you act the way you do',i don forget the autor of that one o.lol.

It will then dawn on you that you are not alone,being an introvert. In fact you are very normal and the people you see exhibiting radiance are not necessarily happier than you. ''Never envy the appearance of happiness in anyone,because you dont know their secret griefs!''.

About friends,what you need are quality friends.They may be two or three. Trust me you'l find happiness in such a relationship than being sorrounded by hundreds of parasitic people often referred to as 'friends'.

Lastly,go out of your comfort zone once in a while. Yes,it 'desensitizes' you.Go to parties,dinners religious gatherings,cinemas,alumni meetings etc.In the process,you'l surely make mistakes(socially,i mean) but dont give up. Learn to laugh at yourself,when you make such social blunders knowing that nobody gets good witout making mistakes!....Cheers.

I'm not sure most guys wouldn't like a woman proposing. in fact,on the contrary,it makes the whole business easier for the guy (i mean a serious and really matured guy o). I have experienced such a thing before and i did not degrade the lady in question. in fact i respected her the more for her courage!!!....

For over a decade,i have been looking for a Nigerian movie that would move me almost to tears like 'my love'!!!..Its perhaps the only film i've seen, where late sam loko played a serious role. And Emeka Ike,Hank Anuku,Chiege Alisgwe and Ramsey Noah were excellent in their performance (perhaps their best till date!!!)

@op, Going through the comments on the thread, one can easily conclude that there are a thousand and one factors responsible for the high number of single ladies at 30+.

However, there seems to be no silver bullet to deal with the problem. life itself is full of ironies:I know of a lady, whose early to mid and late twenties were full of fun, from one guy/man/ to the other,even to secure a job, she used what she had to get what she wanted,... now at 33, she remains single and desperately so.... LAW OF KARMA?
Another female friend, decent, amiable, beautiful, so committed that she spent six years in courtship with an unemployed guy, only to be dumped immediately he secured a job,(after seven years of joblessness).REASON?, it was seen by a pastor that she was not the right person for him!!.....and today, at 35, she is single trying real hard to put the pieces of her life together again! LAW OF....WETIN?.LOL

One can go on and on, but one thing is clear, a wise man is not always successful, and a fool is not always unfortunate; a wayward lady could end up with a happy family early in life, while a decent one gets married late/never/or to the wrong person!!....thats the irony of life!!!

all i know is this,

if as a young lady, you are pious, and genuinely, seek piety as the main virtue in your man,
if you exhibit temperance, patience, perseverance and simplicity in your endeavours....
if you realize, as a young lady, that you are meant to be a reasonable companion of a man...and not only a slave of his passion...
if you undersatand, that your sole purpose is to assist him in the toils of life.....even if men are as scarce as hen's teeth, u'l always be the one to chose from a pool of worthy husband materials...and if despite all this, u remain single!...then you'l be singly happy!!

TO those in their 30+.....never lose hope, don't give room for depression,be cheerful always, be realistic, lower your standards and pray,pray,pray.....
