I prefer the last paragraph of the story -about his getting Grammy nomination for writing songs in his plays....Obviously, he is irritated Bob Dylan won this year's Nobel Laureate; his( WS) opinion is more weighty and appreciated on this matter than the Green card issue... |
Is it possible for any sane person, especially someone in a reverred position, to PUBLICLY brag about COMMITING CRIME?. I don't like Mimiko's style of politics but I don't think he has taken his abracadabra politics to that pathetic level....Even Fayose won't say that Publicly.. |

There are certain things you can not have back in life-time wasted is one of such. Personally, I dont think the OP is too young to get married. In fact he should have been married by now all things being equal...However, I do not belong to the school of thought that says if he marries much later in life(perhaps at 35 and above) 'he would spend his pension on his children's school fees'...or 'when he is sixty his child will just be twenty'...etc With all due respect, that is a myopic way of thinking. We have seen instances where people married early,in their twenties and could not even have a child till their late forties/early fiftees. If their aim of getting married then was to have children early to avoid such problems, then has the aim not been defeated?....I have seen instances where a man in his late thirties is still a liability to the parents, while another boy in his early twenties has already become successful, making his own parents proud-Both parents of the man and the young boy are agemates..meaning one married atleast 10years before the other!... In short, getting married early is not a guarantee you would be relieved of your children's financial or social burden early, it does not even mean you would become a grandparent before someone who married much later in life.... I am not saying getting married late is good...but we need to understand that,'life has no manual'..and the 'end justifies the means' @Op. Do you have someone you really like enough to get married to?. I mean someone who also shares in your values and ideals. If yes, then go ahead, marry her and regardless of the challenges you face, both of you can weather the storm together and u would emerge victorious...such stories are sweet to tell.. ![]() But, if u are asking this question because some of your colleagues, relatives or friends are married, and you think u should also marry, then you might be making a grave mistake-a kind of mistake which is becoming a recurring decimal in our society today...In as much as I support getting married as and when due, I won't encourage you to marry just because others are doing it. Cheers. |
When I opened the thread, I was suprised to see it had gotten to the second page considering the trivial nature of the issue. After going thru the comments, I now understand why this is so; the OP dominated the discussion, having over 60 % of the comments. I also observed that- -The OP talks like he is in frenzy. -He is either a member of APC or paid to launder the image of the governor/ government since the popularity of the government has wanned seriously over the years. -He has said so much about nothing! -He reflects the anxiety among APC members in Osun state who know quite well they have failed and need last minute efforts to win back the hearts of the masses. Mind u I am from Osun...but apolitical. I believe in good governance: something Aregbe finds hard to achieve. If anything, Aregbe and his Party need to go down on their knees, admit their failure and apologize profusely to the people for disappointing them, maybe they can be forgiven. If not, this DAMAGE CONTROL won't work.... |
Johnnyessence:...Let's wait and see. However, The truth is Jimoh Ibrahim knows he can not win. He is an opportunist who is simply capitalizing on the loopholes in PDP to humiliate Mimiko- and he seems to be achieving this. You hardly see his posters in the state unlike in those days when he contested on the platform of ANPP;this means he is not so serious about it.... For OKE, the forces against him in his party are not as strong as the ones in support of him. In fact, these anti-OKE forces may likely team up with him especially now that things seem to be going his way. Don't also forget that rather than pitch tent with Jimoh Ibrahim, some PDP members would rather go for Oke because he has his foundation there...and he was quite loyal to his erstwhile boss,Late Agagu...until Mimiko came from LP to hijack the structure from him and others. And Aketi...he stepped on big toes before getting here. He has also refused to mend fences. Instead he believes without these people he 'offended' he could win. His utterances leave much to be desired. Rather than support Aketi, these forces within APC would at best sit on the fence, or they may give their support to OKE, who we all know has the support of SOME APC stalwarts who feel aggrieved by the outcome of the primaries that brought AKETI on board... The battle line is drawn....who carries the day, only time will tell..but OKE seems to have an edge |
As far as I am concerned, the battle is between OKE and AKETI....all things being equal, Oke will carry the day!! ![]() |

Ironically, the fact that she returned the 8500,does not automatically translate to her being a good wife material.. don't u know that some women are exceptional when it comes to pretence?-at that stage, they put up the kind of attitude that makes you wanna rush and take them home to mama!!!...Let them marry, u will see sege . That's why the Yorubas say 'oja okunkun ni obirin'( women are like something u bought in the dark,be prepared to see the worst when u check the item in broad daylight)... |
Imarie65:That's her main reason for becoming born again.. ![]() |
BabaO2:Calm down and read the original post VERY WELL; Mrs Tallen said her husband was her pillar all thru her political career. Obviously he wasn't sick when she was the Deputy Gov. But, now, it is pay back time...to support her husband now that he is down!. |
Lol@Op.... You are very right. Funny enough, I thought about this same thing some days ago, when I observed that the seatbelts at the back seat of my car were still neatly fitted after about three years of using it. And Just yesterday, I purposely asked a friend sitting at the back to use the seatbelt, he was like 'for what'? .... |
So, Buhari does not shake hands with women abi?SMH |
SOME of those pictures look photoshopped!. |
This is the first time I would be seeing her on trousers!!....Good omen? ![]() |
Ngozi123:You and many Nigerians seem to have forgotten so soon, that Buhari never wanted to get his wife involved in the electioneering that brought him to Power. It was the opposition and some members of the Public that made him change his mind when they alleged that he didn't have regard for women, hence the reason his wife was not being seen at the campaign grounds; when the pressure mounted, Buhari conceeded to the demands and it was even like a special campaign, the first day Aisha was seen publicly with the husband..I THINK that was in Ogun state. Trust Nigerians, analysis began: analysis of how beautiful she was..how she was even more beautiful than Patience....bla,bla,bla In short, Buhari meant what he said in Germany; the wife is not a politician and can not become one overnight...she is better off, as the CEO of her company, as an Author, as a Resource Person..as a WIFE in the Kitchen, as a WIFE in the room and and a WIFE in THE OTHER ROOM!!! ![]() |
Was it not this former Minister that thanked 'President Jonathan for bringing Facebook to Nigeria?' ![]() |
If this is an 'early' Christmas gift, what would the main Christmas gift look like? ![]() |
Garba Sheu can tell me something else and I might believe. But, this?. I don't believe it; perhaps he needs to see the video clip again and observe the wrath in every word PMB uttered while responding to the question...The smile was just a hard but unsuccessful attempt to hide his anger at the embarrassment his wife has caused him! |
It's as if people brought from outside the University to become Vice Chancellors often perform better than insiders in such positions: till date, Professor Peter Adeniyi,VC between 2002-2006, ( brought in from UNILAG) remains one of the best Vice Chancellors FUTA ever had while the administration of Prof.Daramola ( an Insider) is crisis-ridden. In FUNAAB, the current VC, Prof.Oyewole(a FUNAAB Professor) is equally not having it funny;from one crisis to another...Meanwhile, most old students and staff would agree that Professor Olaiya Balogun,2007-2012,( from Unilorin) made the institution(FUNAAB) a force to reckon with when he held sway as the VC.... |
Why go that far Ikimi?, Oyegun is very close by nah... just walk up to him...his faction of APC seems to be 'ahead' now... ![]() In short, these Politicians are shameless.....be it APC or PDP, they are all birds of a feather...they are after their pockets. It is just very annoying seeing people almost lynching themselves online while defending them!!! |
PaulIdu:I quite agree with most of the things u said. But, is it possible for a lady to love a guy for no reason at all?. I don't think so. Same goes for a guy: he can't possibly love a lady for no reason....There must be something somewhere somehow... |
Brightgem:She played the role of Kunle Afolayan's wife in the movie. I think it was her first major role in any movie... She is also in 'Anchor Baby'... |
GoogleAfrica: ...Go and see Figurine,... |

Directed by, Zeb Ejiro, Teco Benson, Or Chico Ejiro... ![]() ....Marketed by Ossy Affasons, Onitsha, and Idumota ![]() .....Produced on VHS... ![]() |
It seems this is the method these UNKNOWN actresses now adopt to become popular: they just tell us something sexual about themselves and be rest assured, NAIRALAND would 'popularize' it and bring it to the FrontPage...SMH! |
They got what they wanted-ATTENTION!!! |
The irony of the whole thing is that, within Ogun state itself, the Egbas ( Abeokuta) don't want their children to marry the Ijebus and Vice versa: a friend of mine, an Egba guy, had to beg his parents profusely before they reluctantly blessed his relationship with the Ijebu lady...They have been married for years now.... |
Enuguboy4nsk:Where is the pessimism in what he wrote?. That we will all die one day? Or that we need to enjoy every moment because life is indeed short?...if anything, that is the stark reality about life and death! |
Fame comes and goes easily.... |
