Studying JIJO is like studying nuclear physics. You need both mental and emotional stamina as the subject is jealous and cannot share attention with anything else. Otherwise you will crash like an improperly designed rocket on its way to the moon.

Are you sure you want to try?

The company is among the list of stocks I posted as a possible future candidate/target for aquisation/buy out. ...u can dig up on my past post for reference/guide.

But let me still give out a hint.
A simple puzzle...

Assuming u were to assign a No(in ascending order) to each of the 26 alphabetical letters, then the name of the said company(acronym) is represented by an ARITHMETIC SEQUENCE where the DIFFERENCE(d) between the 3rd and the 2nd No is twice that between the 2nd and the 1st.

...Pls figure out the rest.

The most logical thing to do is to align with that coy.
When? ...now.
One word; BUY !!

CAVEAT: Any decision-making on this should come after reading through my signature below. Due diligencestill apllies as always.

So I did an extensive analysis yesterday and found out a certain coy in a certain sector that holds IMMENSE VALUE !!

On the surface, those who look to focus only on earnings delivery(NPM in view) without a deep consideration of other very key valuation metrics will probably not see the huge potential therein.
I look @ the coys financial print(last 3 quarters in view), and I see some similarities with the drive for VALUE like that of WAPCO and NEIMETH in recent times.
...inherent REWARD is by far, way ahead of the combination of surrounding RISK and current asset PRICE !!

Using a fine blend of appropriate valuation models which incorporates a high risk premium, there's a strong chance that the said coy can deliver over 115% ROI in the short to mid-term and near 170% looking past the mid-term horizon or should there be a possible buy out.
With the said asset, the probability of a +ROI play is already near 1.

It is well.
At least give us some clues na

You will get 82 UPDC REIT shares for every 1000 UPDC shares

UACN should have there own court ordered meeting by first quarter of 2021. From my calculation you should be able to get 225 UPDC REIT shares for every 1000 UACN shares
Based on your calculation is it advisable to purchase UPDC shares at the moment?

On Guinness...
I wonder how some of u interpret financial statements.
...there is need to learn how to read between the line, extrapolate figures from a collection of key financial indicators/determinants before drawing conclusions.

For those talking about the coys current cash position, hear this;
Before u adjudge and assign a coys cash position as benefit to equityholders, u MUST;

1) rake off the coys debt position, particularly those of the near term(current liabilities in view)
2) Understand how that cash came about and how it is been put to use(cash flow activities in view)

On point 1, while Guinness YtD Cash position printed an improvement to approx N18.76B, over 70% of that figure @ circa N13.27B is a cash proportion from near term L&B.
...so actual accrued cash benefit to equityholders is approx N5.48B and not N18.75B.
One pivotal input that will give u a guide is to look at the coys quick ratio and compare it to that of its industrial peers. Guinness has now recorded a back to back(QoQ in view) negative NWC, with a quick ratio of 0.5x. ...the interpretation of this is that for every N1 liability in the books of Guiness, the company can only afford 50k from its readily available cash/asset to offset it.(the cash u so speak highly of)
Put differently, Guinness is currently insolvent !!
To add credence to this fact is the coys CLCR.

On point 2, the cash had come from the high print in OCF, an offset of a surge in trade and other receivables.
Some months ago, management guided that it will consider tightening credit terms by ending its contract with some of its distributors and where necessary, collect any returned goods, as part of efforts to sought out working capital challenges.(see uptick in inventory)
This has helped improve the change in WC. ...which is key.
However, debt obligations remains a course of great concern.

From a surrounding risk perspective, the company will need to do a bit more(than its peers) to erk out more earnings from its current WC given the growing contracting margin it faces from high cost input.
Guinness will need to battle more with cost following the 1,430bps increment in excise duty to N200/litre on spirits(beginning June 2020) which unfortunately, constitutes(together with wine) a big weight of revenue build for the coy. The govt currenty taxes N150/litre on wine(excise duty).
I dare say that there's an urgent need to seek to innovate around its product lines to better increase penetration while seeking effective channels to optimize cost.

Let me let u in on a few other worries;
Guinness' current EFIR of over 40% is not good at all. The coy is highly dependent on external sources of cash(debt) to fund its operations.
Elsewhere, there are a few indicators that infers that the coy might be coming for ur money soon. ...or seek to raise more funds from other sources. It actually needs cash.

Using a fine blend of an appropriate valuation model that discounts surrounding risk attaching an appreciable risk premium, my FVE pegs @ N12.70

Disclosure: This is stating matters from a strictly fundamental perspective. ...the coys TA might be saying something different.
NOT to be viewed as any sought of recommendation. Due diligence still applies as always.

What to do?
Pls follow ur instinct.

Audacius:
On the issue of frustration by registrars, maybe this experience might help some persons:

I once had quite a number of pending e-dividend requests and was frustrated after multiple submission of applications to my bank, and DHL of requested documents to my stockbroker.

I recall I had to go update my ID document at my bank and a customer care staff observed that the order of my name on the ID document was different from that on my BVN, hence the bank account. BVN was done at an e-branch of the same bank and the mistake was made. I had observed it on my ATM card but didn't think much of it.

Someone I consulted told me that, legally, the BVN name order and name order on my ID documents are for different persons. E.g. Adekunle Chukwuma Ciroma is different from Chukwuma Adekunle Ciroma even though it's the same person writing their name differently.

I went through an arduous journey of swearing an affidavit at the court and going to the line up at the notoriously queue-laden, few branches, you-know-which orange bank for the name to be corrected.

After that, the dividends started pouring in. It was a delight actually. You are just on your own doing your thing and a random look at your phone Afriprud has paid all dividends from a particular stock for so many years. Yes, that was when I got my pending dividend from JB's GTL Registrars.

The sad thing is no one told me NAME ORDER was the problem until that chance observation by the bank staff. I think about this possibility as one of the many problems whenever I see news items about the billions of unclaimed dividend and how government is unable to sleep well because of it. I think a feedback system is going to reduce it. Let people know why that form they submitted is not being treated. That should be easy in this digital age.

SUMMARY:
If you are having problems getting your dividends, check if the order of your name on BVN is same as on your ID document. Seems registrars' system will flag it as not to be attended to once name orders don't match.

SUMMARY OF SUMMARY Check the NAME ORDER on your BVN and your ID documents. Do they match?!

Peace!
Thanks for the expose. If they can at least give feedbacks to request problems will be half solved.

I beg to disagree

What is the correlation between owning stocks and checking fraud?

Your bonuses and salaries can be channelled towards stocks
It's none of anyones business
That was in response to his question on why employers monitor employee accounts. I can assure you that bank employee' lifestyle is even monitored. Whether you are living above or below your means is checked. Is it salary account that won't be monitored? If the salary account of a bank employee is observed to be fat, it is likely a query will be issued to the owner to explain why he/she is not making use of his/her salary. What funds is he or she using to sustain himself. These are preventive measures often taken by banks to check internal fraud.

It is not bad if his salary is used to buy stocks. But it is unwise to reveal he is buying that of a competitor, hence my advice.

For banks who wishes to checkmate against internal fraud, it is somehow necessary.
