There is no database to search this. You have to understand the US and the world to argue how important is your endeavor to the United States.

I will say Marine Security is of national importance to the US. You have to tailor your arguments towards 1. Security of the US sea port of entry and water ways such as adequate security of these prevent the US from external threats that can come through them. External threat could be terrorists, human and sex trafficking, etc. 2. Commerce. The sea ports are of very economic and commercial importance to the US. Safety and security lapses at these ports can have serious devastating effect on the economy of the country. 3. The sea and the oceans surrounding the US are also of national security against foreign adversaries like Russia, China etc. The US Coast Guard, Marine and Navy can use your expertise.

These are the ones I can think for now. There are many ways you can argue how Marine security is of national importance to any country.

Having said that, you must research data, articles, publications to back up all your claims of how Marine security is important to the US.

Okay. The fake marriage certificate is enough evidence to deport both of you. So be cautious about how you deal with this person unless you too want to come back home.

Since you can afford to pay 2M per year to rent, I will advise you to look for a property to buy. There are properties where you can put down payment and spread the rest over some years. I am guessing you are living in a major city like Lagos or Abuja or Portharcourt etc.

If not, move out of his house and find another place to rent. You are not a poor renter and they just want to take advantage of that.

I can relate to this too. My first moniker was registered in 2006, fresh from college.

OP, please put fo.olish in front of the word women in that your reference above.

Only fo.olish women do it to that extent that it will break their relationship or marriages.

1. Based on the fact that there's no child between both of you. You can decide not to go back. This is a big factor and it's clear.

2. You see that cheating, it's a very grey area for men doing well financially. They just listed the kinds of marriages we have in Nigeria. The reality here just as they put on the website is that you'd have to come to the embassy with a marriage certificate as proof that you're married.

Most cultures in Nigeria don't issue certificate for traditional marriage so you'd still have to go to the registry after your traditional marriage to get it.

I personally have seen numerous Nigerian couples with no registry marriages got their marriages recognized by the US embassy even when they are going through immigration visa.

The latest of my experience is my close friend, a Muslim family with only Islamic and traditional marriage. He and his family just arrived in the US on an EB immigration visa in January 2025.

2. How many children are involved in the marriage?
3. Put more information about what led to the slap. I am not supporting wife beating but we need more context. Was it a one time case or repeated cases?
4. On the claim that he collects all money you earn, how is that possible?? You also said you built shops while you were with him and he tried to collect one of the shops from you. How come he was collecting all your money and you still built shops? Clarify that inconsistency.

Hello guys, please advise me.

Below picture is the survey plan of a land I have had for a while now, but want to start something on it now. I will be meeting with an architect and engineer next week, but I am now thinking of what I want to achieve so I have come up with this very rough sketch on the plan.

The land currently has a foundation on it which is the red coloured box in the picture. I bought the place with the foundation on it and I don't even have the plan of the foundation, so i will re-work it. My plan is to build a 1 storey building comprising of 2 units of 2 bedroom flats downstairs and 2 units of 2 bedroom flats upstairs. The blue coloured box is the area I envision the building to occupy.

The black coloured box is where the gate into the compound will be and the grey coloured box will be the parking space for about 3 cars. The green coloured box will contain at least 2 shops and the pink coloured box will be a garden where madam will plant crops with the kids - that has always been my dream. Finally, the yellow coloured box is where the soakaway will be.

Please, what do you guys think of this plan? Notice that the planned house and soakaway will cross into the area where the old foundation currently is. Will it be easy or even a good idea to re-construct the foundation to my plan and also turn the remaining part of it into soakaway?

Also, is it a good idea to have the entrance into the compound on the part where the house is, just as I depicted in my plan?

Again, I love the idea of having a sliding gate instead of the traditional 2-door gate. But the sliding gate will likely traverse or get too close to the area the shops could be. Any thoughts on how I can work around this?

I am not a building engineer or architect but I will swap the positions of the gate and the shops, then swap the positions of the garden and soakaway. By doing this, you will have more packing spaces as you can pack regular cars on soakaways.

Just make sure you employ services of professional architect and engineers to design the house.

Also, remove the existing foundation completely as you don't know what is built there or intended for.

And the OP is right. Many Nigerian couples are ignorant of the fact that their customary or traditional marriages are recognized by Nigerian laws and foreign countries.

The foreign countries have no authority to determine what marriages they will recognize from our country. Our country laws determine what marriages are valid and what marriages are invalid.

You can't travel out of the country as a married man with just traditional marriage. You'd have to present verifiable evidence at the embassy that you're legally married.

What you should be worried about is finding the right partner and making sure that you yourself is a good partner as well. Not telling your partner which marriage you'll do and which one you wouldn't.

You can travel out of Nigeria with traditional marriage.
